Secure User Authentication Using Smart Cards
Koutný, Tomáš ; Dzurenda, Petr (referee) ; Malina, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with Basic Card problém and their analysis in terms of the offered features cryptographic security measures. Elliptic curve method was used in this thesis. The thesis contains design of authentication protocol and its implementation.
Side-channel analysis
Novosadová, Tatiana ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Gerlich, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with an issue of side channels, elliptic curves and their implementation in algorithms. Theoretical part is aimed at describing the basic concepts and various possibilities of side-channel attacks, with a more detailed focus on power analysis. The second theoretical part is focused on describing methods of elliptic curves and different elliptic curves-based protocols. The practical part deals with implementation of such cryptosystem on smart card, using the experimental environment to measure power consumption and analysis of this consumption.
Microscopic Analysis of Smart Cards
Michálek, Martin ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Malčík, Dominik (advisor)
The Bakchelor's thesis is aimed at description of protection features of smart cards. It introduces technology of card and anatomy of the chip itself. Further can be found transparent list of concrete security features. This works includes a library for anotation of logic elements. The thesis contains the design, implementation and interface of this library.
SIM Card Reader
Buchta, Petr ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis focuses on implementation of a SIM card reader. Methods of data transmission are described here together with principles of file organization and data storage. As another topic, implemented functions in a SIM card used for manipulation with its contents, are described here. The FITkit platform and its utilities are used for the implementation of a SIM card reader.
Multiaplication smart cards
Meluzín, Ivo ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Sobotka, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of the first part of the thesis is to describe the options of wide usage of chip cards in different segments of our life. Consequently it is necessary to mention hardware and software equipment of smart card, its communication with terminal and data security. In this thesis we focus on Java Card environment in which we will try to create two applications, one for electronic purse and the second for user identification. Basically, we need to mention multiapplicational rules of sharing data and objects. At the end of the thesis we are focusing on the possibility of mutual interference between the applications and on protection against attacks. Also future applications of this technology are described.
Cryptanalysis of modern cryptographic devices
Fördős, András ; Člupek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
The thesis focuses on power analysis of modern cryptographic modules. The first part contains a brief introduction to the topic of the power side channel and basic methods of analyzes. The text describes the process of comparison of modules and a short description of devices found. In the practical part two modules has been selected for the implementation of the encryption algorithm AES-128. The first module was the chip card Gemalto .NET v2 and the second one was the Raspberry Pi. A workplace has been created for these modules which allowed to measure the power consumption of the algorithm AES. Differential Power Analysis has been made using the captured results. In its conclusion the work presents the results in tables and samples of source codes. Graphs were made from the results captured on the Raspberry Pi and from the results of the Differential Power Analysis.
Token based authentication
Loviška, Martin ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Franek, Lešek (advisor)
Thesis is dealing with possibilities of user authentication using a security token to Linux console and web applications. Theoretical part of this work is devoted to cryptography basics, particularly asymmetric cryptography algorithms . Thesis generally describes aut- hentication methods and includes a brief categorization of smart card devices. The practi- cal part deals with SmartCard - HSM device setup for a client and creating own certificate authority using this device. Finally, it presents a demonstration deploying smart card login to Linux and web applications using tokens.
Payment card systems
Flégl, Jan ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Morský, Ondřej (advisor)
The work is about payment card systems. We’d like to describe infrastructure of credit cards, ATMs, POS terminals , focusing on the EMV standard. In theoretical part we will be introduced with the history and development of credit cards, ATMs and POS terminals. Then we focus on a detailed description of payments terminals and possibilities of payment via the Internet. The most extensive theoretical part deals width EMV standard. In practical part we will make our own program, which authenticates the user based on his credit card and it will allow the user to login in the system. Source codes of this application can be found on enclosed CD.
Electronic ID security
Šánek, Jaromír ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
This work is dedicated the security of Electronic identity card and the platform of Multos smart card. In the first part are descripted symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms which are used in the area of eID. The second part is engaged the solution of electronic identity cards in Belgium, Estonia and Germany and Czech Republic. In this part are specified the eID, chips and digital certificates and applications. The part contains standard CEN TS 15480 European Citizen Card and access control mechanisms BAC, EAC and EAC v2. Next section is dedicated to describing the specification of passports with a chip and security of data stored on the chip. Last section is dedicated the practical part. In this part is described smart card Multos and development of applications for this smart card. Created application demonstrates the basic cryptographic functions. Between implemented functions are functions for generating random number, hash algorithm SHA-1, modular exponentiation and modular multiplication.
Smartcard Protocol Analyzer
Dzurňák, Tomáš ; Zbořil, František (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
The goal of this project is to develop a analyzer of communication between a smart card and reader terminal. The analyzer should be able to diagnose and control correlations of standards.  The thesis include description of standards to be familiar with and a detail description of standard ISO/IEC 7816-3, that introduce monitored protocol. The thesis also involves development kit features and a design of application.
