Compactibility of the materials for subgrade
Kolbábek, Jiří ; Varaus, Michal (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on differences between compaction of fine-grained and coarse-grained soils. It presents selected compaction methods and it describes their principles and implementation procedures. In the practical part is performed classification of both types of soils and then samples are compacted by three methods. The result of this work is to compare the effects of compaction on fine-grained and coarse-grained soil.
Determination of stability of fuel feeding into boiler
Skalický, Michal ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the determination of stability of fuel feeding into boiler. The principle of the screw conveyor is described at the beginning of the thesis. It is followed by a description of the individual parts of the worm. The second part of the research deals with the properties of the materials transported. The second half of the bachelor thesis is practical. In this section there are experimentally measured values of flow of sawdust and wood chips. At the end, the measured values are compared and evaluated.
Ohrožení potravinové bezpečnosti vybraných zemí Afriky a Blízkého východu vlivem válečného konfliktu na Ukrajině
Holzerová, Valentýna
The aim of the thesis was to determine the impact of the war conflict in Ukraine on the export of wheat and maize from Ukraine to selected countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Lebanon and Libya were chosen to handle the impact of the said conflict due to their heavy dependence on Ukrainian wheat and maize imports. The literature review focuses on the stability of food access, specifically the impact of war conflicts on food security, including the historical context. The results of the paper include Ukraine's position within world agricultural markets. Total agricultural production and exports of wheat, maize and other crops from Ukraine to selected countries for the period 2010-2020 were investigated. The evolution of wheat and maize exports since the beginning of the war in Ukraine was also tracked. The selected countries were then surveyed on the reasons for their own insufficient agricultural production and why they are so dependent on grain imports. Based on the collected data and food security indicators, the impacts of the war in Ukraine were investigated. For selected countries, the consumption of wheat and maize for both human consumption and feed purposes was surveyed. With the closure of Black Sea ports since the start of the war and the significant reduction in grain exports from Ukraine, both Lebanon and Libya have faced sharp price increases and reduced imports of grain and oilseeds from Ukraine. For both Lebanon and Libya, wheat is a staple agricultural crop that provides a regular source of food. Maize is also a widely imported commodity that is used as livestock feed rather than for human consumption. Lebanon is more vulnerable to reduced wheat imports, while Libya is vulnerable to reduced maize imports. Both countries are highly dependent on cereal imports, and in addition, the countries face a number of challenges that already threaten their food security. The thesis also compares which of the selected countries has been more impacted by the war and why.
Experimental granular software with spatial setting
Pospíšil, Tomáš ; Dlouhý, Dan (referee) ; Indrák, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design and realization of the experimental software, which has the task to distribute the granular synthesis into surround sound, specifically into the octofonic sound system. The software is designed as a VST3 plugin, which was created in a JUCE framework. Apart of problematics mentioned above the thesis also contains theoretical and technical knowledge linked with granular synthesis, surround sound and a form of realization of a resulting software. The end of this thesis is dedicated to the testing phase and deficits of resulting software.
Short-term application of elevated temperature and drought influences the isotopic composition of winter wheat grains
Pernicová, Natálie ; Urban, Otmar ; Čáslavský, Josef ; Klem, Karel ; Trnka, Miroslav
The study aimed to determine the differences in carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) stable isotope ratios in grains of three winter wheat varieties grown under optimal and stress conditions. We found that the wheat variety has a significant effect on both δ13C and δ15N isotope ratios. Short-term (nine days) exposure to drought and high temperature during the heading or stem extension development phase significantly enhanced δ13C values, but only high temperature affected δ15N values. Enhanced δ15N values support the assumption that global warming causes a higher representation of the 15N isotope in plants. Moreover, significant interactive effects of temperature and water availability on the values of both isotopes were found implying that C and N metabolisms have been altered under the investigated stress conditions. We conclude that δ13C and δ15N isotope ratios of cereal grains are sensitive indicators of stress conditions, even short-term ones
Granular Synthesis in Music Production
Effect of microstructure on mechanisms of plastic deformation in fine-grained magnesium alloys
Minárik, Peter
In this work were studied effects of the grain refinement on the mechanical properties and the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys potential for medical applications - AE21 and AE42. Mechanical properties changed after ECAP pressing in consistency with literature data. Enhanced corrosion resistance in AE42 alloy was achieved by the grain refinement. Corrosion layer created on the surface was observed by light and electron microscopy. Effect of the grain size on the character of the corrosion layer was investigated. AE42 alloy is suitable for further investigation as potential biodegradable material. AE21 alloy was excluded from further investigation due to low corrosion resistance even after ECAP treatment.
Recovery and recrystallization of austenitic steel 08Cr18Ni10T
Čech, Jan ; Gregor, Martin (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis deals with influences of graded deformations, temperatures and holding times on the grains and subgrains size in steel 08Cr18Ni10T. In literary part of the thesis there are described static and dynamic annealing treatments, then also austenitic stainless steels and some selected types of their processing. In experimental part there is studied grain size on differently deformed samples annealed in temperature range 1050–1200 °C for 10, 50 and 100 minutes. Analysis of present structures units was perform by EBSD. Except of that, there were realized chemical analysis of selected inclusions and also hardness test were realised. Achieved measurement shown, that grain size of chosen steel is depended on all 3 variable values.

Methods to increase the visibility of the original austenite grain boundaries in steels
Gamanov, Štěpán ; Klakurková, Lenka (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with methods of revealing prior austenite grains in steels. The objective was to describe and demonstrate these basic methods on samples. The theoretical part deals with the importance of austenite grain and its size, with description of base methods of revealing austenite grains, and with methods of determination of grain size. The practical part consists of pictures and commentary of samples wich were made with some of the base methods described in the theoretical part. Conclusion consists of comparison of our and external results and also expanding commentary on individual methods.
