Doležal, Lukáš ; Pazdera, Ivo (referee) ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
The objective of this master's thesis is new power converter design for bicycle with combustion engine and electric power transmission. The power converter is control by microprocessor and control algorithm is designed to achieve maximum efficiently of combustion engine. Converter and servomotor for controlling combustion engine throttle are located in metal box. Hardware, firmware and metal box are designed in the thesis.
Traction inverter for an electric bike
Prudík, Martin ; Klíma, Bohumil (referee) ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
A drive design for an electric bike with brushed DC disk motor is proposed in this thesis. Especially the design of a DC/DC converter with DSC control is described. The converter can operate as step-down and step-up too. Minimum dimensions and sufficient power for riding without human assistance were the main demands on the design.
Current source for the solid-state laser amplifier
Žilka, Martin ; Duz, Aleksei (referee) ; Novák, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with theoretical design of solid-state laser beam amplifier power supply. The introductory part contains a description of operation principles of some step-down DC/DC converter topologies, including their advantages and disadvantages. The next chapter describes design issues of a DC/DC converter design, including full schematic diagram. The conclusion is focused on practical assembling and testing of the designed device.
Thermoelectric Power Generation System
Brázdil, Marian ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
In the last decade there is a rising interest in thermoelectric applications. Thermoelectric generators enabling the direct conversion of the heat into the electricity become attractive. This fact is caused by the demands of environmental operation and saving primary resources. Scientists intensively investigate and develop new materials and structures suitable for these applications. The efficiency of the thermoelectric conversion progressively increases. Unfortunately we have no available materials with sufficient thermoelectric properties which could provide cost-competitive price. Thermoelectric generators seem to be useable devices. For example, in case of the unused waste heat using of the thermoelectric generator can increase the overall effectiveness of the unit despite the low efficiency of the generator. This master thesis deals with the issue of the Peltier modules representing the main part of the thermoelectric generators. The physical principles and structures of the thermoelectric modules and the possibility of thermoelectric power production are described here. In the practical part of this thesis the design of the low power generator utilizing waste heat from biomass boiler Verner A 251.1 is proposed.
Cyklocomputer with Frequency Meter
Netáhlo, Tomáš ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Hermany, Jiří (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with design and realization of the cyklocomputer with a measuring frequency of pedaling. The device measures speed, pedaling frequency, heart rate, distance traveled and the current time and date. Measured values are stored in memory and then can be transferred via USB bus to computer. The work includes a description of the magnetic sensors and ECG sensors. The practical part includes the design of hardware and software cyklocomputer.
Multifunction board computer for motorcycles
Netáhlo, Tomáš ; Tošovský, Petr (referee) ; Brančík, Lubomír (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with a design and a realization of multifunction board computer for motorcycles. The goal of the device is measuring speed, rotation speed of engine, temperature of ambient, temperature of engine, temperature in intake including signalization of overvoltage and hightemperature. The device is completed by above standard function such as measuring titl of motorcycle, climbing of route, route recording and data transmission to the computer. The thesis includes a complete solution of hardware and software part of the device.
Voltage converter with MPPT algorithm for solar cell
Špina, Martin ; Pazdera, Ivo (referee) ; Huták, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of solar lithium ion battery charger using microcontroller controlled step down DC/DC converter. Control algorithm is designed to utilize most the of the energy coming from the solar photovoltaic panel, by using maximum power point tracking technology. This makes it as efficient as possible at any irradiation intensity level or temperature.
Regulation of DC hub dynamo
Navrátil, Petr ; Knobloch, Jan (referee) ; Huták, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the theoretical preparation, design and implementation of a DC converter for a bicycle charge dynamo with compensation for its large inductance. The designed converter will be able to use the maximal power of the dynamo.
A Design and Development of a Universal Power Supply for Laptops in Contemporary Motor Vehicles
Cagáň, Adam ; Levek, Vladimír (referee) ; Šťáva, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of DC power supply with adjustable output voltage in range of 15 to 30 V, working in buck-boost topology. Thesis explains selection of buck-boost controller integrated circuit and calculation of values of external components. Designed converter is supplied with overvoltage, overcurrent, and reverse voltage protection circuit. Final circuit is equipped with microcontroller, display, and rotary encoder, which make it easily operable. Further, there are compared parameters of the device achieved in simulation and in practice.
Lowcost autonomous electrical energy source
Fojtlín, Branislav ; Drexler, Petr (referee) ; Jirků, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor’s work is a low-cost autonomous generator of electrical energy. Since the offer on the market for photovoltaic systems is now very wide, it is my task to select a cheap and effective solution for solar energy generator that will provide three different levels of voltage on the output. I focus especially on the overview of the types of photovoltaic cells and comparison of cells producers. This work also describes switching converters, which will be used for the output voltage conversion for the target system. In the work the solution by different DC/DC regulators is described.
