Diploma thesis addresses the implementation and design of the new library object. The proposed building will serve as public city library with the possession of 102 200 book units. The building will offer department for adults as well as kids section, technical literature, an audiovisual collection, computer rooms and study rooms, reading rooms. There are also plenty of chill zones. In the building are additional services as coffee shop, gallery and lecture hall for different kinds of events and purposes. Library has three floors and one basement solved as an underground parking lot. The building is roofed by warm flat roof. The structural system is reinforced concrete skeletal system with glass facade system, the external wall in some places as sanitary facilities, secondary staircase and coffee shop is walled with bricks with an external thermal insulation composite system. The ground plan of the library is square with dimensions 35, 45 x 35, 45 meters. The building is located in the city centre of Písek, surrounding terrain is slightly sloping. The solved area contains newly designed asphalt road, which leads to the underground parking lot.

New cultural institution hand in hand with public space. The addition of city functions, the revitalization of the city park’s character and creation of the option for living in the town.

Library 2020. Program for a corner site of one of three horizontal platforms in Lausanne. It's nessesary to use a bigger site, when the program is complemented by another function. Multifunctional gallery completes the cultural use of the platform.

Visions for Krnov

The topic of my bachelor thesis is an urban area near the main square in Krnov located on a crossroad of streets Sv. Ducha and Soukenická ulica. On this place was located one of the main city gates - Hlubčická brána. Nowadays it can be considered as a vague place. In my thesis I propose a new library for Krnov. Currently the capacity of a library in Krnov is insufficient. I also deal with a topic of a library in 21st century and its importance for people nowadays and in the future.

Visions for Krnov

The new Krnov library stands on the corner of Soukenická and Sv. Spirit, in the junction of the temple of the same name and the former textile factory. The proposed building not only serves as a library and media library, but also houses a full-fledged community center, gallery, coworking facility and cafe. Of course, there is also an increase in parking capacity in the city center and the modification of the surrounding public areas.

Easy Vulkan

Zatiaľ čo staršie grafické API (Application Programming Interface) ako OpenGL alebo DirectX verzie 11 a nižšej sa v súčasnosti stále bežne používajú, novšie rozhrania API, najmä DirectX 12 a Vulkan, prinášajú mnohé vylepšenia, ako je lepší výkon, natívny Ray-tracing na podporovanom hardvéri a efektívnejšie využitie CPU a GPU. Vylepšenia výkonu a efektívnosti sú výsledkom povahy rozhraní DirectX 12 a Vulkan API. Obidve sú pomerne nízkoúrovňové API. To znamená, že GPU je možné ovládať na oveľa nižšej úrovni, čo má za následok oveľa viac kódu potrebného, aby boli dosiahlnuté podobné výsledky ako pri použití staršieho rozhrania API. Táto práca predstavuje nový framework, vkEasy, ktorý zapuzdruje Vulkan API takým spôsobom, že väčšina jeho funkcií zostáva použiteľná, ale výrazne uľahčuje používanie Vulkan API na vkresľovacie alebo výpočtové operácie. Zdrojový kód obsahuje príklady, ktoré boli implementované pomocou vkEasy, aby ukázali jednoduchosť vkEasy a porovnali ho s kódom napísaným v čistom Vulkane. Bolo pozorované priemerne 94% zníženie potrebných riadkov kódu.

Visions for Krnov

The subject of bachelor thesis was to create a new vision for one of many brownfields situated near the main square of the city of Krnov. The area has been closed for years now, unpenetrable, with no shortcuts going through it. The only remnant of the textile factory is one building with strong expression. The city is suggesting the need of bigger spaces for their library. The potential of the land is predestined for it. But could there be something more to it? Could Library of the 21. century bring something more to this sleeping brownfield?
