The work focuses on mapping the current situation in the media market in the Czech Republic. It examines in particular the impact of current economic situation in the media organizations. Media behave in the marketplace as commercial enterprises (except public Czech Television and Czech Radio - for comparison are also included in the work), their main objective is to generate profit. Media organizations derive revenue primarily from advertising specified, are therefore dependent on the financial system as a whole. If advertisers due to unfavorable economic situation restricts the publication of advertisements in the media, media organizations will automatically drop revenues, resulting in running the organization. The work investigates how the specific effects of the decline in economic activity in media organizations. For an overall analysis of the main characters in particular those such as revenue from principal activities of the organization, the total profit or changes in staffing. More than two thirds of respondents (68%) are concerned about the health of their loved ones (32% definitely), almost two fifths (39%) are concerned about their own health. Due to coronavirus, the incomes of more than a third of households decreased (11% significantly), three-fifths have the same incomes. The increase in income was reported by 5% of households.

More than three quarters of respondents are concerned about the health of their loved ones (37% definitely) and the deterioration of the economic situation in the Czech Republic (31% definitely). A quarter of respondents are concerned about a supply disruption, less than a third about insufficient hospital capacity. Less than half of the respondents are worried about their own health, people in senior age are more worried, and people with poorer health are significantly more concerned.

In the January 2020 survey the Public Opinion Research Centre examined two questions related to evaluation of material living conditions of respondent's households, and to expectation of development of these conditions in this year. More than one half (55%) of Czechs evaluates material living conditions of their households as good, 12% consider them to be bad, and 33% think they are "neither good, nor bad". 54% of Czechs expect no change of their current material living conditions, according to 19% they will improve, and 24% think that material living conditions of their households will worsen in this year.
