Comparison of knowledge of laymen and experts about anthropogenic emergencies within the operation of NPP Temelín
ŠPLÍCHAL, Vojtěch
Awareness of an emergency within a nuclear power plant is important for the safety of plant workers and the civilian population. This thesis is a report of applied quantitative research meeting the global objective and three sub-objectives. The global objective within the thesis (the development of the civil protection with the description of the gradual development of nuclear power plants with the use for peaceful purposes, the description of the risks, radiation emergencies and measures for the civil protection that are associated with the operation of nuclear power plants.) has been fulfilled within the theoretical part. Within the global objective of the research, a questionnaire with the basic parameters of the initial theory (civil protection theory) and selected operational parameters from the field of nuclear power plants operation was developed. Furthermore, three sub-objectives were generated related to the confirmation of hypotheses H1, H2 and H3. H1: The empirical distribution of the knowledge of the general public about anthropogenic emergencies within the operation of Temelín NPP is close to a normal distribution. H2: The empirical distribution of the knowledge of the professional public about anthropogenic emergencies within the operation of Temelín NPP is far from the normal distribution. H3: The knowledge of the general and expert public about anthropogenic emergencies within the operation of Temelín NPP is different at the chosen level of statistical significance. The hypotheses H1 and H2 were tested using mathematical and descriptive statistics. The verification of hypothesis H3 was performed using mathematical analysis methods. The global objective was met using the methods of systems analysis. To meet and confirm the sub-objectives, one dimensional and two dimensional statistical analysis methods were used. The theoretical contributions of this thesis are the confirmation of the applicability of one dimensional and two dimensional statistical analyses in conjunction with the research variables "Knowledge of the general public", "Knowledge of the professional public" and "Types of theoretical distributions". The practical contribution is the normality of knowledge in the general public and the distance from normality in the professional public. The assumption of a distance from normality for the expert public was confirmed, but it is questionable whether experts should score higher with regard to the regularity of training for personnel entering the controlled area and vital areas within the Temelín NPP operation. For follow-up work, the observed distance from normality in the expert community could be the basis for further investigation along with the analysis of individual questions of the questionnaire. This could, for example, lead to a more optimal structuring of the training of the workers (professional public) on the identified areas.
Analysis of Czech army reserve units and their employment in crisis situations
PÍŠA, Daniel
The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of existing reserve units and the legal framework with respect to natural, entrepreneurial natural persons and legal entities, comparison with a similar system abroad. Analysis and evaluation of the level of readiness, equipment, and possibilities of deployment with regards to feasible tasks in crisis situations. The theoretical part deals with the general concept of reserves, the definition of Active reserves, the structure of command and control, and the system of requiring forces and resources of the Army, including Active reserves. It defines crisis situations and describes the possibilities of using Active reserves in crisis situations. It describes the reasons and way of calling Active reserves into active duty. It specifies the duties and requirements of the soldier's employer and at the same time the obligations of the Army towards the soldier's employer in Active reserves. It describes a similar types of Active reserves units abroad, specifically in the United States the National Guard and the Army Reserves. The practical part consists of a questionnaire survey, in which respondents comprised of Active reserves soldiers and professional soldiers who are dedicated to run Active reserves agenda. DOTMLPF-I, the military analysis, was conducted as well as SWOT analysis. The questionnaire survey was also used to directly ask targeted questions to complete the DOTMLPF-I analysis. The focus of the work was to obtain and analyse data and information. The conclusions are summarized in the evaluation of the possibilities of deploying Active reserves and at the same time, based on the processed results of analyses, specific recommendations for the short, midterm and long term are given.
The effect of different intake of omega 3 unsaturated fatty acids on the human body
DRDA, Josef
The topic of my bachelor thesis is "Effects of different intakes of omega 3 unsaturated fatty acids on the human organism." Omega 3s are fatty acids (FA), which are carboxylic acids that have 4 - 26 carbons with different spatial arrangements. The plants sources of omega 3 FAs includes oils, especially hemp, flax or soy, but they can be also found in avocados. They occur here as alpha- linoleic (ALA) acid. In animal sources occur as eicosapentoenoic (EPA) and dokosahexoenoic acids (DHA), which can be found in marine and freshwater fish and shellfish. Seaweed is an exception, which contains large amount of EPA a DHA. In recent years, there has been considerable research into their positive effects on human health, most commonly on cardiovascular and neurological systems. The aim of this work is to determine the intake of omega 3 FAs from the normal diet, whether the intake of omega 3 FAs from the normal diet is sufficient and what effect omega 3 FAs supplementation may have on health. Data collection was carried out using a quantitative research method. The respondents are users of the supplement BalanceOil. First we sought to determine the daily intake of omega 6 FAs : omega 3 FAs from the diet and the effect of supplementation. In total, 23 blood tests and 41 questionnaire responses were obtained, 18 of which included average daily diet. By analyzing the data we found on average people from a normal dietary intake of 251 mg of EPA and DHA. This amount corresponds to the minimum recommended intake of EPA and DHA according to the World health organisation. However, the resulting ratio of omega 6 FAs to omega 3 FAs is unsatisfactory, namely 29 : 1. Using analysis of blood tests were found that prior to supplementation with BalanceOil omega 3 FAs was 22 : 1, after supplementation it was 4,44 : 1. This reduction has significant impact on the health status of users, most commonly on cardiovascular diseases.
