Influence of targeted grassing in part of the waterdhed on nitrate concentrations trend in drainage and subsurface waters
Zajíček, Antonín ; Štibinger, Jakub (advisor) ; Vymazal, Jan (referee)
Water quality in small agricultural slopy catchments in Bohemian - Moravian highlands is often threatened by high nitrate concentration and nitrogen loads from diffusive agricultural sources. The main goal of this thesis was to get a practical evidence for findings obtained in the Czech Republic and abroad by statistical approaches concerning the profoundly mitigative effects that grassing certain catchment areas has on the nitrate burden in drainage and surface waters. The research was conducted mainly in the Dehtáře experimental catchment, where part of the recharge area with an area of 4.6 ha, has been grassed since the hydrological year 2007. Together with long-term monitoring of nitrate leaching in subcatchments with different land use in recharge and discharge are, drainage runoff generation and composition were surveyed in order to find knowledge about the recharge area placement and its importance for drainage water quality. The possibility of using the continuous measurement of water temperature for drainage runoff separation was also tested. The results presented show that nitrate concentration values in drainage water were influenced the most by the land use of the recharge zones within the drainage subcatchment. While permanent grassland placed directly in the drained area (corresponding to the catchment discharge zone) did not show any influence, the grassing focused on the catchment recharge area demonstrated a significant decrease in both, NO3 concentrations and N loads. Approximately one year after grassing, the long-term course of nitrates concentrations changed direction and became decreasing in sites with completely or partly grassed recharge zone, while in sites without land use change), the nitrate concentrations trend remains increasing or the stagnation was found. Decreases by 32% was detected in systematic drainage subsystem, which recharge area was completely grassed. The nitrate-nitrogen leaching decreased after grassing in recharge area of the drainage system by 23%. These findings can be generalised for slopy agricultural catchments with common land use in soil environments formed on crystalline rocks. The acquired findings are of high importance for improving the water quality of small streams as well as groundwater in agriculturally exploited areas, for planning protective zones within large catchments of potable water reservoirs, and also for protecting small local surface or groundwater sources of potable water.
Drainage facilities in the country - the draft land drainage ornamental numery
Kohoutek, Michal ; Štibinger, Jakub (advisor) ; David, David (referee)
My work deals with the design of land drainage of ornamental nursery, located in a small village in the district of Kolín - Malotice near the town Zásmuky. This study contains four drainage design options that are based on the evaluation of geodetic data, infiltration test pits data (method of filled test pit, single test pit method), hydro-technical calculations of detailed drainage system, functional objects on the drainage network, the financial evaluation of individual proposals and overall evaluation by means of a SWOT analysis.
The technological stage of understructure construction works of the residential building in Lomnice
Fejfar, Michal ; Štěrba, Martin (referee) ; Venkrbec, Václav (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is the technology of lower construction site of a residential building in Lomnici. This work includes technical report, technological prescription earthworks, technological specification of the foundation works, itemized budget, principles of organization of construction, design of mechanical assemblies, schedule resources balance, inspection and test plan, occupational safety and oversized transport solutions .
The Reconstruction of Vyškov Rectory
Kolibačová, Alžběta ; Keith, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with reconstruction and design of new functional use of the former rectory in Vyskov and new gallery on the neighboring property. Rectory building has been restored to its original condition, disposition solution respects the requirements of dean of parish, it is accessible to people with limited mobility. The new building will storey building gallery, which will enrich the cultural life in Vyskov. Mass design gallery was inspired by the intersection prisms. The next phase includes the creation of public space between the rectory and gallery, parking spaces and a park.
Causes of runway surfacing failures at Karlovy Vary airport
Jůza, Petr ; Dašek, Ondřej ; Holcner, Petr
The modernized runway of Karlovy Vary airport was opened in the first half of 2006. However, significant failures of airport pavement occurred after one year of usage. During that time, these failures were massively developed. The risk of limitation (or in extreme cases, cancellation) of traffic on this runway occurred. That is why the Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology was asked by investor for working out the expert opinion in 2010. A total of 13 questions were asked. The main issue was identification of the causes of detected failures and determination of the responsibility of the individual litigants. This article is focused on this essential issue of referred opinion.
Family house
Hrdinová, Andrea ; Šagát, Erik (referee) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with new detached house in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. The work aims to develop design documents for bulding construction. The detached house can be inhabited by 4 to 6 family members all year long. The building has 2 above-ground floors and a basement. Double garage is a part of the house too. The building is based on the Porotherm brick system and the basement is built of Best concrete bricks of permanent shuttering. The building has a shed roof and it is situated on flat terrain.
The influence of drainage systems on catchment water regime
ČERVONYJ, Jakub
The influence of drainage systems on catchment water regime was dealt within this bachelor´s work in the form of literature review. The water regime of landscape as well as components of hydrological balance in catchment was described in the first part. Basic concepts of agricultural drainage systems are described in the second part. The last part of literature review was devoted to the influence of drainage systems on water the characteristics of Jenínský strem catchment, where the systematic drinage systems were built in history. The description of the area of interest includes the evaluation of functionality of drains after 30 years of presence in the catchment, executed by field research.
Influence of drainage systems in the basin water regime
NOCAROVÁ, Hana
In this thesis I generally address draining systems and their influences on the water regime of a river basin. In the first part I describe the history from ancient times to the present, development in the world and in the Czech Republic at the range from 2000 years before Christ to the current systems. The thesis also explains basic terms, such as the content of agricultural ameliorations, terms relating to dewatering, purposes and division of draining systems, methods of dewatering actions, effects of water-logging and their consequences. At the end the thesis describes the impacts of building drains for draining off, dewatering and floods and the impact on the environment. The objective of the thesis is to describe the impacts and influences of drainage on the water regime of a river basin and the associated problems.
