Use of some fractions of technical hemp in cosmetics
Gregarová, Lenka ; Hudečková, Helena (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
Cannabis sativa is a versatile herb which is known for several thousand years and contains a variety of active substances. This thesis is focused on the use of some extracts of hem in cosmetics, specifically in hair cosmetics. The first part focuses on the Cannabis sativa, introducing the active contained substances and the overall processing of the plant. In the second part were experimentally determined the active substances in five extracts from different varieties, that were supplied from industry. Extracts were compared based on the extraction yield of antioxidants, chlorophylls, phenolic compounds, flavonoids and cannabinoids. Subsequently, a hair shampoo was prepared with the addition of hemp extracts and hemp hydrolysate. Lastly, the inhibitory effect against microorganisms was monitored for extracts and shampoos finally. Beneficial biologically active substances were detected in hemp extracts, wherein higher levels were measured in ethanol extracts. The extracts were also able to inhibit the growth of certain microorganisms. Satisfactory results on hair were observed with the prepared shampoo.
The content of selected biologically active substances in wild plants traditionally used as vegetables
ŠUSTEROVÁ, Simona
A balanced diet should contain, in addition to essential nutrients, enough minority biologically active substances, such as essential vitamins and minerals. This group of substances include, for example, plant polyphenols, which act as effective antioxidants. A diet rich in natural antioxidant substances contributes to the prevention of serious civilization diseases, especially heart and blood vessels. People have always tried to enrich their diet with the resources of the biologically active substances. Particularly in spring, when stored foods lost their nutritional value, several wild plants came in. These have traditionally been used as a source of vitamins and other necessary substances. In our regions, they are traditionally a young nettle, but also some members of the family of crucifers. The aim of the bachelor thesis will be to select a set of suitable wild growing plants, to take samples for analysis and to determine the content of selected biologically active substances. A liquid chromatographic technique will be used to analyze the selected biologically active polyphenols contained in the plant material. It is a modern separation analytical technique, with which selected biologically active compounds are determined with high reliability.

Preparation of 3-phenylpentanoic and 3-phenylpent-2-enoic acid derivatives
Fatka, David ; Machara, Aleš (advisor) ; Veselý, Jan (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis deals with preparation of the intermediates of the analgesic tapentadol. The chosen synthetic strategy requires a preparation of appropriate derivatives of 3-phenylpentanoic and 3-phenylpent-2-enoic acid. Synthesis of those derivatives represents the cornerstone of the thesis. In the first part, the thesis describes an effort associated with a preparation of 1-[(3-benzyloxy)phenyl]propan-1-one, a necessary intermediate for the preparation of the titled compounds. Then addition reactions were studied on the aforementioned ketone. The second part of the thesis focuses on one particular addition, a Reformatsky reaction, and deals with further optimization. In addition, the submitted thesis also describes variety of attempts to carry out dehydration of the Reformatsky adducts, namely, benzylic tertiary alcohols. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Fungal secondary metabollites with antiviral activity
Besedová, Alena ; Čmoková, Adéla (advisor) ; Kolařík, Miroslav (referee)
The past year 2020 has clearly shown how quickly some viral infections can reach pandemic proportions. Thus, there is still a need to discover new substances with antiviral activity. Such substances (eg. asteltoxin E, cytosporaquinone B) have been discovered in the past in several groups of fungi, however, their potential as a source of virostatic chemotherapeutics has not been much explored. The possible use of fungi as a source of substances with antiviral activity is also indicated by the use of some species (eg. Ganoderma linghzi, Lentinula edoles) in the alleviation or prevention of viral diseases in traditional medicine. In most cases, however, it was not possible to find substances responsible for this effect. Therefore, in my bachelor's thesis I will first analyse kinds of fungi traditionally used as treatment of viral infections in traditional medicine. I will also summarize the most important fungal substances for which antiviral activity has been demonstrated. The bachelor's thesis will provide a comprehensive overview of currently known secondary metabolites of fungi and their virostatic effects. The information summarized in the work may point to possible candidates in the fight against viral infections.
Preparation of ruthenium complexes bearing ibuprofene derivatives
Ráliš, Václav ; Štěpnička, Petr (advisor) ; Schulz, Jiří (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Science Department of inorganic chemistry Author: Václav Ráliš Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Petr Štěpnička, Ph.D., DSc. Consultant: Mgr. Jiří Pinkas, Ph.D Title: Preparation of ruthenium complexes bearing ibuprofene derivatives Cp* arene complexes of ruthenium with the general formula [(η6 -arene)RuCp*]X (where Cp* is pentamethylcyclopentadienyl and X is an anion in the outer sphere) have recently been the subject of the development of new anticancer drugs. The aim of this thesis was to prepare two new compounds bearing ibuprofen (ibuprofen as a racemic mixture). Two synthetic procedures were chosen for the attachment of ibuprofen, by η6 -bond and also by ester bond to the complex [(η6 -BnOH)RuCp*]Cl (3), where Bn is benzyl. The complex [(η6 -ibuprofen)RuCp*]PF6 (1HPF6) was prepared. The zwitterionic form of this complex [(η6 -ibuprofen- )RuCp*] (1) showed unexpected decarboxylation, yielding the complex [(η6 -1-ethyl-4-isobutylbenzene)RuCp*]HCO3 (2). To the best of our knowledge this kind of reaction has never been described before for this type of compounds. The complex [(η6 -BnOibuprofen)RuCp*]Cl (4) was prepared by reacting ibuprofen acyl chloride with the complex 3. Prepared complexes were characterized via 1 H, 13 C{1 H} NMR, IR spectroscopy, ESI-MS+ and melting...
