Užívání návykových látek na střední škole
Řezáč, Oldřich
The topic of this bachelor thesis ist he issue of drug use among poeple studying at secondary school. The thesis includes not only the age definicion namely students and the characte-ristique oft he developmental stage of Adolescence, but also the definition and stages of addiction. Furthermore, addictive substances both legal and illegal are listed in the thesis. In the practical part, a research in this area is conducted in a selected high school with a focus on substance use, which was conducted in the form of a question-naire survey, but also a follow up evaluation and comparison with the ESPAD 2019 study
Mozkový systém odměny u hmyzu
DVOŘÁČEK, Jiří
Animal behavior is not random; rather, it is primarily determined by the biological significance of environmental stimuli: stimuli essential for a survival are marked by the brain reward system, with a positive hedonic value and their achievement is associated with the pleasure (reward). The concept of the reward system emerged from research of the mammalian brain; early theories held that it was a system present only in the brains of higher animals (the mesolimbic dopaminergic system), and that reward was a manifestation of more complex neural networks and higher brain functions. The brain reward has evolved from a solitary phenomenon to a complex function that is divided into the components of ´liking´, ´wanting´, and ´learning´, and from the predominate role of dopamine to a more sophisticated idea that assigns important functions to other neurochemical systems. While dopamine still plays a significant part in the ´wanting´ function, the opioid system likely plays a larger role in the ´liking´ function. The distinction of stimuli into pleasant/unpleasant (attractive/aversive) has been described in insects, and it is widely believed that this principle applies throughout the animal kingdom. Mushroom bodies have been identified as the critical regions of reward functions in the brains of insects. The exact descriptions of the implicated neurotransmitters and modulators, as well as specific cellular and network structures, were also provided. Although the complexity of the brain networks in mammalian and insect reward systems differs, the general principles are the similar in both. The fly Drosophila melanogaster is a frequent laboratory model for investigating the principles of neural network functioning. When studying the brain reward system, it is not only appealing because it is a relatively simple organism with a transparent brain and a described genome, but it may also have the benefit for us that when thinking about its brain, we do not apply relatively old, complex concepts with unlimited meanings, which are a problem in interpreting the human brain study. In the case of the fruit fly, we can highlight that 1) the brain regions involved in associative learning and brain reward functions are surprisingly complex, despite the fact that it is a relatively simple and short-lived organism, 2) its brain almost certainly has a system that creates a motivational drive (´wanting´), and 3) there are indications of the potential existence of a hedonic component of pleasure or its evolutionary predecessor, based not on endogenous opioids. It is inspiring in many ways to compare the brain structures of two evolutionary distinct animal groupsinsects and mammals/humans. This comparison has several implications for a broad paradigm of animal reward, including: Reward principles are universal, and all species are likely fundamentally motivated by the need for rewards. The brain reward mechanisms appear to be hierarchically structured; rather than being centrally organized, they are distributed among other brain networks and mechanisms. The components of these mechanisms can operate independently of one another and concurrently. While the function of neuropeptides in the reward system is flexible, the function of monoamines in the reward system is likely to be conservative in evolutionary terms (the function of endogenous opioids in mammals may be at least partially regulated by another neuropeptide in insects). The neurotransmitter identity of dopaminergic neurons in the reward system is likely to be very context-dependent. Two other interesting concepts can be found in the bee: the sublimation of reward functions in individuals in favor of collective pleasure, and the implied integrated function connecting reward functions and social behavior into one continuum. The comparative study gives new scope for understanding disorders of the reward system, especially addiction, and may also have significant philosophical consequences.

Kozová, Johana ; Šťastná, Lenka (advisor) ; Hynková, Tereza (referee)
Backround: Acupuncture is classified as complementary and alternative medicine. It is a medical discipline that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, including addictive diseases. In foreign clinics, especially in the USA, acupuncture is part of the treatment. According to foreign studies, acupuncture can help reduce cravings, improve coping with unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, reduce stress and anxiety, or improve sleep. Aim: The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe the subjective experiences of acupuncture sessions and their subjective significance in the recovery process. The research questions are focused on the experiences of acupuncture, how the respondents feel the influence of acupuncture on themselves and how this method can be used according to their experience in the treatment of addiction. Methods: A qualitative research method, a semi-structured interview, was chosen for data collection. The research group consists of 5 respondents. An interpretative phenomenological analysis was used to analyze the obtained data, which focuses on understanding the lived experience of a person and helps to examine more closely what meaning a certain person attributes to his experience. Results: The results from interviews with respondents are in the form of themes....
