Possibilities of development of adult education in Czech Republic using foreign experience

The aim of the thesis is to explore and describe adult education as an integral part of lifelong learning in relation to the development stages of human life. Particular emphasis is placed on the 3rd stage of life, the senior age. The defined area is solved with a wider historical, geographical and demographic context. The author also deals with the analysis of the global and especially European demographic development with a special focus on the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. Especially the current changes in the age structure of the population and the consequences of this development on the educational system. In the end, recommendations and suggestions are formulated on how to respond to ongoing demographic changes and how to prepare for an aging society from the point of view of education.
Senior point in Havlíčkův Brod as a center of support and education in old age

This bachelor thesis focuses on contact places for seniors Senior Points and on education provided on these places. The thesis is theoretical, complemented by reflection and knowledge acquired from practise at a branch office in Havlíčkův Brod. In the introductory part of the thesis basic concepts of aging, preparation for old age, active aging and aspects influencing life quality in old age are discussed. The second part of the thesis describes senior education specifics and the general concept of Senior Point project with further details of activities at the branch office in Havlíčkův Brod. The main goal of the thesis is to describe Senior Point project and to evaluate its activities in context of senior education.
Third Age education in Municipal library in Louny

The thesis' theoretical part focuses on resource research on topics: education of seniors, volunteering, communities, societies and library. In the practical part of this thesis, we focus on description of not-only educational work of Municipal library in Louny and the analysis of senior's attendance in culture using a custom survey. The survey was focused on middle-aged and older inhabitants in the town Louny, and developed, evaluated and collected by the author of this thesis. In the last part, we can find description of the collected data. Here it analytically evaluates and compares information about the socio-cultural activities in Louny, and offers the next step of development for management of the library.
Seniors education on the example of theproject Third Age

This thesis presents senior education. Due to the increasing number of older people in our society, senior education has become important way how to keep them in an active lifestyle. The beginning of this thesis is devoted to the theoretical bases of senior education. There are explained terms like aging, old age, senior and introduced fundamental involution changes that relate to senior. The main part of this work is focused on the project Third Age, which has been implemented in the City Library in Louny. The implementation of the project joined in the region several hundred people and because of it the project became the largest such project in the district of Louny. The project is a successful example of good practice addressing seniors' education at the regional level. Empirical investigation finished off the main passage of the thesis. It is aimed at finding the motivation to education and its potential barriers that they perceive the project participants. The empirical part of the thesis was carried out by questionnaire survey. Education of older adults in the area in of new media

In the paper characterized were chosen, most important determinants of educating seniors in the matter of new media. Learning and teaching of seniors were depicted through "non-formal system" created by Universities of Third Age (U3A). Actions of teacher and adult students connected with the effective learning about possibilities connected with new media discussed were in following dimensions: social changes, transformations of education of people in late adulthood, individual features of seniors and institutional and theoretical solutions in the matter of andragogy and educational gerontology. The book also contains a chapter in which described were transformations of society by new media and causes and results of digital exclusion among seniors. The crucial part of the paper is a practical answer to the question, how to educate seniors in "non-formal education system" in the matter of electronic media? To achieve this, presented was a complex methodical proposition derived from andragogical and geragogical theories with a reference to didactic practice of the author in computer sections of universities of third age. The consideration is supplemented by last chapter depicting functions and meaning of geragogics in U3A. In the described paper, attention was paid to the aspect of senior education...
