Social Farming and Czech Social Farms (A Case Study)

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of social farming; its aim is to describe this phenomenon, understand it and critically discuss it in the context of social economics and social entrepreneurship. The text also proposes other frames of thought - social integration and social work, multifunctional agriculture, the Green Care concept and the social entrepreneurial theory in which social farming can be considered. The thesis also gives insight into foreign and Czech socio-agricultural practice. It uses methodology based on the principles of exploratory and descriptive case studies since it focuses on a small sample of a phenomenon not yet described in which context and content are observed. The study is divided into two sections: a theoretical part and a research part, each of which draw on professional literature, semi-structured in-depth interviews with representatives of social farms, other primary data and documents and secondary sources. The analysis of the research results displays an assessment of Czech social agriculture, which can be described as delayed when compared to western Europe, mainly due to the historical development of agriculture and social arenas of the last seventy years, while also serving as a reaction to certain contemporary social trends. The theme of this bachelor thesis is a Current development of Green Care in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to explaining the term Green Care (which includes a history) and other terms associated with it. Then, the thesis is focused on development and the most used forms of Green Care in foreign countries as well as in the Czech Republic. In next part, there are described farms which are using this concept. The last part of the thesis focuses on the future development options of Green care in the Czech Republic.

the use of human relation to the nature in a social work

The thesis deals with the human-nature relationship from the point of view of social work. The theoretical part looks into the history of evolution of the human-nature relationship and the theological point of view of this relationship. The practical part introduces three areas: animal-assisted therapy, garden therapy and social agriculture. It explains in brief the evolution of each of the areas and describes their current trends. It reveals opportunities of using human-nature interactions in the social work framework.

This thesis offers an introduction to the issue of social agriculture, explains this concept, defines theoretical basis, specifics, sources of financing social agriculture. It describes the state of social farming in the Czech Republic and abroad. The practical part de-scribes the Czech social farm Dvůr Čihovice, the description is supplemented with a SWOT analysis. This farm is compared with similarly oriented foreign farm in the United Kingdom, whose image is constructed from the survey.

Diplomová práce se zabývá současnou komunikační strategií Lipky, školského zařízení pro environmentální vzdělávání, a možnostech zlepšení této strategie zvláště s ohledem na oblast zahradního vzdělávání. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vysvětlení základních konceptů v rámci dané problematiky. Následující část pak představuje výsledky interních a externích analýz komunikační strategie Lipky. Tato část též poukazuje na možné nedostatky a navrhuje alternativní řešení pro vylepšení efektivity komunikace. Práce se zaměřuje na pedagogy z jihomoravského kraje a jejich přehled o aktivitách Lipky a také jejich zájem o nabízené kurzy.
Social agriculture as an alternative business solution for agriculture

This bachelor's thesis introduces social agriculture as an alternative business solution in the whole agricultural sector. This work is not focused just on social agriculture but also on agriculture in general and also on some social terms. It also explains the main meaning in social agriculture, its benefits in social life and for what kind of people it can be beneficial and helpful. It analyzes social agriculture in the Czech Republic and in other European countries.The literal research is divided into three parts. The first part is about agriculture in general and its main functions in agricultural sector. In the second part are described some social terms and the third part which is the longest one is about the social agriculture. The third part also deals with financing of farms or companies that concentrate on social agriculture in each country.
Family farms in CR (recent stage and the future development)

Thesis provides an overview of the ancestral estates, people and life in the village. The family estates were an integral part of the village. In traditional social stratification of rural communities were owners of ancestral estates at the top of the chart. In my work, I will describe work on ancestral farms, village life, all in the 20th century. At selected homesteads become acquainted with life in the ancestral homesteads and villages.
Green care in CR (recent stage and the future development)

Thesis provides an overview of the health farm - Green Care. In the Czech Republic, Green Care farms are not widespread, but in some areas, such as social services these farms can be found. Green Care means the use of care farms, carrying out agricultural work, care for animals, plants - all to support human health and improve quality of life. Green care utilizes knowledge of multifunctional agriculture, which offers services beyond the production itself. The different forms of green car in the Czech Republic and other countries are discussed. The main forms of therapy are presented. The original research was made by the questionnaire on the two localities (STROOM Dub and Chráněná dílna). The personal dialog was made with the director of farms, social farmerettes and clients. The data from original research are sparse for statistical analysis. Anyhow results indicate the importance of green care in CR for persons with health handicap, seniors, children and yound people.
