Hirsch, Jan ; Kocián, Jiří (advisor) ; Žíla, Ondřej (referee)
The presented diploma thesis deals with the ideas of Greater Serbia and Greater Croatia in the approaches of two significant discourse actors who had a major influence on the course of events during the disintegration of Yugoslavia, namely Slobodan Milošević and Franjo Tudjman. The aim of the thesis is to examine the elements of these "greater" ideas present in their speeches and how they managed to adapt these historical narratives to the environment of socialist Yugoslavia, or how they managed to transfer them into the public discourse at the time. This is achieved through historical discourse analysis, which made it possible to explore their influential speeches as well as the origin of the narratives and ideas related to the irredentist ideologies. The main period under examination is the years 1986-1991 when these narratives played a significant role in mobilising society around the "national question" and the political agenda of both actors. The thesis also includes a comparison of the conceptualization of ideas by Milošević and Tudjman, which helps to reveal the similarities in ideological principles on which these "greater" concepts were built. The thesis concludes that the strategies employed by both actors to popularize their ideas were relatively similar. To transfer these ideas into the...

Lucovič, Matěj ; Žíla, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hofmeisterová, Karin (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the events that led to the declaration of independence of the state of Montenegro. The aim of the thesis was to determine factors, which influenced the internal political development in Montenegro and to what extent the crisis and the disintegration of Yugoslavia, the rise and rule of Milo Đukanović, the Montenegrin-Serbian national question and the very coexistence of the two republics in one state were involved. The thesis traced the development of Montenegro from the death of Josip Broz Tito in 1980, which launched the end of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, to the declaration of Montenegrin independence in 2006. It turned out that the personality of Milo Đukanović and his political actions played a big role, transforming his political career from a communist prominent into a hegemon of Montenegrin politics in resistance to Serbian pressure, especially from the parties of the local leader Slobodan Milošević. The complexity of the problem, which consists primarily in the multitude of variables and the interconnectedness of events, became apparent in the search for an answer to the research question.

Suchánek, Jonáš
Analytical research of a migrant's presence in a certain location on election outcomes of populist-nationalist parties is a relatively new phenomena in the field of electoral geography. Media and political interest in migration and refugees has risen rapidly in the last few years and offers a broad opportunity for relevant scientific studies. This thesis stems from existing literature, that have studied such relation and focuses on the case of The Freedom and Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura Party (SPD) and on the possible influence of the share of migrants on SPD's electoral support at two different scale levels (municipalities with authorized municipal offices and individual municipalities) during the 2017 parliamentary elections. Analysing the most important groups of migrants and additionally a formed group of migrants coming from countries with either dominant or significant Muslim native population can be considered as innovative. The main goal is to discover whether the election outcomes of SPD, which stands strongly opposed to migration, differ based on the share of migrants in a certain area, or if migration does not play any role at all. Furthermore, the electoral geography of SPD is compared to the of Tomio Okamura's former party - Dawn of Direct Democracy, whose rhetoric did not focus...
