The journey of Jaroslav Papousek to film directing through non-filming artistic activities and collaboration with Milos Forman and Ivan Passer
Rybanský, Adam Koloman ; SLÁMA, Bohdan (advisor) ; BERNARD, Jan (referee)
My bachelor thesis deals with the life of Jaroslav Papoušek until he made his first film The Most Beautiful Age. It maps his artistic activity as a painter, sculptor, cartoonist and writer. All of that is reflected in his film profession. When he finished the novel Black Peter and started to work on script with Milos Forman, he discovers his scriptwriting talent and a good sense for dialogues which he continued to develop as a part of a trio of authors. Experience he gained by working with directors such as Miloš Forman and Ivan Passer naturally led him to his director's debut The Most Beautiful Age. I chose this film to describe his influence of fine art disciplines, precisely the art of sculpture, and also his influence of his previous collaborations on his scriptwriting and director's perception.

Specifically, it is about the results of the attendance and the revenues, differences between classic cinemas and multiplexes. One chapter is also concerned with the genres of Czech films. The following part describes particular factors which can influence the cinema attendance and these factors are considering the results in the first part. The final part presents the summary of this analysis.

Reception of Slovak Czech film in the Press in the period 1948 - 1969 (with special attention to the image of the Germans)
Racik, Marek ; Klimeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Přádná, Stanislava (referee)
My thesis focuses on the reception of Slovak fiction film in the Czech press from 1948, the year when Slovakia started to produce their own fiction films regularly, until 1969, when the social changes after the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw Pact troops ended the whole period. There was a notion in the Czech society that Czechoslovak film is a Czech film and the thesis focuses on this notion as it was understood by the Czech film critics. My goal is to find and explain, when and how the Czech film journalism started to recognize the differences inside the Czechoslovak film and pointed out the unique identity of the Slovak film in the Czech press. Furthermore, I examine how the Slovak film was rated by Czech film critics in the Czech film scholar press, film magazines and newspapers. The first part of the thesis examines the Czech-Slovak relations in the light of newly established Slovak fiction film. The second part focuses on the complex approach of the Czech film critical journals towards Slovak film, influenced by the state power between the years 1948 - 1960. The third part reflects the appearance of the topics concerning SNP and the so called Slovak New Wave, which lasted during two separate periods between the years 1960 - 1969. In the following chapter the films are explored in a broader section of cinematographic institution It concerns film's PR strategies and commercial campaigns on one hand and critical responses in the contemporary press on the other hand. The final part is founded by the reception study of queer audience, which coprehend not only the spectator's experience of chosen films, but reception modes and readers strategies as well.
ASMR
Stejskalová, Bára Anna ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (advisor) ; PAVLÁTOVÁ, Michaela (referee)
ASMR is a phenomena, which tries to induce a feeling of a physical touch in the viewer. It is spread mostly on the Youtube platform. His creators are primarily amateurs, who pushed this sector from the most simple videos to the half-professional level through using professional technology (very sensitive microphones, 360° shooting, using googles for virtual reality). Elicit the physical response through flm could enrich the viewer´s experience from the piece. Yet, the ASMR remains in the underground. The goal of this thesis is to describe and analyse ASMR, compare it to audio-visual media production and ask a question, whenever it is possible to induce the physical responce, with the same principals, in the animation.

Mištová, Jaroslava ; POZZI, Jaroslav (advisor) ; MRAVCOVÁ, Marie (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the changes in society's view of people with mental disabilities in recent centuries at first, then it is approaching the meanings of the words „mental handicap“ and briefly explains the various classifications of these handicaps. I also work with concept of characters with mental disabilities in Czech cinematography 1993 - 2007. To detect negative stereotypes about people with mental disabilities in the Czech films I use analysis of specific films of that time period. And at the end I find the most common negative stereotypes in these films. One of the most common negative stereotype is the presentation of death - or any form of destruction, silencing, or imprisonment - a character with mental disabilities, as the only possible solution for the character with mental disabilities and society too.
Erotica in a puppet animated film
Žák, Vojtěch ; DĚCKÁ, Eliška (advisor) ; Vaněček, Matěj (referee)
Eroticism and pornography in animated puppet film is a niche genre. Nevertheless, it deserves attention for its unique means of expression. The subject matter of this thesis is a reflection on the relationship between corporeality and the puppet in film. It also includes selected auteur independent films and their analysis, in which sexual behavior is the prevalent topic or which contain explicit erotic scenes. The puppet functions as a representation of human body; specifically, within the context of this thesis, of the body in erotic situations. The body of the puppet becomes a representation of our own body. With the emergence of new technologies, we can become a representation of the puppet, which in turn becomes a puppeteer, an animator. The principle of identification with the main protagonist is essential for interpretation of the role and function of the puppet in film. One of the key instruments of interpretation of the role of the puppet in film and understanding its function in film. The chosen theme is accompanied by definitions of key terms and a brief overview of legislation concerning pornographic animated film.
