The paper examines in detail the production and consumption of bio products, especially bio-eatables in the carefully selected array of sample countries. The section focusing on the Czech Republic demonstrates the structural and consumer development of bio products. Additionally, the Czech market is then compared with the world market and the factors that affect the production and consumption are highlighted. The examination of the raw data from both the world and the Czech market supports the first hypothesis that there is an increasing growth pattern in the bio product market worldwide. Second hypothesis focusing on the demand for bio products in the Czech market was not affirmed after careful scrutiny of the Czech bio product market. With regards to the elevated bio product prices and consumer's distrust in their quality, the bio product demand in the recent years had suffered from a decreasing trend.
