Comparison of olympic broadcasting on czech television from winter olimpic games 2010 and 2014

This thesis principally compares the Olympic broadcasting on the Czech Television covering Winter Olympic Games 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi. The first part of the text defines the concept of Olympism, the history of the Olympic Games and the Czechoslovak Olympic Committee, and the current form of the Games and their future. The further analysed Winter Olympics 2010 and 2014 are being briefly described in this section as well. Moreover, the relationship between sport and media, and the media event of the Olympic Games are being defined. Considerable attention is being given to the Olympic Television Broadcasting. Consequently, the history of broadcasting, broadcasting rights, commercialization of the Olympics, their funding, and the function of Olympic Broadcasting Services is being discussed too. The latter part is devoted to the Czech Television, its history and current form as a public service broadcaster. The chapters that deal with an analysis of Olympic broadcasting covering Vancouver and Sochi describe the Olympic teams of the Czech Television in Prague and in the Olympic venue, program schedules, and web specials. Sochi 2014 olympies in the czech contemporary press

The topic of this thesis is the reflection of XXII Olympic Winter Games in the Czech contemporary press. The aim is to find out in what way the selected press reported about it, more precisely to what extent it informed about the problematic and controversial aspects of its preparation in the period before and during the games. The analyzed period was set to be September 2013 - March 2014 and the chosen daily press includes Mladá fronta DNES and Lidové noviny as representants of rather right wing press, and Právo as a representant closer to the left side of the political spectrum. Weekly press in the analysis includes Týden and Respekt. The thesis is divided into two parts. Attitudes of Russian Population to Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014

Title: Attitudes of Russian Population to Winter Olympic Games in Sochi Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to determine attitudes of Russian population and residents of Sochi to XXII Winter Olympic Games. Another objective is to show advantages and disadvantages of hosting the Olympic Games and also to make recommendations, which can be used by government and sport institutions while organizing big sports events. Methods: Quantitative sociological research was made for the purpose of this thesis. Research was implemented by written, electronic and oral questioning .Obtained statistics were processed and analyzed.
