Matoušková, Kateřina ; Pavlíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Jankovcová, Kateřina (referee)
v AJ: The work has two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with the development, structure and function of teeth, and also deals with the causes of tooth caries and its complications. The next chapter focuses on the prevention of dental caries, oral hygiene, on the importance of preventive inspections, and on a proper diet. The members of the dental team are also introduced here. The final chapter of the theoretical part is focused on education and its importance. The aim of the empirical part is to assess the awareness of parents regarding the prevention of dental caries of their children and to evaluate the effectiveness of preventive dental care. The empirical part is based on a survey conducted in randomly selected kindergartens and primary schools in Prague 12 and in children's dental office located there. The respondents of the survey are parents of children aged from 3 to 14 years attending their dentists in Prague 12. Our statistical analysis is based on 204 questionnaires. The results suggest that the parents taking part in our survey are unable to fully comply with the recommendations mentioned below, and that the effectiveness of the preventive dental care of children who attend their dentists in Prague 12 is not sufficient. In conclusion, the thesis presents a...
Non randomised selection of a group of dental patients, a study of relations between risk factors and the state of dental health.
Nekůžová, Dora ; Ehler, Edvard (advisor) ; Přívratský, Vladimír (referee)
In my thesis I focused on the relationship between the influence of risk factors and the dental health status. The evaluation of the results was made on the basis of testing and verification of the set hypotheses, using my own graphs and statistical evaluation (in the program Statistica 6.0). For the research I used the data of 613 dental patients. I could draw these data from the provided file of their medical cards. The study is divided into the theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I focused on the anatomical structure of teeth, on dental caries, dental stone, and their creation and prevention. A large part of my work is dedicated to disease of the oral cavity and its hygiene. In this section I deal with various types of periodontal diseases (chronica of gingivitis, periodontitis) and their prevention. The practical part deals with the hypotheses themselves. I set seven hypotheses. The set hypotheses focus on risk factors, namely sex, residence, age, oral hygiene, frequency of preventive medical examinations, and illnesses which the patients suffer from. I evaluated the influence of these risk factors with regard to the cariosity and overall dental health of the dental patients. The results show that there is a difference in the state of the dental health according to the gender (the...

Primary Prevention in Care of Teeth
ZELENKOVÁ, Kateřina
I have chosen the topic primary prevention in dental care because I was interested in it and I think it is very up to date. Dental care has been under sustainable development and research provides new trends in this range. It is difficult for either dentists or patients to watch this development and notice everything what is new. Primary prevention in the dental care is a system of measures performed to stop creation of teeth and dental adnexa diseases. As primary prevention we consider health education, dental hygiene, keeping rules of healthy nutrition. The research work was focused on parents of young children who gather their relationship to the dental care and whose consistent training may influence their attitude for the whole life. The aim of my work was {\clq}q To investigate parents knowledge of the prevention of dental deseases at children`` and {\clq}q To investigate the attitude of parents to the prevention of dental deseases at children``. To realize my aims I used the technique of questionnaires. The research group was formed by parents of children in kinder gardens in České Budějovice. My research work was based on three hypotheses:`` Parents are informed about the prevention of dental deseases at their children``, {\clq}qParents teach their children how to perform the dental hygiene``, and {\clq}qParents visit the dentist with the children since their three years age``. All three hypotheses were partly proved. Parents knowledge should be focused mainly on basic equipment for cleaning, using correct technique of cleaning teeth and preventive examinations. This information should be provided by medics in surgeries, via leaflets, magazines, preventive programmes or TV programmes. Parents should take care about the teeth of their children since their infant age, motivate their children to the dental care, search for new information and visit a dentist with their children regularly. Both goals were accomplished. Results of this research work may be used in the practical life as a base for further research work. They may also be used for creation of information material or programmes to support preventive dental care. Kinder gardens where this research work was performed will be informed about the results and they can use it for creation or improvement of the dental care programmes.
