Non-traditional Musical Instruments and their Utilization in Music Education Lessons

This bachelor thesis Non-traditional Musical Instruments and their Utilization in Music Education Lessons focuses on homemade instruments and common objects and deals with their usage in elementary music activities. The chapter about musical instruments aims to classify the non-traditional instruments and puts them into the context of traditional and children's musical instruments. A Few examples of homemade musical instruments are given. Afterwards, advantages and disadvantages related to production and implementation of handcrafts in education are discussed, while considering various criteria (accessibility, pedagogical, and psychological points of view etc.). An emphasis is put on Orff-pedagogy, which can work as the basis for music education, utilizing non-traditional musical instruments. At the end of the thesis, activities and games developing musical abilities (primarily rhythmic ability) via the use of non-traditional musical instruments are included.
Development of musical perception in preschool children

The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter introduces us about development of musical skills in kindergarten. The second chapter deals with the development of the child in terms of mental, motor and meaning of family for the musical development of the child. The third and last chapter is devoted to a child in preschool age, musical education in kindergarten and part of it is also familiarization with range of musical activities. In the practical part, I developed a proposal activities that I realized with preschool children in kindergarten.
Rhythm Accompaniments of Rhymes and Songs for Kindergarten

The theoretical part of the thesis deals with a rhythmical feeling and possibilities of its benefit at nursery school, especially during body games and instrumental activities with nursery rhymes and folk songs utilization. The practical part composes of a program of rhythmical accompaniment to the nursery rhymes and folk songs with a gradual challenge for an age-mixed nursery school class. The program was executed in a group of children at the age of 3 - 5. The children accepted it positively, its difficulty was adequate to the children?s age. Methodological recommendations for creating the program are attached at the end of the thesis.
Development of Sense of Rhythm in Kindergarten

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of developing rhythmic awareness by children at nursery school. The theoretical part explains the terms rhythm and rhythmic awareness. The rhythm is described as a part of everyday human life and history of mankind. Then, developing rhythmic awareness by pre-school children and possibilities of its support, pedagogical evaluation of education results and self-reflexion are clarified. The practical part shows an example of a tree-month developing rhythmic awareness programme for children aged 5-6, the implementation of this programme is evaluated and a motion to measures for the programme optimization is made. A presentation of the rhythmic awareness programme is documented on the attached video.
Folk Song from the Region of Chodsko in Musical and Movement Activities

The subject of this work is the theme "Folk Song from the Region of Chodsko in Musical and Movement Activities". The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with folk song from the region of Chodsko and its use in integrated pre-school education, this part also refers to musical abilities and musical and movement skills and their intentional development. The practical part contains the programme of musical and movement activities based on the folk song from region of Chodsko and the research inquiry which is focused on level determination of sense of rhythm and movement and musical rhythm coordination before and after realization of the programme. The example of musical and movement activities from the programme, which can be successfully practised in nursery schools, is in the video attachement.
Developing of Rhythm Feeling in Children of Pre-school and Primary-school Age

The work deals with the developing of musical perception with the focus on musical rhythm in the out-of-school education. In more detail it analyses the components of rhythm, partition of rhythm and its development. Next the musical development of a child at pre-school and primary-school age is characterized. A great deal of the work is devoted to movement activities. It analyses their form, technique and possibilities of musical improvisation. It concerns the methods by Carl Orff, the techniques of musicalness cultivation and describes his armamentarium of children musical instruments. Next it deals with problems of music education and interaction between a musical pedagogue and a child. It is completed with samples of games developing the feeling of rhythm .
