Air quality in buildings
Kops, Tomáš ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out by measuring the production of carbon dioxide that man produces in various types of physical activity. Using the model, the goal is to simulate real carbon dioxide production for a type object and to design a way of automatic regulation, air supply and drainage to obtain better indoor environment (represented by carbon dioxide).
Comparison of measurement Vernier sensors focused on medicine
WIMMER, Roman
The diploma thesis describes selected Vernier sensors and demonstrates their utilization in schools. The selection of digital tools is focused on medial area. In particular, the thesis deals with the ECG, spirometer, and dynamometer sensors. In the theoretical part, the history of the Vernier company is presented and the Vernier system and its benefits are discussed with special regard to the workflow from preparation phase to the process of measuring which can be used in classrooms. The research part consists of individual measuring experiments utilizing the sensors and their comparison with medical tools.
Vital capacity in adolescent artistic gymnasts
Moláčková, Marcela ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Krištofič, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Vital capacity in adolescent artistic gymnasts Objectives: The objective of this study was to estimate the influence of gymnastics training on the forced vital capacity (FVC) in young gymnasts compared to their untrained peers. Methods: The study included children aged 6 to 10 years. Basic anthropometry, spirometry using a portable spirometer, and the number of training hours per week were investigated. Children were gathered from three occasions: during a sport event series for children called Sporťáček, at the Christmas competition in Vršovice, and in the sports club SK Hradčany. Results: 287 children (167 girls and 120 boys; six to ten years old) participated in the study. FVC was lower in all gymnasts compared to untrained children of the same gender, but these results were not statistically significant. According to the generalized linear model adjusted for age and height, boys who trained ˂4 hours had odds to have worse FVC than their untrained peers; however, this was also not statistically significant. Keywords: Spirometer, FVC
Calibration unit for spirometer
Burian, Tomáš ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The task of the semester project was to become acquainted with methods of calibrating the spirometer and creating a calibration unit. Calibration unit must be able to calibrate both by volume and by speed. Because of that, the manual calibration of calibration cylinder is provided with a stepper motor mounted to the cylinder piston. The designed PCB will also be controlled by a program to control a stepper motor. The control system will contain 16 different options of selecting the speed of the piston
Shape changes in the axial system during respiration
Slawiková, Eliška ; Šorfová, Monika (advisor) ; Dudová, Agnieszka (referee)
The name of the work: Shape changes in the axial system during respiration Goal of the work: the main objective is to perform a case study of brass parameters and changes the shape of the trunk during the ventilation maneuver, prepare the correct methodology of research and to conduct separate measurements. The thesis will be divided into two parts, the first will contain the theoretical background to the subject, in the second part will then be described by the research, where I measured the change in the volume of the lungs in relation to time, assess the impact of implemented ventilation maneuver on the individual probands and examine the respiratory dynamics in selected ventilation maneuver. Methods: in the framework of the fulfilment of the tasks of this work have been carried out experiments with the use of 3D kinematic record with Qualisys and spirometric measurement. The experiment involved three probands aged 20 to 40 specific common features. Each of the proband performed during the measurement of quiet breathing, maximum inhalation and exhalation and ventilation maneuver. Measurements were carried out in one day under standard conditions, measurements made on the day of probands quiet breathing, maximum inhalation and exhalation and ventilation maneuver (5 min total). Data records were...
Spirometry data analysis software
Rovná, Tereza ; Štohanzlová, Petra (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the pulmonary function tests. The first part focuses on basic respiratory data, ventilation diseases and parameters of evaluation. The second part describes diagnostic methods in detail. These methods are used to obtain functional parameters of lung function, especially spirometry. The third part focuses on NI DAQ, spirometer´s probe, spirometer SPIROBANK, DT and spirometry data analysis software developed in LabVIEW 2013. The fourth part deals with comparison of results from my own spirometry data analysis software, spirometric probe and SPIROBANK DT.
Comparison of spirometric instruments' precision
Chmelíková, Lucie ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with pulmonary testing with emphasis to spirometry. In the first part is introduced and described pulmonary system and its attributes. There is a clear and complete list of pulmonary characteristics and parameters. It contains integrated summary of principles that are used for pulmonary measurement devices. First part is followed by description of created virtual device using LabVIEW programming. Simple meter of lung volumes can easily create spirometric curve and automatically evaluate desired values of volume. Program is further enhanced with optional archiving of measured spirometric curve. The last part of this thesis uses statistic testing for deciding of validity or invalidity of hypothesis. By statistic testing of hypothesis we are gaining and expanding basic knowledge about spirometric devices.
Spirometric measurements
Vecheta, Miroslav ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with a method of Pulmonary Function Test called Spirometry and it consist of two main parts. The first part is important for introduction to lungs physiology, pathophysiology and their anatomy and for basic methods of lung function testing. The second part continues with implementation of a spirometer within graphical enviroment of LabView. This spirometer is able to show a spirometric curve and to analyse and calculate particular parameters. The final data can be saved in a text file. Also there are instructions to use the spirometer in a laboratory task.
Respiratory biofeedback
Jína, Miroslav ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Janoušek, Oto (advisor)
The aim of this study is to analyze biological feedback, its use and types of biofeedback, which can be used. There is also enumeration of different types of games, which are used for the therapeutic treatment. This work describes in detail the measurement of respiratory biofeedback with chest strap. MP35 acquisition unit and a LabView program, in which the signal is transmitted through the measuring card, is used for measure. This work also describes the role of protocol for measuring respiratory biofeedback. The other important part of this study is the own draft of games made in LabView 2010. This program includes four theapeutic games.
Motor performance and somatic characteristics of children aged 7 and 10 years
KOLMANOVÁ, Aneta
The aim of the thesis was to detect motor development, body size and body composition of children aged 7 and 10 years. From the measured data were selected average values of body height, body weight, the circumference of waist and hips and these values were compared with the average values of the previous research. The selected values of body composition were obtained thanks to Bodystat device. The average values of forced vital capacity were obtained thanks to spirometer device and the average values of Ruffierova's test were selected as well. The results of motor tests were also compared with the previous research. All obtained values are summarized in tables and graphs.
