Czechoslovak - Venezuelan Relations in the years 1945 - 1968

This work is an analysis of a topic that until now has been practically no research, the relations of Czechoslovakia and Venezuela in the years 1945 - 1968, while this work focuses attention on diplomatic and economic relations, it also considers the influence of domestic politics in these countries, explaining the context of these international relations, specifically of the United States, Soviet union and Cuba. The thesis is primarily based on material from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Czech Republic and also the National Archive of the Czech Republic. Diplomatic relations between these countries were established in 1929, after the Munich Agreement of 1938, the embassy of Czechoslovakia in Caracas was closed. After World War II. economic relations were re-established. This was really important because the commercial interest of Czechoslovakia helped to establish the diplomatic relations. Diplomatic relations were discontinued by Venezuela in 1952 during the dictatorship of general Marcus Pérez Jiménez. When the dictator was overthrown in 1958, diplomatic relations were gradually re-established, once more through economic relations and finally established in 1968. Czechoslovak-Cuban Relations in the 1980s

This thesis analyzes the development of Czechoslovak-Cuban relations in the eighties of the 20th century. In the first part the author is shortly showing development of mutual relations after the Cuban revolution in 1959 and the role of Czechoslovakia in the process of consolidation of the regime of Fidel Castro. Later the author is concentrating on the core of the paper, which is divided into four chapters. These chapters are analyzing in detail particular areas of mutual relations - political, economic, scientific and technical cooperation and cultural. In the political area author is investigating the changes in international relations in connection with advent of Ronald W. Reagan and Mikhail S. Gorbachev and its influences on the relations between Czechoslovakia and Cuba. In the eighties the core of relations had been shifted into the economic sphere and trade, loans and investment units which were often discussed and also were sources of disputes. Scientific and technical cooperation and culture were traditional forms of mutual relations and also during the eighties the cooperation was intense. In the end the author states that the relations in the reporting period are best described by the word "stability" because in the comparison with the years after the Cuban revolution lost it is own dynamic.
Change in the American policy towards Cuba during Barack Obama's administration

This bachelor thesis deals with American foreign policy towards Cuba after President Barack Obama became president. The main objective of this work is to answer how the US- Cuban relationship has changed since 2009, and to show the positive approach of the new president and his government administration towards Cuba and their share on these changes. The thesis analyses factors that resulted in gradual releasing of political tension between the US and Cuba, events that contributed to this process over the years 2009-2014 and steps that US and Cuban governments have undertaken to develop mutual cooperation. The work focuses mainly on the influence throughout presidency of Obama and his efforts to start negotiations with Cuban government. Along with this, the thesis analyses matters that prevented and still partly prevent full recovery of US-Cuban future cooperation, such as economic embargo imposed on Cuba and lack of Cuban respect for human rights. The author comes to conclusion that recovery of diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba in December 2014 is mainly the result of forthcoming policy of Barack Obama, who refused to go on in non-functional form of the anti-Cuban policy, applied by most American Presidents since the 60s. Relationship between Czechoslovakia and Egypt in the Years 1952-1958

The thesis deals with the relationship between Czechoslovakia and Egypt during the years 1952 - 1958. This period was chosen because many important historical events took place that time. Egypt went through the revolution of 1952 as well as the Suez Crisis and joined political union with Syria. The thesis is divided into three parts, where the first and main section is dedicated to the political relationship between both states. The following chapter is focused on cultural issues and the last one is devoted to the economic relationship. The aim of the thesis is to analyze these relations and their development. As far as the sources of information are concerned, it was necessary to study extensive archive materials, which are mainly preserved in the Archive of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Obama's Foreign Policy towards BRIC(s) in first functional term (2009-2012)

Thesis deals with the foreign policy of Barack Obama's in first term 2009 - 2012. The aim is evaluate the U. S. foreign policy towards to BRIC(S) in this term. To acronym BRIC(S) partnership brings together world powers Russia and China and regional powers Brasil, India and South Africa. Introduction is dedicated to the characteristics of the main actors, the USA, president Obama and BRIC(S). The next section presents the assumptions of the U. S. foreign policy, factors and its limits. Finally anlyzes the foreign policy of Barack Obama. The analyses showed the different approach in its foreign policy toward superpowers China and Russia on one hand and regional powers Brazil, India and South Africa on the other.
Tradition and Present of Czech-Liechtenstein relations

The thesis describes development of Czech--Liechtenstein relations. The diplomatic relations between Czechoslovakia and the Principality of Liechtenstein were established only from 1938 to 1939 and were restored between the Czech Republic and Liechtenstein in 2009. The thesis aims to find the reasons, that caused this situation. The thesis is focused on the time period from 13th century when Jindřich I. of Liechtenstein gained Mikulov in Moravia, until today. It was dispute over the property that influenced mutual relations of these countries.
Diplomatic relations between the USA and the People's Republic of China

In my thesis I analyze the diplomatic relations between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China and their influence not only on the Pacific region but also on the rest of the world. The thesis relies especially on written pieces on the topic as there is sufficient amount of them with regard to the broadness of the topic. The aim of the thesis is to describe the development of the diplomatic relations between the two states in the international framework, to record the circumstances which forced each state to take the position to another and the impact which the development of mutual relations had to the world. The thesis is divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter maps the period of the time from the end of the 19th century to the establishment of the People's Republic of China. It deals with the problems of the open door policy, The World War Two and the following third Chinese civil war. The second chapter investigates the Korean War and its incidence on the mutual relations. Next chapter is focused on the normalization of the mutual diplomatic relations in particular in the 1970s. In the last chapter I analyze creation of the triangular diplomacy, the impact of the normalization on the Pacific region and the admission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations.
Tradition and present of the Czech-Danish relations

The diploma thesis describes and analyses relations between the Czech state and the Kingdom of Denmark. It is focused on the time period from the Middle Ages till today, however the key part examines the 20th century. The diploma thesis comprises several areas of the Czech-Danish relations, mainly deals with the political and diplomatic affairs and focuses also on economic and cultural connections. Due to lack of printed sources the thesis draws from the materials of the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and is therefore the first comprehensive overview of the relations between these two states.
