Stress and strain analysis of connecting rod in combustion engine using FEM
Biječek, Tomáš ; Hutař, Pavel (referee) ; Vaverka, Michal (advisor)
In this diploma thesis is completed the FEM analysis of connecting rod in combustion engine Briggs & Stratton of the garden lawnmower. Within the frame of computing in the FEM system ANSYS Workbench is solved static structural strein and stress analysis, buckling analysis a fatigue also. The boundary conditions for FEM computing come out from the kinematic and dynamic analysis of the crank-slider mechanism in combustion engine. The 3-D models of the crank-slider mechanism are created in parametric SolidWorks modeller. Own construction variants of the connecting rod based on results of FEM analysis are also designed.
Connecting rod of gas V-sixteen engine
Laštovica, Karel ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design of a stationary engine connecting rod, its stress analysis and its safety factors. The thesis is divided into several parts. At the beginning there is a short research of connecting rods construction and a description of the engine. Then the main dimensions of a piston group and a connecting rod are defined and its 3D model is created. Next, the calculations of forces acting on the connecting rod in the crankshaft mechanism, are carried out. The following part deals with a stress analysis of the model created by MPK. From the obtained stress results, the safety factor at fatigue limit in chosen places of the connecting rod is calculated. In the conclusion, the results of the stress analysis and set safety factor level, are recapitulated.
Piston group of in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine
Král, Stanislav ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The aim of the thesis, it is strength control group of ordinary four-cylinder piston gasoline engine. In the first part of the specified thermodynamic, geometric and operational parameters of the motor piston group will calculate the thermodynamic cycle. Furthermore, we see the effects of force acting on the piston group in the most strained moments of the cycle. For the reconstructed load piston group perform voltage control in piston pin and strength control rods of the eye. In conclusion, we compare the calculated values of permissible stress values and find a design safety factor for the part.
Connecting Rod Design of Diesel Aircraft Engine
Maršálek, Ondřej ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with complex connecting rod design of two stroke diesel engine with regard to minimising its weight. Three versions of design are suggested and for each of them the stress analyses are implemented and the fatigue safety factors are determined. On the basis of results of implemented analyses and evaluation of all the aspects the most appropriate design is chosen and the production drawing is drawn according to it. In the conclusion, hydrodynamic lubrication plain bearings, which are the integral part of every connecting rod, are designed.
Formula 1 Engines
Kaňa, Roman ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes construction of some functional parts of the Formula 1 engine. In the first part I focused on crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, valve gears and compared them with serial produced engines. The work further continues with the introduction of some unconventional solutions used on Formula 1 engines and comparison of the characteristics of known power units.
Connecting rod of four-stroke spark-ignition engine
Nguyen, Huy Long ; Svída, David (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
Purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to make research on connecting rods used in engines of cars, to design connecting rod for engine of given parameters, to make kinematic and dy-namic model of the crank mechanism and conduct its strength analysis. Design documenta-tion of proposed solution is included.
Four-cylinder in-line gasoline aircraft engine
Kučera, Ondřej ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the structural design of a steel connecting rod for the aircraft engine Walter Mikron III, which is currently still manufactured and developed by company PARMA-TECHNIK, s.r.o. The proposed connecting rod would replace the current duralumin connecting rod. The work also contains a strength analysis of the designed component, in which it was aimed to verify the stress on the connecting rod, based on which the fatigue safety factor was performed. This is crucial for dynamically stressed parts of internal combustion engines. Furthermore, was investigated the effect of the change of the connecting rod on the torsional vibration of the crank mechanism. For this purpose, was built a discrete torsion model. The output of the whole work is the drawing documentation of the new connecting rod, meeting the requirements for application in an aircraft engine.
Petrol seven-cylinder radial aircraft engine
Horváth, Tomáš ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to propose a drive train of a seven-cylinder radial engine, including strength analysis of selected components. The basic parameters of the engine cylinder are based on the Škoda 1.2 HTP 12V 47kW AZQ engine.
Use of the CAM software PowerMILL 2018 for machining of a mold
Drbal, Jindřich ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
The subject of submitted diploma thesis is complete structure of procedures necessary for the designing and subsequent production of forging dies for production of semi-finished connecting rods. The initial part deals with the design of forging die. Following part is consisted of materials used for production of this type of tools. Ensuing is proposal of tooling for machining of the die following with simulation of the milling processes.
Petrol three-cylinder radial aircraft engine
Břečka, Marek ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to design a powertrain of petrol three-cylinder radial aircraft engine with the main parameters specified (bore, stroke, etc.), balancing inertia forces, stress analysis and determining of fatigue of the selected parts.
