National assistance for Czech companies in international trade

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current government services offered to Czech exporters and to make a summary of running projects. Attention is paid to the export strategy. There are described specific products, which can Czech exporter achieve and its institutional arrangements. The author of this work focuses on Ministry of Industry and Trade, Czech Export Bank, Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation and Czech Trade Promotion Agency. In conclusion, offered assistance is evaluated and changes and improvements, that could help to improve the government services, are suggested.

In the thesis is presented export financing of turn-key deliveries with state support in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is placed on two important characteristics of financing products - export buyer's credit and project financing. The above mentioned products are considered as financing instruments provided by the state institution established to support export transactions of domestic exporters. The practical demonstration of the theoretical part of the thesis is a case study, which focuses on financing the implementation of the transhipment port terminal grain in Ukraine.
Institutional support of export in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to describe the system of institutions providing export in the Czech Republic. I summarize the most important information on key institutions and their options to help. The work begins with a general characteristic of the pro-export policies and export strategies. The following chapters describe the main institutions to promote exports in the Czech Republic and their possible future development.
Role of the Czech Export Bank in a small and medium enterprise support

Main theoretical definition of small and medium enterprise (SME) and its significant role in the economy are presented in the introduction of this thesis. Next chapter focuses on forms of state support of SME export, international rules for state export support and application of the state export support in the Czech Republic. The Czech export bank (CEB) is presented in the practice part of this thesis as one of the state export support's pillars. Since 2009, based on The Government National Anti-Crisis Plan's request, CEB services more SME's then in the past, although such function is not the main focus of its activities. Bank created specialized SME department and devoted exceptional resources for SME support in an amount of 2 milliards CZE. Newly created department started offering newly created Programs of SME support (specifically Program of SME support - exporter, Program of SME - subcontractor, export-supporting guarantee), closer cooperation with factoring agencies and The Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation EGAP. Conclusion part concerns future of SME support in CEB and resources, which SME department uses to obtain relevant information about their current and potential SME customer needs. This part includes outcomes of CEB's researches focused on exporting SMEs as well.
Export needs of small and medium enterprises versus government assistance

For such a small open economy as is the case of the Czech Republic, export is one of the key growth factors. Further, small and medium sized enterprises are very efficient tool of the economic stability. Government should therefore analyse and fulfil export needs of those entrepreneurs. There is actually no questin about importance of government assistance. Most of the developed countries already help their small and medium enterprises. Ignoring this fact could lead to the reduction of the competitive strength of Czech companies. The diploma thesis analyses the export needs of those firms and compares them with the government assistance programs. Theoretical part is focused on definition of this entrepreneur's category, describes assistance frame and analyses the influence of export on the Czech economy. Practical part deals with individual export assistance programs and analyses the export needs of Czech exporters based on several surveys. The last part of the diploma thesis compares the Czech government assistance with the assistance that foreign countries provide their entrepreneurs with. The final recommendations regarding the possibilities of increase in the efficiency of the government assistence are included in the last chapter.
Export policy of the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to introduce export policy of the Czech Republic, the institutions, which offer support to exporters and to describe their services. One of the chapters focuses on The Export strategy of the Czech Republic for years 2006-2010, its projects and fulfilment in year 2010. The end of this thesis includes some possible improvements in system of the export support.
Bank Guarantees in International Trade

The bachelor thesis analyzes a wide range of possible employment of bank guarantees used in order to avoid risks in international trade. The first chapter generally characterises bank guarantees and principles of their functioning. Then it presents the internationally recognized rules that effectively regulate any kind of bank guarantee. Furthermore, it is concerned with the main interests of contracting parties. In the second chapter, various types of bank guarantees are distinguished. The fundamental division recognizes independent and accessory guarantees, direct and indirect gurantees, payment and finally non-payment guarantees that receive the most attention. The last chapter is practically aimed at the governmental support of Czech export and introduces preferential conditions for issue of bank guarantees by Czech Export Bank and related insurance offered by Export and Guarantee Insurance Corporation.
Export assistance in Czech Republic with emphasis on Czech Export Bank

This thesis describes the possibilities of assistance Czech businesses have when deciding on expanding to foreign markets in order to provide a clear and comprehensive explanation of possibilities for the exporters and to evaluate the impact these possibilities have on the development of foreign trade and investments during the past years. The first part of the thesis deals with the export strategy and various institutions which provide assistance, the second part focuses on the role and products of Czech Export Bank as well as restrictions imposed by international institutions which apply to export assistance. The third and final part deals with evaluation and suggestions for the future possibilities of export assistance.
Institutional support for export in the Czech Republic

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to provide insight into the three main state institutions supporting export of the Czech Republic, which The Czech Trade Promotion Agency/CzechTrade, Czech Export Bank and the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation are. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The opening first chapter deals with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which performs a leadership role in the national pro-export policy. The second chapter is concerned with CzechTrade and its services for Czech exporters. The third chapter is focused on the Czech Export Bank, which is a specialized banking institution for the state export promotion. The fourth chapter refers to the Export Guarantee and Insurance Company, which is a credit insurance company in state ownership.
Analysis of export promotion provided by Czech Export Bank

Export promotion via officially supported export credits and insurance is relatively widespread around the world. The thesis describes activity of Czech Export Bank (CEB) and mentions also its legal framework in Czech system of export promotion. Text contains pros and cons of export promotion. The main part of the thesis is panel data analysis using gravity equation. This panel data involves 130 countries in period of 1996 -- 2008 with data on export, export promotion, GDP, political risk and other variables. There is investigated impact of activities of CEB on Czech export using 2 gravity models (static and dynamic). In these models export promotion is significant factor with positive impact on Czech export.