Offenses in the Light of New Legislation
PŘÍPLATA, Milan
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the new legislation on offenses, and then to compare the new and old legislation. The bachelor thesis characterizes the new laws, which are Act No. 250/2016 Coll., 'the Act on Liability for Misdemeanours and Proceedings on Them', and Act No. 251/2016 Coll., 'the Act on Certain Misdemeanours'. One of the main points is to focus on new improvements in the new acts. The main source of information is quantitative research using the research method of a questionnaire. The respondents include employees of the relevant administrative authorities dealing with this issue. Another source of information is a controlled interview with the chairman of a misdemeanour commission. For a better idea, the research results are shown in tables and graphs.
"What impact did the communist ideology have on education at the primary school in Sepekov (1948-1989)?"
NOVOTNÁ, Lucie
This diploma thesis captures the development and changes of the primary school in the village of Sepekov in the period 1948-1989, when Czechoslovak education was under the influence of communist ideology. It describes changes in the school system of a national character and their specific impact on the functioning of the local school. The first chapter briefly deals with education until 1948. The other four chapters are divided according to the legislative changes in education during communism. This creates a comprehensive picture of the described period.
Elements of communication for increasing customers' loyalty
JIRÁŇOVÁ, Helena
The diploma thesis deals with elements of communication in order to increase customer loyalty. The aim of the thesis is to suggest changes in communication with customers and the use of elements of communication to increase customer loyalty to a selected store. The selected store is Jednota Kaplice cooperative. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the terms such as loyal customer, marketing communication as sales promotion, communication The second part of the diploma thesis is practical and includes a questionnaire survey. Data was collected through a questionnaire with 251 respondents. The respondents were disaggregated by age, gender, education, number of people in the household, and social-economic situation. The results of the survey showed, for example, that most of the customers buy groceries in stores three times a week. Most of the customers also participate in loyalty programs and use loyalty cards with benefits. If customers don't use a loyalty card, it is because the benefits are not interesting for them. The last part of the diploma thesis proposes recommendations for improvement. One of the proposals is to develop a mobile application for customers of Jednota Kaplice cooperative.
Fine structure of quasiperiodic emissions observed in the Earth's magnetosphere

Title: Fine structure of quasiperiodic emissions observed in the Earth's magne- tosphere Author: Vojtěch Partík Supervisor: doc. RNDr. František Němec, Ph.D. Abstract: Quasiperiodic emissions are a type of electromagnetic waves detected in the Earth's inner magnetosphere which are not yet fully understood. In this thesis, we use high resolution electric field data obtained by the DEMETER satellite, at an altitude of about 700 km, to analyze their fine inner structure. Overall, we analyzed 251 events, which were classified into three categories (with fine inner structure, without fine inner structure, and borderline cases). Additionally, we determined the periods of the fine inner structure and studied their dependance on relevant parameters. We show that the periods of the fine inner structure (on the order of seconds) do not significantly change during individual events and they are typically larger for events with longer modulation periods. We also show that the modulation periods of events without the fine inner structure are longer than the modulation periods of events with the fine inner structure, indicating their possibly different generation mechanisms. Keywords: DEMETER, quasiperiodic emissions, spectral analysis
"The victim of one's victim" The process of victimization in William Faulkner's The sound and the fury
Novotná, Ema ; Ulmanová, Hana (advisor) ; Nováková, Soňa (referee)
William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury was written eighty years ago but is still considered a unique and a remarkable novel. It was published in the "annus mirabilis" (Andrews 251), i.e. the miraculous year of 1929, which introduced literary works of authors who changed the world of literature substantially. Ernest Miller Hemingway's war novel A Farewell to Arms influenced other representatives of one literary generation, i.e. the Lost Generation just as Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own and Faulkner's essential novel participated in the genesis of a literary movement: Modernism, or American Modernism, respectively. The difficult structure of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury did not wait for first interpretations - it was discussed and analyzed the moment it reached the hands of critics, university professors and students. Scholars examined the peculiar specifics of Faulkner's style of writing as well as the tangled web of his meticulously constructed characters and his precisely arranged passages and chapters. Various aspects: his use of madness and sanity, his unique concept of time organized according to psychological rather than linear time, a stream of consciousness narrative, warped heroes, "disruptive female characters" (Roberts, XI) - all seen from the perspective of Faulkner's fictitious...
