Druhová diverzita, početnost a význam pavouků (Arachnida, Araneae) na listnatých dřevinách v arboretu Mendelovy univerzity v Brně
Bernatová, Martina
The aim of my work was to find out the species diversity and the number of spiders in the arboretum of Mendel University in Brno and also to deduce their significance and last but not least to assess the importance of arboretums, parks and other urban greenery as areas of biological diversity in urban areas. Within the research fifteen deciduous trees were selected, located in different parts of the arboretum. The spiders were collect by using two capture methods, a shaking off method and a selection of cardboard belts method. Shaking off took place within the research four times, namely 11.5.2017, 14.6.2017, 1.8.2017 and 18.9.2017. A selection of cardboard belts took place twice, 28.6.2017 and 19.10.2017. In both methods, a total of 303 adult specimens of spiders belonging to 45 species, 36 genera and 14 families were obtained and determined. The most frequently represented was the species of Philodromus cespitum, which accounted for more than a third of the captured material (over 33%). This species belongs to species capable of living even in disturbed biotopes of urbanized areas, so its considerable representation is expectable. Within the research, however, several threatened species were acquired, species that occur only in a natural, undisturbed environment. From this fact, it can be concluded that the environment of the arboretum is at least partially a natural environment for the occurrence of different species, from which it can be deduced that arboretums, parks and similar greenery in cities are indeed a place of biodiversity. This conclusion is important also for arboristic practices, as well as the fact that spiders are important invertebrate predators and can therefore be used for biological protection in cities (where it is inappropriate to use chemical preparations for plant protection) and also outside them. Endangered and rare species that have been identified in the arboretum within the research can also be used to bioindicate the quality of the environment in the arboretum and similarly spiders can be used for the bioindication in urban parks and other urban greenery as well as in open landscapes.

Havlíková, Michaela
ABSTRAKT/ Abstract Autor práce/ Author: Michaela Havlíková, DiS. Název práce: Oborové dokumenty pro výkon správy objektu veřejné zeleně Title: Subject documents for the management of public greenery Vedoucí práce/ Supervisor: Ing. Lukáš Štefl, Ph.D. In this work were described field documents for the administration of public greenery, outlined the development of methodology and approaches to evaluation of woody vegetation elements and summarized current trends. An overview of the development of the given issue and methodology in the evaluation of woody vegetation elements, dendrological exploration and dendrological potential processing was elaborated. Part of the thesis is a dendrological survey of model territory and evaluation of its dendrological potential. The Dukla Arboretum in Pardubice was chosen as the model area for evaluation. The results of the evaluation showed that it is an object with a high dendrological potential, where the composition is not in danger of breaking. However, regular care is a prerequisite for maintaining the status quo. A plan of growing recommendations for woody vegetation elements was prepared for the object. The proposed planting measures were priced according to the Catalog of Descriptions and Target Prices of Construction Works, HSV 2017 823-1 Areas and Landscaping, ÚRS Praha. Finally, general recommendations and recommendations for building management were formulated.
Design of sustainable urban structure of the 21st century in the Czech Republic
Boháčová, Denisa ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is solving the design of a sustainable urban structure of the 21st century in Brno, in the area of Kasárna in Černá pole. The thesis is trying to create a neighborhood that would serve not only to the needs of the millennials, but of every generation. It is trying to build a city for the people. I am designing the new development as a lively, diverse and flexible neighborhood which considers the history of the area. I am conserving its rectangular shape in the urban footprint. I am designing a city with clearly defined public spaces. I am opening the neighborhood to the public and therefor allow it to newly connect with neighboring districts. The goal of the design is to create a modern neighborhood that will function as a new subcenter of the city of Brno.
Complex urban study of the public space Sportovní, Drobného, Tř. gen. Píky, Porgesova
Polonyankina, Natalia ; Velek, Jan (referee) ; Jenčková, Barbora (advisor)
Due to diverse surrounding area and position of isolated large objects suggest itself solving of conception by stages. In the southern part there were suggested new sports halls which have a long term tradition in this area. These buildings keep to the axis of Sportovní street and they are reacting to existing buildings on the other side. In the northern part at the shopping centre it was necessary make the place accesible and grass the place over and use the opportunity of the large space. In the northeastern part there is housing development and it reacts on the FRRMS building and it makes confotable enviroment for living. Buildings FRRMS together with rampats and bushy vegetation are isolating flat buildings. Effort to connect existing and establish new resulted in the simple solution solution that does not disrupt the neighborhood, on the contrary, trying to blend in with the city and calm the chaos in this area.
