Design-Build Delivery Method and its Respective Application in the Czech Republic

This Diploma thesis follows up the award of public contracts using the Design-Build method. The first part focuses on the description of individual procurement methods and their advantages and disadvantages. In addition, the basic types of FIDIC terms and connditions are compared here. The second part describes and evaluates the terms of reference for specific projects commissioned by Design-Build in the Czech Republic. There is also a questionnaire survey that examines the viewpoints, knowledge and experience of contracting authorities with this method.

The valuation of the engineering works

The aim of this Bachelor thesis was to suggest the structure and the process of the valuation of engineer work in the period of investment preparation. The work presents the ways of valuation in the Czech Republic, the suggestion of the process of the evaluation of engineer work according to which the price of a particular construction will be determined and will be created a case study and written a contract for work.

Reconstruction of detached house in Netřeby

Village house, construction work, built-in attic The bachelor thesis deals with the construction works of a family house. This work is based on the owner’s wishes. He would like to implement a similar project in the future. The work is focused on the built-in of attic in the part of farmhouse which contains most of the construction changes. This space will be used for ceramic and other free time activities. Furthermore, the thesis deals with other construction works in the object such as building insulation, undercutting of the existing walls, construction of new floors etc.

Analysis of the construction cost estimation

The subject of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of the price development of the extension of the kindergarten Újezd and selected items from the budget. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts of price theory, costing, construction budget and costs. The practical part examines the development of selected items and materials from the budget and the total cost of construction from 2016 to 2023. The output of this work is a description and graphical representation of the development of prices of works and materials.

Subject matter of performance and liability for a breach of obligations from contracts for work in international trade

This dissertation deals with how the subject matter of performance under a contract for work is defined and issues related to formulating the rights and obligations ensuing therefrom. At the same time, it seeks common legal sources existing across national laws which provide definitions thereof. It attempts to find a common definition of contracts for work and how they differ from other similar contracts. It further defines some common basic features and problems related to contracts for work which apply in international trade or in cases where parties decide to formulate their contract by reference to international contract conditions. In that context, it primarily refers to construction contracts as the most common type of contract for work in international trade. At the same time, it focuses on the possible consequences of a breach of contract and emphasizes some parties' claims ensuing therefrom. Moreover, this work examines the definition of work defects and conditions for asserting claims as a specific topic, which relates to the definition of the subject matter of a contract for work and its basic features. Reconstruction of the house on plot no.47 in Slavkov u Brna

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the design of a complete reconstruction and modernization of an existing family house in the center of Slavkov u Brna. The existing building is located in a terraced house in Husova Street. The new state includes a complete modernization of the interior, reconstruction of the original historic facade, the outbuilding of the original building and the superstructure of a new one with a link to the original object. The new state has one underground floor, three above – ground floors and a terrace. There are three apartments, two offices and three garages on the upper floors. There is a warehouse in the basement. In the existing building, the original supporting system made of polygonal walls is preserved, modified and supplemented with supporting components. New outbuilding has a transverse wall supporting system and ceiling structure made of monolithic reinforced concrete. Ceiling structures are interconnected with supporting walls. Facade insulation is solved by the ETICS system and the historic facade on the south side is renovated. The roof over both objects is created by a combination of sloping and flat roofs with a connection to the surrounding buildings. Bachelor thesis includes the creation of project documentation for construction execution according to the assignment.

Comparison of oriented and calculated prices of works

The aim of this work is to compare the guide and calculated prices of selected items for a family house. The work will be divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the terms related to this work will be explained and in the practical part the prices of URS and FA KRATKY will be compared, the evaluation will be carried out with justification of the results. Finally, the prices of several items will be compared and evaluated between RTS, KROS 4 and FA KRATKY. The input item used will be an itemized budget for a particular building.
