Boarding of preschool children in school canteen

The bachelor's thesis focuses on eating preschool children in the school canteen. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The introduction of the theoretical part describes the history of school meals. The main part consists of a description of the basic components of food and nutritional recommendations for given age categories. At the end the legislation on school meals is mentioned. The practical part is focused on the rating the menu with regard to the variety, use and processing of raw materials. Another criterion is the filling of the consumer basket in accordance with Decree No. 107/2005 Coll. Part of the evaluation is also a proposal to modify the menu. The materials for the evaluation are obtained from the responsible persons of the school canteens for a period of two consecutive months. The operations are represented in the number of three municipal canteens and three communal.
Problems of added sugars in our population

This bachelor thesis focuses on the intake of the added sugars among the population of young adults, particularly among the adults in the group of 30 to 45 years of age. The theoretical part of this thesis provides a brief overview of the saccharides based on their chemical composition and elementary classification. The sugars and the natural as well as the synthetic sweeteners and their use in the food industry are then discussed in detail. The concepts of naturally occurring and added sugars are described including the related legislative requirements for food labeling and nutritional recommendations issued by the international and national institutions. The special attention is devoted to the role of sugars in nutrition and to the health risks arising from an excessive sugar intake. The research part of the thesis includes a survey carried out in the form of a questionnaire aiming to investigate, in particular, the consumption of the sweetened soft beverages, the fruit products and the breakfast cereals and to defend the hypothesis that the chosen group of the population consumes the added sugars in an excessive amount. Kindergartens catering with focus on preschool age children

The diploma thesis "Kindergartens catering with focus on preschool age children" is focused on the catering services of the facility. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part which included the development of the child, the dietary requirements of the organism at certain periods of life and, last but not least, the institution for upbringing and education of preschool age children-kindergartens. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the research in selected kindergartens. Institutions are selected to transcribe catering in the capital city, town and village. In the comparison of kindergartens, one kindergarten is selected in the particular location, where a survey was carried out. The result of the survey is the filling of the consumer basket in selected kindergartens, which corresponds to decree no. 107/2005.
Nutritional recommendations for clients with alcoholic liver disease

Work is in its theoretical part focuses on the description of the traditional role of alcohol in the Czech population and its consumption. Czech Republic has long been the largest consumers of beer in the world, as well as the total consumption of pure alcohol per person to hold among the highest in the world. With high levels of alcohol consumption is related of course the risk of addiction. Although alcohol affects the whole body, from somatic damage is focused mainly on the liver. Due consumption may develop a wide range of illnesses, from mild forms such as hepatic steatosis to serious, life-threatening liver cirrhosis. Therapeutic procedures in alcohol liver disease are outlined at the end of the theoretical part. The cornerstone of treatment is abstinence, followed by other recommendations, which include stop smoking, or sufficient nutrition support. The practical part is focused on diet recommendations, which are designed for clients with alcohol liver disease. Specific recommendations are based on analysis of articles that were retrieved based on the specified criteria. Nutrition of oncology patients in palliative care

Nutrition of oncological patients in palliative care is a serious global problem, and therefore, I decided to make a reseach and learn more about this problematics. Although treatment of cancer in this time has moved forward, cancer spread throughout the world in relatively high values. This work is divided into two parts, while in the theoretical part is described the way the disease spreads, what is the percent incdence, prevalence and mortality in the Czech Republic. Next, what symptoms are associated with this disease malnutrition, cachexia, nausea, and other. The most important part of this thesis is description of the nutritional recommendation, witch is specified for each patient individually associated in regards with enteral and parenteral nutrition, as proper nutrition can affect not only the physical needs, but also psychological and also improve the overall condition of the patient. The described care and its division is the last point in the theoretical part. The current way of eating of oncological patients in palliative care was the aim of the practical part of the thesis. My research questions are: 1. How does the disease affect the appetite of the patient in palliative care? and 2. Which component of the patients diet is deficient? The topic was processed in a way of qualitative reseach of 6 oncology patients at palliative department, I used interviews and questionnaires with patients and medical staff. I reviewed the menus in the program Nutriservis and the general condition of patients using a scale of most common symptoms. According to the results, the majority of patients ranged under the limits of standards, with protein energy malnutrition, which was caused by a lack of food rich in protein and also opioids medication which can affect appetite or symptoms associated with this disease.

Nutrition is to ensure nutrients needed to sustain life activity, healthy growth and reproduction. Good healthy food can improve the quality and length of life. Positive effects intensify if the diet is combined with other elements of a healthy lifestyle: fresh air, physical activity, rest, avoiding toxic substances and a good mental state. In the Czech Republic there are changes in eating habits in the last 20th years. The food consumption was a major coup in the volume and in the structure. Changes occurred in the availability of food from seasonal to year-round became available in grocery stores are spread in our fast food intake, and thus the sweet soft drinks. The number of sedentary jobs and reduce the physical activity. Obesity is defined as weight gain above the physiological limits due to accumulation of fat reserves. It is considered epidemic 20th and 21 century. Obesity and being overweight is associated with a high risk of major chronic disease, which is related both to the degree of obesity, but also the distribution of body fat. The prevalence of obesity and overweight is increasing rapidly in developed societies (USA, Canada, Australia etc.).
