Usage of GPOP in the international research

The theme of the thesis is the use of a questionnaire GPOP (Golden Profiler of Personality) in international research, specifically in the Czech Republic and Switzerland. The theoretical part is devoted to the three basic thematic areas, which are interconnected through the influence of C. G. Jung: cross-cultural comparison of the Czech Republic and Switzerland, Jung's typology, from which GPOP questionnaire derives from and mid-life issues described by Jung as individuation process. The emphasis is placed mainly on various forms of cross- cultural research and cultural standards in both countries on the basis of thereof the results are interpreted. The empirical part includes a detailed description of the questionnaire method and a sample of studied people. It is followed by a quantitative study in which there are statistically compared results of the four basic dimensions GPOP test pro-bands in the Czech Republic and Switzerland. An overview of personality types in individual countries and comparison of personality differences on cross-cultural background comes after. Finally, it assesses the work with GPOP method and its application.

Annotation: The work entitled Problems of intercultural communication based on differences in vocabulary Czech and German deals with the causes of differences in the two languages. It focuses primarily on the relationship of language and culture, from which the language originated. Specifies the individual links, or areas in the language, which the culture is reflected in action in. The work analyzes the relationships within the language.
Cultural standards of the USA

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to describe the features of the American culture by analyzing the cultural standards, use them for comparison with the Slovak culture and create a set of recommendations for easier adaptation of the Slovaks in the United States. The work is divided into three parts - theoretical, practical and empirical. In the theoretical section we define the concept of culture, cultural standards and cultural dimensions, and on this basis we compare the features of the American and Slovak culture. The practical part describes the characteristics of the USA - national symbols, history, geography, religion, population, economy, political system, basic features of the US market, the impact of globalization and the specifics of the US business environment. The empirical section uses a questionnaire survey to examine the American culture from the Slovak point of view. The result of this thesis is a manual created with the use of the synthesis and comparison methods.
Cultural Standards of New Zealand

This master thesis is focused on cultural standards of New Zealand. The main aim of this thesis is to define cultural standards of New Zealand and compare them with the theory. The first part of the diploma thesis is focused on theory of culture, cultural dimensions and standards, as well as different concepts of cultural dimensions applied on the Czech and New Zealand culture. The practical part describes the basic characteristics of the country, political and economical system, business dealings and diplomatic protocol. The last part is based on empirical research and defines cultural standards of New Zealand from the Czech perspective.
Czech-German cultural dimensions and standards in the environment of Czech and German young people

Thesis contents definition of term culture, both it´s older definition and also it´s newer conception from authors representing various sciences. In the next part of this thesis is described current usage of the term culture. After that conceptions of cultural dimensions and standards are explained. Big part of the thesis is devoted to the specific contrasting Czech-German dimensions and standards, both from a czech point of view and from a german perspective. Starting point for a verification of these culture dimensions and standards is a questionnaire survey, conducted in the environment of Czech and German young people. Based on this research the Czech-German culture dimensions and standards are proven or refuted.
Francouzské kulturní standardy z české perspektivy ve studijním prostředí

The Czech Republic and the French Republic are both situated in the European continent and only one other country lays between them. Geographically are very close, however, culturally are very different. At the first glance, the distinctions might not be so significant. However, commonly after the arrival, a foreign student experiences misunderstandings, inconvenient situations and cultural shock due to the lack of knowledge of the unfamiliar culture. Therefore, it is essential to understand the differences in order to successfully integrate and ease the stay while studying abroad. This Bachelor thesis concentrates on cultural standards of Alexander Thomas and how they influence everyday life of the Czech students in France. The main aim is to define the Czech-French cultural standards and compare them with the theory. Also, the standards will be applied on the historic-cultural aspects. At the end of this Bachelor thesis, the recommendations and guidance will be provided for those students interested in studying in the French Republic.
České kulturní standardy z vietnamské perspektivy v pracovním a studijním prostředí

This Bachelor Thesis is focused on the Czech cultural standards from the perspectives of both Vietnamese workers and students living in the Czech Republic. The Theoretical Part begins with defining culture, the cultural dimensions according to the two authors Geert Hofstede and Fons Trompenaars, and the cultural standards of Alexander Thomas. Then it describes possible problems and conflicts that may occur when different cultures clash. Lastly, information about both Vietnam and the Czech Republic was provided. This information consists of geography, economy, political system, history, customs, beliefs, and the people of each respective country. In the Practical Part, 24 respondents from work and study environments were selected to participate in qualitative interviews, where they provide answers to questions based on the previously mentioned cultural dimensions. The results from the interviews were analyzed to define the Czech cultural standards as observed by the Vietnamese workers and students. In the end 10 recommendations were listed to help Vietnamese people improve their interaction with their Czech peers.
České kulturní standardy z kazašské perspektivy

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the investigation of Czech cultural standards from Kazakh perspective in the study environment. The main aim is to identify Czech cultural standards through the view of Kazakh students. In the beginning of the thesis are presented the definition of culture, models of culture and cultural dimensions investigated by E.T.Hall, G.Hofstede, F. Trompenaars, and cultural standards by A.Thomas. In the following chapters are provided information about the Czech Republic (basic overview); also the description of the systems in society, and information about Czech-Kazakh relationships (history and future perspectives). This thesis provides with twelve Czech-Kazakh cultural standards in the study environment, which were identified based on qualitative research; then this result was compared with the theoretical background about identity and key values of Czech people. Finally, the thesis provides some recommendations for Kazakhs who are going to study with Czechs.
Vietnamsko-české a česko-vietnamské kulturní standardy v obchodních jednání

The primary focus of this bachelor thesis is to reveal cultural standards that exist in the eyes of Czechs who have had a working experience with the Vietnamese and in the eyes of Vietnamese who have had a working experience with Czechs. First the thesis starts off with a definition of culture alone cultural dimensions according to Geert Hofstede Fons Trompenaars and Edward T. Hall and lastly cultural standards according to Alexander Thomas are covered. The explanation of geographical and historical aspects which influenced the Czech culture and both geographical and historical aspects which influenced the Vietnamese culture is following. Furthermore the history of the Czech Vietnamese relations as well as the development of this relationship is described. Afterwards there is a description of the five Vietnamese cultural standards derived from the interviews conducted with the Czechs and three Czech cultural standards derived from interviews conducted with the Vietnamese. The thesis concludes with suggestions for smoother communication and interaction between people from the two different countries and cultures.
Cultural standards on the economic growth of Peru

The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the fusion of the Peruvian cultural sphere and its respective economic environment based on method of synthesis. Dissecting a number of demographic phenomena, this complex study examines Peruvian cultural standards on the grounds of ethnic and linguistic observations along with defining the importance of national cultural heritage, and it investigates how these cultural standards affect the economic climate of Peru. In addition, the study pays particular attention to the role of state ministries and their respective actions.
