Sport hall and its facilities for the elementary school Hudcova 35, Brno

The task of the diploma thesis is to design a sports hall for a primary school in Brno – Medlánky. This task was preceded by a school project during the winter semester, where the task was to process the development area with the aim of designing an urban structure for the location of the sports hall. The area of the sports hall was to be located at the shortest possible walking distance from the primary school. Next, add additional functions to the structure as appropriate, based on the analyzes performed. The area for the location of the sports hall is currently made up mainly of agricultural land with overgrown greenery. The terrain is slightly sloping and descends from west to east. The territory is defined on the north side by the existing development of buildings, on the east side by a service road and on the west by a park. The aim of the thesis is to design a sports hall with simple operation, so that its independence is preserved even during afternoon/evening operation, e.g. leisure activities of sports clubs. The building has a playing area with a grandstand for spectators, changing rooms with hygienic facilities, a multi-purpose hall, offices for teachers and a bistro. Since the building is located in a predominantly green area, I tried to integrate it into the terrain and merge with the surrounding nature by designing biosolar roofs and green facades. These parts of the living facade are balanced by glazed surfaces, which bring natural light into the building and create ideal climatic conditions for sports activities. Living facades will create a pleasant climate in the future as well in the case of construction in a development area. The aim of the project is to use and make the entire area more attractive and to connect it with existing buildings.

Riding complex Medlánky - construction technological project

The subject of my diploma thesis is the elaboration of a selected part of the construction and technological project for the Medlánky Riding Complex. Specifically, it deals with the object SO 01 Covered hall. The building is located on the area of the former ammunition depot. The foundations are implemented as staggered footings, the hall itself is designed as a prefabricated steel structure sheathed with trapezoidal sheet metal. The content of the work is a technical report for the construction and technological project, an evaluation of transport routes, a technological regulation for reinforced concrete monolithic foundations and a timetable for the rough construction. In addition, the site equipment with drawings, inspection and testing plan, itemized budget with a bill of quantities for the rough construction, design of machine assemblies and occupational safety solutions are prepared.

Mapping Survey of the SOS Children’s Villages in Brno-Medlánky

Main purpose of this work is creation of purpose map with measured mapping survey data by tacheometry method in area of SOS children village in Brno located in cadastral area Medlánky. This work records the process of creation of the map starting with planning and land surveying to the final stage of work in the office. The output of land surveying and measuring is general purpose map made by the required standards ČSN 01 3410 and ČSN 01 3411 in a scale of 1:500. This map is primarly made to give an overview of area which is managed by top management of SOS children village Brno. This map shows basic elements and their position in the field but it also shows another elements like children playgrounds and relax zones.

Gallery aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlánky in Brno

The main subject of the diploma project was to create architecture study for new building of a Gallery for sport aircrafts and their traditions and other equipment that cooperate with this topic. The Gallery is designed in Brno´s Medlanky municipality and it is incorporated on current local sport airport. This project was preceded by studio project on the same area, which included reconstruction and development of this airport area. In this diploma project I was trying to continue with this development and establish a design which would react to my earlier design. The site has a sloped character and it separated from a dense city area. Starting point for the design was to gently touch the landscape and also trying to find certain references directly in the closest surrounding. From the views to surrounding was created the idea to preserve the horizontal lines and with a landscape and constructions demands was created the main idea to continue with the landscape over the spatial structure. The need to cover large-scale exhibit items like aircrafts and other items from this topic led to a starting point of my design. The structure is formed as a spatial truss structure and dominates the exhibition space. Building is connected by program and structure to services and other areas like conference hall, coffee, study room, work room and administration. As a one building it teems mainly from arrival at the airport area when the roofing is an organic, monolithic surface disappearing in surrounding. But gallery itself emerges from the ground and opens towards the aircraft take off and departure area where it is also direction of a main view to the surrounding. The building is also unique for its entering, such as the main entrance through narrow staircase gap in the roof. This entrance should evoke to people an aircraft landing, where while descent plane dive in to the clouds and appear underneath above a whole new landscape. Architectural Proposal of Building in Area of Air Port Brno Medlánky

Project presents the vision of the new Medlánky airport infrastructure, which is nowadays uncared, confused and without any possibility of expansion. The intention is create clear and well-arranged extensible structure. Safety of aircraft operations is the highest priority. New airport infrastructure should provide quality facilities for club members and pleasant surroundings for visitors. Every building has to declare its function on the first sight. Shapes and material solutions of primary buildings are inspired by aircrafts. Service buildings are low, flat and orthogonal. Simplicity is important, because aircrafts – machines have star part.
