Ellagitannins -occurence, metabolism and effects on human body

Karin Raabová Supervisor: PharmDr. Jana Karlíčková, Ph.D. Diploma thesis 2016/2017, pp. 77 Ellagitannins belongs to a class of hydrolysable tannins, which are susceptible to hydrolysis to give ellagic acid in the digestive tract. Ellagitannins occur in many plant families, for example plants in the family Rosaceae, Myrtaceae or Lythraceae. There are naturally found in some fruits (pomegranate, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes), but also in the seeds of walnuts and thus form a diverse group of bioactive polyphenols with anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity. Special instrumental methods (HPLC, DAD, MS) are most often used for subsequent evidence of occurrence of these compounds in plants and their identification. This diploma thesis is a literature review, which aimed at processing the available knowledge about the ellagitannins. Effects of flavonoids on cardiovascular system

Flavonoids have a positive influence on human health and show antioxidant activity. They scavenge free radicals and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer. This bachelor thesis explores mechanisms of their action, relationships between structure of flavonoids and antioxidant activity as well as their potential benefit in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In addition, this work provides an overview of the significant effects of certain plants containing flavonoids such as Camellia sinensis, Vitis vinifera, Achillea millefolium, genus Artemisia etc. Key words: flavonoids, the cardiovascular system, effects, antioxidants

The theme of this bachelor is thesis is the suitability of the kinds hiporehabilitation with congenital disease and injuries of the muscoloskeletal system, which is treated as a literary review. The work is focused on the history and effects of hippotherapy. Defines and describes the concept of hypotherapy, psychotherapy, activities with the use of horse and horse parariding. The main task of this work is to learn which methods are best for specific diseases and injuries.
The comencement of incsolvency proceedings, effects of insolvency proceedings and decission about insolvency petition - possibility to use or misuse of law

This thesis investigates the problem of commencement of insolvency proceedings, content of an insolvency petition, the effects of insolvency proceedings and the decission about insolvency petition. In connection with the filing of insolvency petition focuses on issues of international jurisdiction. The paper also analyzed the empirical data relating to insolvency proposals. The aim is examining whether the current legal system of commencement insolvency proceedings can be misuse and whether the legal framework of international jurisdiction can be misuse. There are also examine various possibilities of misuse legislation. Also, the thesis focuses on the possible regulatory considerations.
Differences in alcohol consumption in men and women - students JU

This work focuses on research related to alcohol consumption of men and women students of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The purpose of my work is to find out what opinions/ experiences do the students have with alcoholic beverages. The main attention is aimed at these chapters: ethanol its production, properties and use, alcoholic beverages, effects on human organism, effect of ethanol in the blood and its elimination, alcohol addiction alcoholism, the consequences of alcohol addiction, the treatment of intoxication and prophylaxis. The applicative part includes prepared questionnaire and quantitative research dedicated to the target group of students of USB. The obtained data are compiled in spreadsheets, graphs and subsequently evaluated. The information is further analyzed in the discussion. The contribution of my work is located at the end.
Methods of Controlling Perennial Weeds on Arable Land

Perennial weeds are characterized by the ability to resist or adept to the used regulation measures from measures done on a stubble field after a harvest to the use of herbicides before a harvest. As both the character of the plants and the used agrotechnical measures influence the occurrence of weeds significantly, the issue of occurrence of weeds on arable land remains crucial. This Bachelor thesis is focused on the occurrence and harmful effects of chosen perennial weeds, i.e. Couch grass, Creeping Thistle and Broad leaved dock, in a chosen area. The above named weeds, their occurrence in spring barley variety Bojos and the effect of herbicides on the weeds were studied by means of an experiment in a chosen small area of land. The aim of the thesis is to summarize and broaden knowledge about the utilization of different methods of regulation of perennial weeds on arable land and to provide recommendation on measures and methods to be used in agriculture.
Creation and check of tutorial programme for students of programme "Health Education": Herbs and their usage within healthy life style

This thesis deals with medicinal plants and their possible use in a healthy lifestyle. Analysis are individual herbs and their effects on the human body and the products that they can get. The goal is to create an educational program for students of education to health - oriented issues in medicinal plants, substances contained in them, the possibilities of its processing and storage. It also deals with the preparation of herbal teas, which are among the most popular products derived from medicinal plants. The research part brings the knowledge of how herbs are informed about college students and people who work in healthcare facilities.
