Bass string instruments used in church and folk music in Prague and central Bohemia

This thesis is aiming to summarize and compare instruments used in church and folk music in Prague and central Bohemia. At first it names various types of instruments and describes their characteristics. Then pick few makers who influenced development and expansion of double bass in the land, and following with pick of particular instruments and their description. Last part of this thesis speaks of Ondrej Hornik and his collection, which is valuable source of information and tangible documentation of musical development in Czechia. Included is an insert located at the end of this work.
Choral music in Albania

This thesis discusses the development of Albanian choral music from the early 20th century to the present. It provides a general history of Albanian culture and politics as context for the rapid changes that happened during the 20th century and how that has influenced the musical life of the Albanian people. The significance of this influence is then represented and analyzed through the works of three prominent Albanian choral composers from different generations, whose lives and body of work span the last century. Through these analyses, we explore the evolution of Albanian choral music and how modern composers preserve traditional folk elements, yet are influenced by the cultural and political environment of their respective time.
Percussion instruments in Azerbaijan

Theme of my bachelor's thesis is opera in Azerbaijan. It includes three chapters. First of them is about history of national musical instruments of Azerbaijan. In the second chapter I present the existing in Azerbaijan percussion instruments. And the third chapter is devoted to the formation and development of modern science about Azerbaijan national instruments. My work contains an attachment in form of CD with the pieces of percussion instruments, national azerbaijanian music and photos of described instruments.
Béla Bartók and his Suite Paysanne Hongroise

The Bachelor's thesis "Béla Bartók and his Suite Paysanne Hongroise" describes the Bartók's life, his folksong collecting, collecting trips and the composition "Suite Paysanne Hongroise" for flute and piano. The first chapter is focused on composer's life and his musical development. Second chapter describes folksong collecting and especially Bartók's approaches during the folksong collecting and influence of folksongs to his music. The final chapter is focused on "Suite Paysanne Hongroise" in version for flute and piano. Pictures and scores are viewed in the appendix at the end. Bartók's authentic recordings of folksongs are on the enclosed CD.
Traditional and contemporary music of Kazakhstan in a second half of 20th century an example for contemporary

These graduation work talk about the traditional and contemporary music of Kazakhstan, especially in the second half of the 20the century. The aim was not talk only about the folk composers and, on the other hand, academic composers, but also to put out those composers, who have connections between these two different styles. Here I put the names of the composers chronologically based on their life periods and divided on the base of the several musicologists. I add my list of composers, which is enlarged to the list of the composers from the new generation. Additionally, I pay strong attention to all these selected composers and show the music examples of the chosen composers. Especially, I analyze compositions of those composers, who have a different musical style, different music language and different way of composing.
Children's Folklore Groups of Doudlebsko

This labour is dealing with mapping of doudleby folklore on the area of south Bohemia. Common part does not include only a view of children´s folklore but also a view of adult´s folklore. There is also a determination of area, history and a characterizaton of inhabitants. Part of doudleby ethnicity are characteristic traditional costume, music and songs. Second part is determinated only on children´s folklore groups and deals with characteristic songs and dances of Doudleby. This labour also contains elementary informantion about groups, it´s structure, costumes and activity contents. Groups Bárováček, Jitřenka, Malý Furiant, Radost, Soumrak and Úsviťáček are mentioned in this labour. All groups are led by competent leaders who guide children towards recovery of traditional customs and raise the generation who replace them in functions in adult´s groups. The end of this labour contains information about methods that are used to lead the groups and District show of children´s folklore groups held by Dům dětí a mládeže (The house of children and youth) in České Budějovice.
