Apartment Building
Vrbický, Jan ; Kučírek, Pavel (referee) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to process project documentation for realization of new apartment building as a nearly zero-energy building in the city of Brno in the cadastre unit Líšeň. The apartment building is a two-storey with a basement in a sloppy terrain. It’s a rectangular shaped building and it has character of a terraced house. On both above-ground floors is an entrance area and 3 residential units. There are 6 residential units in the whole building. In the basement is a vault for every residential unit, utility room, bicycle room, cleaning room, WC, storage, and a gaming room. The basement is also linked to a garage with 6 parking places under the building. The garage is completely open from one side, and it is linked to an exterior parking lot with another 7 parking places. The vertical load bearing system in the above ground floors is made of sand-lime blocks, as well as non-load bearing walls in the above ground floors. Peripheral walls in the basement are made of a concrete permanent formwork and a monolithic reinforced concrete. The horizontal load bearing ceiling structures are made of reinforced concrete slabs. Foundations are designed as plain concrete strips except for two reinforced concrete blocks under the reinforced concrete columns. The roof is designed as extensive green flat roof. The building is insulated with the contact thermal insulation system ETICS made of façade polystyrene with an external above-ground wall finish made of brick cladding.
Apartment building, Rajhrad
Korábková, Adriena ; Galata, Jindřich (referee) ; Müller, Jan (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor´s thesis is the design of an apartment building in a built-up area of Rajhrad, district Brno – venkov, Jihomoravský kraj. It is a fourstorey building (1 underground floor and 3 above-ground floors), equipped with a combined load-bearing system. A total of 11 residential units are designed in the building, of which 1 residential unit is designed for people with reduced mobility and orientation. This apartment is located on the first floor and includes a private garden. The other housing units have a balcony. The load-bearing masonry will be made of sand-lime masonry elements, on which monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings will be laid. The building will be insulated with the ETICS contact thermal insulation system. Facade colors will be chosen in shades of white and light brown. The facade will be complemented by a stone cladding in a light brown shade. The building has an elevator and a reinforced concrete staircase.
Small apartment building
Konečný, Patrik ; Žajdlík, Tomáš (referee) ; Šuhajdová, Eva (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is a proposal for the elaboration of project documentation for an apartment building for a building permit and construction. The considered area for the proposed building is a system of plots in the cadastral area of Sadová in Brno (South Moravian Region). It is a partially basement building with three floors, which is located on a slight slope. The building has 12 residential units of various layouts, of which one apartment is adapted for people with disabilities. The apartments have loggias, balconies or terraces, which provides an above-standard view of the surroundings. The building also has an outdoor parking spaces. Lime-sand bricks are designed as load-bearing and non-load-bearing masonry, and monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings are designed. The building will be insulated using the ETICS contact thermal insulation system. Facade colors will be chosen in shades of white and gray. The building also has an elevator and a reinforced concrete staircase.
Semidetached house
Milota, Martin ; Pospíšil, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jelínek, Petr (advisor)
The building in question is a new build home comprising two housing units. It is situated in Brno-Horní Heršpice, a quiet district that is well connected to the city centre. The house features two above-ground habitable floors as well as one underground floor, which serves as a cellar/storage space. Designed as an ultra-low energy building, the house has a shed roof with a folded sheet rooftop. THERM-type bricks are used for the construction while thermal comfort is achieved by a certified external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) featuring façade polystyrene. In addition to the house as such, the land also includes a garden with a swimming pool for each housing unit. The building forms part of a terraced development.
Kindergarten
Hess, Samuel ; Jelínek, Petr (referee) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with the design of an NZEB kindergarten in Třebíč. The building is single-storey with a flat roof. Next to the building there are 15 parking spaces, 3 of them are for electric car charging. The centre of the building consists of staff facilities and spaces for building services, the rest of the building includes sanitary facilities for children, changing rooms and classrooms. The building is based on a foundation slab that rests on a layer of foam glass granulate. The external masonry is made of ceramic blocks insulated with EPS ETICS. The internal load-bearing and partition masonry is made of unfired clay blocks, which are plastered with clay plaster. The roof structure is made of prefabricated pre-stressed concrete panels, which are sloped outwards. The building is heated by a ground to water heat pump, which will heat the water for underfloor heating, the HVAC unit and hot water distribution. Intelligent LED lighting is installed throughout the building. There are photovoltaic panels on the roof to generate electricity. Rainwater is used for flushing and watering the garden. Furthermore, in my master’s thesis I addressed the possibilities of using rainwater in roof drains to generate electricity. There, I calculate different possibilities and ways to use rainwater as efficiently as possible to generate electricity. A Pelton turbine is used to generate power, which is driven by the force of the water current.
Pension Přehrada
Svobodová, Monika ; Kalánek, Jiří (referee) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The topic of master project was the processing the design documentation for a Pension Přehrada. I designed a pension with a restaurant and a small wellness area. It is a detached building in the cadastral territory of Brno Kníničky. The building is L-shaped and consists of two parts. The first part has two above-ground floors and a loft. This part of the building is covered by a gable green roof. The second part of the building has one above-ground floor and warm flat roof. The vertical structures are designed from ceramic blocks. The external masonry is insulated with the ETICS. Some external masonary are designed like exterior ventilated facade with stone cladding and a green facade. Floor structures are designed by SPIROLL panels. The master project includes the concept of heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic hot water heating, lighting, rainwater management and photovoltaic panel design. In the part of my project, I focused on optimizing the design of the gable roof. I changed the composition of the gable roof so that more rainwater would be retained to be used in the facility. I placed additional photovoltaic panels on the gable roof and simulate whether they would cover the electricity consumption in the building. I evaluated the changes in the energy performance certificate, and compared them with the original design.

New apartment building
Křičenský, Adam ; Svoboda, David (referee) ; Čuprová, Danuše (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor’s thesis is the processing of the design documentation for execution of an apartment building. Designed building is located in Hrochův Týnec. The access to the building is from the south. The plot is flat and it disposes with parking places for nineteen cars. It is a building with three above-ground floors and partial basement that is designed with a total 8 dwelling units. The structural system of the designed building is wall system. All vertical structures are made of clay brick. The exception are external walls in the basement, that is designed of concrete blocks (permanent formwork). The horizontal structures are designed of prefabricated rib-and-filler floor that is made of ceramic concrete ceiling beams, ceramic inserts and overconcrete. The conection structure of the building is the cast-in-place reinforced concrete staircase. The roof is designed as a green flat roof in combination with the walkeble flat roof. The roof above the stairwell is designed as a non-walkeble flat roof. The thermal insulation of the whole object is made of the ETICS certified contact thermal insulation system. The apperance of the building is completed by facade colours that are selected in shades of white, light gray and dark gray.
