Teaching aids for 2D computer graphics
Malina, Jakub ; Průša, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
In this master’s thesis we focus on the basic properties of computer curves and their practical applicability. We explain how the curve can be understood in general, what are polynomial curves and their composing possibilities. Then we focus on the description of Bezier curves, especially the Bezier cubic. We discuss in more detail some of fundamental algorithms that are used for modelling these curves on computers and then we will show their practical interpretation. Then we explain non uniform rational B-spline curves and De Boor algorithm. In the end we discuss topic rasterization of segment, thick line, circle and ellipse. The aim of master’s thesis is the creation of the set of interactive applets, simulating some of the methods and algorithm we discussed in theoretical part. This applets will help facilitate understanding and will make the teaching more effective.

Library for graphic objects for microcontrollers Atmel AVR and graphic displays
Skopal, Miroslav ; Frýza, Tomáš (referee) ; Fedra, Zbyněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is concerned about the graphic LCD display control by the Atmel´s AVR microprocessors. Toshiba T6963 controller is described in detail. The overall result of my bachelor’s thesis is the modular library written in C language (GCC). It provides a set of functions for simple graphic objects and controls drawing. The library is designed as a multi - layered one. It supports the usage of different LCD display controllers without any extensive program code modification.
Testing of raster to vector graphics conversion software products
Mináriková, Monika ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kunstová, Renáta (referee)
This work is mainly focused on testing of software for conversion between raster and vector graphics. It is divided into two parts. In methodological part there are stated the ways of storing image data in the computer. It explains the differences among basic types of computer graphics, raster and vector, and characterizes their well-known formats. Practical part deals with testing and comparing selected SW supporting the process of tracing. Based on the results, general conclusions about the possibilities, which offer this way of automatic vectorization, are determined. For evaluating and comparing the SW multi-criteria evaluation based on a five-point scale is chosen. The parameters of the evaluation are then divided into two categories: the evaluation of the SW and the outputs from the tracing process. Four types of graphics are chosen for the tracing: a simple black-and-white logo, a full-color logo, a line drawing, and a photograph with a simple motif. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes and evaluates all the results.