Selected Botanical Gardens and Arboretums of Secondary Schools in the Czech Republic and Its Use in Teaching
Smáhová, Monika ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor) ; Hrouda, Lubomír (referee)
This thesis deals with three selected school botanical gardens and two school arboretums in the Czech Republic. For each of the five selected units are provided basic informations, history, some of cultivated plant species, schedule of events and use in teaching. The next part of the thesis contains suggestions on the use of The Botanical Garden in Rakovník in teaching. Botanical gardens and arboretums are very important and interesting places. Their basic function is educational and aesthetic. It is very important that teachers perceive the need to teach biology partly in nature and not only in the classroom. Key words: botanical garden, arboretum, relationship to the environment, educational process
Inventory of woody plants in Libosad in CULS area in Prague and elaboration of the digital map of this area
Rezková, Kristýna ; Kunt, Miroslav (advisor) ; Prokeš, Radek (referee)
This bachelor degree work consists of two parts. Its literary research deals with the analysis of various irreplaceable tasks of green vegetation in urban environment, specific features of planting greenery and taking care of it, typifying of green areas in settled places and, last but not least, the importance of its legal protection. The following part of the research deals with Libosad in the campus of the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague. It describes the geological, geomorphological, pedological and climatic conditions of the site and the history of the birth of Libosad. It also describes the methodology by Professor Machovec which was used for data gathering in the Libosad park of the Czech University of Agriculture. The practical part of the work deals with re-inventory of woody plants and perennials in the Libosad of the CUA. The work was based on inventories which had been realized in previous years. The methodology by Professor Machovec was used to take the measurements of deciduous trees, bushes, coniferous woody plants and perennials. All the data were registered in inventory tables and all items were recorded in the file of CAD programme. The data output provides three documents: the map of Libosad with all the plants recorded in it and equipped with a special code for each item, an inventory map with graphic representation of the items´ value in landscape gardening and treetops´ projections, and the map of landmarks of Libosad. All the research was also documented by photos which were later inserted into an interactive table on the web mapserver with public access. The flora of Libosad includes 2,045 items in 78 families. The total of 137 deciduous trees (23 genera), 643 items of deciduous bushes (83 genera), 863 items of coniferous woody plants (23 genera) and 398 perennials and grasses (109 genera) can be found in the place. The most numerous genus among deciduous trees is the Acer with 34 items, deciduous bushes are represented by the genus Rosa with 54 items, number one among coniferous trees and bushes being the genus Pinus (164 items). Owing to the juvenile stage of the major part of the collection, the condition of the park is very good. The majority of items are of class III value in landscape gardening (1188 items), followed by class II (319 items), class IV (82 items) and class I (52 items).
Inventarizace a historická analýza exotických dřevin na výzkumném stacionáru Silviculturum v Olomučanech
Kriklová, Tamara
The aim of the thesis was to carry out a historical analysis of the stationary. The current state of tree species, especially the intruducted ones, was determined and their locations were placed into a designed map. The inventory of the current state was then carried out. The data were collected in the area of the research stationary Silviculturum in Olomučany in the years 2014 -2015. The measured values (height of tree, live crown ratio, trunk diameter at breast height, width of crown, number of trunks,...) were compared with the historical data and growth potential of trees was evaluated. Finally, the suitability for local introduction was determined. The outcomes of the thesis are three proposals for future management of the stationary by the Mendel University in Brno.

Ponava – potential of area development
Štrba, Matej ; Wittmann, Maxmilian (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the project is to focus on the future development of an underused urban space of Ponava, to enhance its qualities and to find suitable programme according to general principles of sustainable development. In todays´less favorable economical situation I´m trying to propose interventions, that do not start ´tabula rasa´ and destroy what has been abandoned in time(the stadium), rather they add new layers on it and combine different kinds of social groups in a specific public place.
