Title: Impact of the COVID 19 infection on the respiratory and cardiovascular system, physical strain during the course of the disease Aims: The primary aim of this thesis is to find and study the latest relevant findings regarding the impact of COVID 19 infection on the respiratory system, cardiovascular system and the effect of physical strain on the course of this disease. Subsequently, to write down a critical review on the topic. Methods: A literature review on the impact of COVID 19 infection on the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system and the effect of physical strain on the course of the disease. Results: The impact of the COVID 19 infection on the respiratory system is considerable. The disease can be asymptomatic or with only mild symptoms, typically shortness of breath and cough. The main manifestation of a developed infection is bilateral covid pneumonia, which progresses to ARDS in approximately 20-30% of hospitalized patients. The impact of the disease on the cardiovascular system is increasingly debated. Sources describe elevation of troponin in the serum, as an indicator of myocardial damage, in up to 12% of all cases. Acute effect of antagonist supersets strength training on cardiovascular parameters in patients with normotension

Title: Changes in selected cardiovascular parameters induced by different variants of antagonistic strength training in normotensive subjects Goals: The aim of this study is to investigate the changes in selected cardiovascular parameters induced by different variants of antagonistic strength training and their subsequent comparison between a group of working and physically active individuals from FTVS students. Another aim was to determine which of the antagonistic training variants causes a greater response of cardiovascular parameters. Methods: The research work is based on theoretical-empirical foundations, based on a quantitative research method. Measurements using the Arteriograph device were performed in a non-invasive way in two heterogeneous groups. Results: I compared the changes in cardiovascular parameter values between the non-sporting and sporting groups. Since this type of groups were compared, the result was that the values measured in the non-sporting group were increased compared to the sporting group. As a result of the research work, it was found that a greater increase in cardiovascular parameters occurs after antagonistic upper body training. Circadian regulation of the cardiovascular system

Circadian system consist of the main circadian oscillator and the peripheral oscillators. Their function is to enable the adaptation of living organisms to the diurnal environmental changes. Circadian system regulates rhythmical expression of genes in nearly every cell of the body, thereby affecting both the physiological and behavioural processes of mammals and other animals. This bachelor's thesis summarizes a knowledge from experiments which led to the demonstration of circadian rhytms in cardiovascular system. To introduce the topic, the first discoveries of circadian rhythms in the cardiovascular system are mentioned. Then, we focus on the circadian rhythms in cardiomyocytes, vascular endothelial cells and in vascular smooth muscle cells. Another focal point of my thesis is the role of transcription factor Krüppel-like factor 15. Circadian regulation of the cardiovascular system is important for the proper function of the heart and blood vessels. Circadian disruption can cause severe pathophysiological and cardiovascular conditions, such as ventricular hypertrophy, hypertension, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction or coronary artery disease. Flavonoids have a positive influence on human health and show antioxidant activity. They scavenge free radicals and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer. This bachelor thesis explores mechanisms of their action, relationships between structure of flavonoids and antioxidant activity as well as their potential benefit in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The role of Arachidonic acid metabolites in cardiovascular system and signaling of heart failure

Arachidonic acid (AA) is polyunsaturated acid that plays an important role in regulation of physiology, bioenergetic and signalling cascades in the heart. AA released by phospholipase A2-catalysed hydrolysis of membrane phospholipids serves as substrate for cyclooxygenase, lipooxygenase and cytochrome P450 epoxygenase to produce a wide spectrum of lipid second messengers, eicosanoids. These very biologically potent molecules regulate a number of cellular processes in the cardiovascular system and changes in their composition and concentration significantly contribute to heart failure. The effect of sauna on the changes of blood pressure

Title: The effect of sauna on the changes of blood pressure Objectives: The aim of this study was the measure of the physiological range (blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation) of two selected groups of people within the sauna cycle, assess changes and compare the results of individual probands and groups. Methods: This thesis is conducted as an experimental study. This is a quantitative method, in that will be at first established hypotheses and then evaluated on the basis of the obtained results. The independent variable in this research is the sauna and dependent variables are blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. Results: Blood pressure values were at employee of sauna lower than at other probands, thereby was confirmed hypothesis, but expected significant differences between the measured values of each group were absent. At the same time there was a further confirmation of the hypothesis concerning heart rate, which was increased at all probands. The last confirmed hypothesis related to the blood oxygen saturation and its reduce after the sauna. It could be said that all the defined hypotheses were confirmed. Measurement of basic parameters of the cardiovascular system using a stress test

The bachelor's thesis describes the measurement of basic parameters of the cardiovascular system using a physical test on a bicycle ergometer, their processing and evaluation with the subsequent division of subjects into individual categories according to their physical fitness. The main goal of this work is to create a script in the MATLAB environment, which will be used to evaluate the results of the measured person in the student tasks taking place in practical exercises in physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University.
ECG and PPG derived respiration estimation

This work deals with the estimation of the respiratory curve from ECG and PPG signals. The first part deals with the description and monitoring of electrical activity of the heart, physiology and methodology of respiratory sensing and photoplethysmography. The second part deals with methods of extracting respiratory cycle information from ECG and PPG recordings. The third part deals with the algorithmic implementation and evaluation of individual procedures for estimating the breath curve from both of the above-mentioned signals on records from the web PhysioNet. In the last part, the algorithms are compared and evaluated.
Reconstruction of the Bloodstream of the Finger in 3D from a Video Sequence

The goal of the master thesis is the design and construction of a device for capturing video sequences of the cardiovascular system of the finger of a human hand and the subsequently design and implementation of a method of data extraction for its reconstruction into a 3D model.