Patterns of heated tobacco products usage among women: qualitative research
Prokešová, Miroslava ; Kulhánek, Adam (advisor) ; Kočvarová, Linda (referee)
Introduction: A relatively new trend that has been gaining popularity in recent years is heated tobacco, which has been on the Czech market since 2017. Although the number of users of heated tobacco products in the Czech Republic is increasing, the phenomenon is still relatively under-mapped. There is also very little information on the gender specificities of the use of heated tobacco. Therefore, this study focuses on mapping and describing the patterns of use of heated tobacco products among women who have switched from using conventional cigarettes to heated tobacco products. Aims: The main aim of the research is to map the patterns of use of heated tobacco products among chosen women in the adult population of tobacco users in the Czech Republic. The sub-objectives are to describe the nature of heated tobacco product, find out what motivated female users to switch to heated tobacco products. And what are the typical situations when women use the device. Sample: the research sample was selected by simple intentional (purposive) sampling method, combined with snowball sampling method. The final sample consisted of 7 female respondents. The mean age was 25,7 years (youngest 21 years and oldest 34 years). Methods: The research was conducted using a qualitative method. Data was collected by...
Psychiatric comorbidity in the context of family factors in ADDA patients with a primary addiction diagnosis
Slopovská, Hana ; Jandáč, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kulhánek, Adam (referee)
Background: Psychiatric comorbidity means the concurrence of an addiction diagnosis with one or more psychiatric diagnoses in a given individual. Psychiatric comorbidities are one of the frequent complications not only in children and adolescents, and the family background can also have a major influence on their emergence and development. Aim: The aim of the thesis is a more detailed description of the occurrence of psychiatric comorbidities in the pediatric and adolescent outpatient clinic of the Addiction Clinic (ADDA) patients with a focus on family factors that may be related to the occurrence of dual diagnosis in the given population. Methods: ADDA patient data, which comes from two sources (FONS and the SAL questionnaire), will be used to process the research, which will then be matched and anonymized. Correlation analysis will be used to analyze the data. Results: The study, which took place in the years 2015-2021, included a total of 157 respondents aged 8-18 with a primary addiction diagnosis. There were a total of 61 children with psychiatric comorbidity. The most frequently present comorbidity was hyperkinetic disorder (15,3 %). A total of 14 % of families from the total group and 11,5 % of children with comorbidities are at risk of addiction. Conclusion: According to the results of our...
Knowledge of selected high school students on the effects and health risks of alcohol and tobacco products usage
Freslová, Veronika ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (referee)
This thesis deals with the issues of alcohol and tobacco use, their effects on the organism and the associated health risks. The aim of the work, based on information gathered from empirical research, is to map the level of knowledge among secondary school students about the risks of using alcohol and tobacco products and their effects on health. The theoretical basis of this thesis is based on the available professional literature devoted to this topic, at the same time it relies on empirical experience gained from the practice. As part of the empirical part, the thesis involves a questionnaire survey involving volunteers from the pupils of the Secondary Vocational School of Catering in Říčany. By summarising the results of the research investigation, it can be said that general knowledge and information about both alcohol and tobacco products and their effects on health is available to users. Surprisingly, across ages or social groups, smoking is generally tolerated by society as opposed to drinking alcohol. The explanation lies in the fact that smoking does not affect the user's judgement. It can therefore be said that smoking is considered a normal part of everyday life by the respondents asked. In contrast, they are more likely to use alcohol under the influence of a social group and to fit in...
Transformation of addictive behavior in selected illegal drug users due to the COV-19 pandemic
Kroupová, Lucie ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Váchová, Alena (referee)
The diploma thesis was created with the aim of mapping the effect of the cov-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown on the use of illegal substances among selected respondents. It was possible to compare the situation in detail with the pre-Covid period, because the respondents had already collaborated in the previous bachelor's thesis. It is a qualitative research in which thematic analysis is applied as a research method. The theoretical part of the thesis elaborates addiction and addictive behavior, the developmental point of view, relevant theories of pathological behavior in the context of drug addiction, the development of the cov-19 pandemic and drug policy in the Czech Republic, and the treatment and cessation of addiction. The research of the practical part is based on the statements of 10 participants of a semi-structured interview. The individual parts consist of a medallion of the respondents (information about the respondents from the previous bachelor's thesis), general information, the impact of the cov-19 pandemic on employment and education, partner and family relationships during the pandemic, free time and interests of the participants, addictive substances in the context of the cov-19 pandemic 19 and mental state during the cov-19 pandemic. The primary research idea was whether...
