The Reliability of Measuring on the Skytec Interactive Ski Simulator

Title: The Reliability of Measuring on the Skytech Interactive Ski Simulator Objectiv: The goal of this work is to investigate the reliability of the measurement of energy expenditure on the Skytech Interactive Ski Simulator. Methods: The sample consisted of 14 subjects, among which were 9 boys and 5 girls. The value of energy expenditure was measured by indirect calorimetry using the energy equivalent and respiratory exchange ratio. For the measurement of respiratory gases, the Metamax 3B metabolic analyzer and for the analysis of heart rate, the Polar S610 heart rate monitor were used. The subjects completed two measurements, each lasting 6 minutes. During this time, the data needed for subsequent calculations reliability were measured. Assuming that the pair of measuring has a two-dimensional distribution, the reliability equals the correlation coefficient. It was computed using the maximum likelihood method. Results: The measurement of energy expenditure on the Skytec Interactive Simulator provided consistent and reliable results. The findings in this study can be applied to further testing on this machine. Conclusion: The reliability of energy expenditure reached 0,84, a result better than the usual values of reliability tests, which may typically be about 0,8. Keywords: Energy expenditure,...

- 6 - Abstract Title: Comparison of performance tests results determined during kayak spiroergometry with achieved kayak paddling performance. Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine relationships between functional parameters values found during kayak spiroergometry and sport performance at 1000 meters distance, and how are these relationships going to change based on training period. Methods: To determine statistical dependence between sport performance at 1000 meters distance and choosen factors of sport performance, the correlation research was used - as a variable-dependent value the final result of sport performance at 1000 meters distance was used, as a variable-independent amounts functional parameters values found during kayak spiroergometry were used. To discover the statistical dependence methods of Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used. Results: General level of kayak-athletes from testing file indicated by functional parameters values and demonstrated by kayak spiroergometry performance depends on kayak- athlete's level of sport performance at 1000 meters distance in prepared-training period only, when importance for general condition is emphasized. This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of selected leading economic indicators and the real situation that occurred in the Czech Republic between May 2010 and April 2018. With the help of econometric models using the Pearson correlation coefficient and Granger’s causality, this thesis compares the difference between expected development of economic situation and reality for selected indicators. Namely the number of new construction orders, issued building permits, retail sales and the development of the exchange rate of Czech crown against the euro. The result of econometric models showed that expectations regarding the development of economic situation do not correlate significantly with the real situation in the Czech Republic.

The objective of this thesis is to proof possibilities to use data from the electronic revenue records to measure the visit rate and process recommendations for the use in tourism. The thesis focuses on the tourism sector. Concepts and related terminology are explained. Described in this thesis are sources of the information about visitors, profiles of visitors, decision-making process about visits, and selected technologies used to measure the visit rate. Reasons, problems and classification related to measurements of the visit rate are included in the thesis as well. The practical part examines the use of information from electronic revenue records for the purpose of measuring the number of visitors based on the calculation of Pearson's correlation coefficients. The principal how EET functions is explained in the thesis. Significant part of the work is the analysis of daily and monthly revenues of electronic records in the sector of lodging in regions of the Czech Republic. Based on this analysis, 6 groups are determined in which the development of daily seasonality takes place in a specific way. An important part is also the calculation of average cost of accommodation in regions, which identifies certain economic impacts of tourism. Part of the thesis are summarized recommendations for the use of data from EET.
Influence of parcellation atlas on quality of classification in patients with neurodegenerative dissease

The aim of the thesis is to define the dependency of the classification of patients affected by neurodegenerative diseases on the choice of the parcellation atlas. Part of this thesis is the application of the functional connectivity analysis and the calculation of graph metrics according to the method published by Olaf Sporns and Mikail Rubinov [1] on fMRI data measured at CEITEC MU. The application is preceded by the theoretical research of parcellation atlases for brain segmentation from fMRI frames and the research of mathematical methods for classification as well as classifiers of neurodegenerative diseases. The first chapters of the thesis brings a theoretical basis of knowledge from the field of magnetic and functional magnetic resonance imaging. The physical principles of the method, the conditions and the course of acquisition of image data are defined. The third chapter summarizes the graph metrics used in the diploma thesis for analyzing and classifying graphs. The paper presents a brief overview of the brain segmentation methods, with the focuse on the atlas-based segmentation. After a theoretical research of functional connectivity methods and mathematical classification methods, the findings were used for segmentation, calculation of graph metrics and for classification of fMRI images obtained from 96 subjects into the one of two classes using Binary classifications by support vector machines and linear discriminatory analysis. The data classified in this study was measured on patiens with Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a combination of PD and MCI and subjects belonging to the control group of healthy individuals. For pre-processing and analysis, the MATLAB environment, the SPM12 toolbox and The Brain Connectivity Toolbox were used.

Evolutionary Optimisation of Analogue Circuits

The aim of this work was to create a system for optimisaton of specific analog circuits by evolution using multiple fitness functions . A set of experiments was run, and the results analyzed to evaluate the feasibility of evolutionary optimisation of analog circuits . A requirement for this goal is the study and choice of certain types of analog circuits and evolutionary algorithms . For the scope of this work , amplifiers and oscillators were chosen as target circuits , and genetic algorithms and evolutionary strategies as evolutionary algorithms . The motivation for this work is the ongoing effort to automate the design and optimisation of analog circuits , where evolutionary optimisation is one of the options .
Comparison of Democratic Consolidation in Former Eastern Bloc

The aim of this thesis is to numerically evaluate democratic consolidation in Eastern European countries of the former Eastern Bloc. To compare these countries with each other and decide which of these countries can be considered as consolidated democracies. Secondary aim is to find which factors supported this consolidation or at least correlate with it. Theoretical basis of this work is Wolfgang Merkel's theory of democratic consolidation. He divides democratic consolidation into four levels: constitutional consolidation, representative consolidation, behavioral consolidation and democratic consolidation of the political culture. Each level of democratic consolidation is numerically expressed, with usage of Bertelsmann's transformation index data, separately for all states in two-year intervals since 2005 to 2015. Based on that, overall democratic consolidation is calculated. Therefore, we can compare countries between each other and in time. Correlation between factors supporting consolidation and overall democratic consolidation is expressed by Pearson correlation coefficient. This work is beneficial in creating and describing method, which can be used for numerical expression of democratic consolidation in any state since 2005 to 2015 without author's subjective influence.
