Evaluation of the financial situation of a selected internationally operating company and suggestions for its improvement

The diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of the financial situation of a selected internationally operating company and on the basis of the analysed data to propose appropriate measures to improve the financial situation of the company. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part of the thesis deals with defining the concepts of analysis of the external and internal environment of the enterprise, financial analysis and inter-enterprise comparison. The second part focuses on the application of the individual procedures defined in the theoretical part, i.e. analysis of the internal and external environment of the company, financial analysis and inter-company comparison. The last part of the thesis, which is based on the results of the analytical part, is devoted to the actual proposal of a solution to improve the financial situation of the company.

Assessment of Economic Situation of the Company

This bachelor’s thesis evaluates the economic situation of the company STRIX Chomutov, a. s. based on a strategic and financial analysis during the years 2017-2022. The first part presents the theoretical basis of economic analysis, which are further applied in the analytical part. The analyzed company and its three selected competing companies are presented in this thesis. The analytical part presents the resulting values of economic indicators and the overall evaluation of the economic situation of the analyzed company. The company´s data are compared with competing companies and the industry average of specialized construction activities. The last part of the thesis is devoted to proposals that could lead to the improvement of the economic situation of the company. The proposal represents an investment in a drilling center, a comparison of various forms of its financing and the advantageous option.

Theoretical foundations of financial analysis are defined in the thesis, and the analysis methods are applied to the selected company. Based on the results of financial analysis and identified shortcomings, recommendations are formulated to improve the financial situation of the chosen enterprise.

The bachelor thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with the theoretical background, which is then applied in the analytical part. The second part deals with a detailed analysis of the current state of the company. The obtained results are then compared with a suitable competitor from the same business sector. The third part is used to make suggestions for improving the financial situation based on the results obtained in the analytical part.

This thesis deals with financial health assessment of selected internationally active company ManPlast, s.r.o. and proposals to improve it. The thesis is divided as follows: In the theoretical part, the basic concepts and formulas from the selected literature are clarified, which are then applied in the analytical part. The analysis part analyses the external and internal environment of the company and evaluates its financial situation. On the basis of the values obtained from the analytical part, the design part then proposes solutions that aim to achieve positive or economically beneficial transformations in order to improve the financial condition of the company.
