Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke
Zbořilová, Martina ; Bačáková, Radka (advisor) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
Title: Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to obtain, to analyse and process received data about the activity and involvement of the selected measured muscles, working throughout one cycle of the rowing stroke - in the course of the drive phase and during the recovery part of the stroke as well. Methods: The work is processed by a kinesiological analysis of selected movement of the rowing stroke, based on the determination of muscle activation. Electromyography method was synchronized with the video recording. Results: Based on the sequences of the muscle activation was described their order and sequence in the actual shot of the rowing stroke (drive phase and recovery). We have proved that in the rigorous technical performance are always activated the same muscles in the exactly same order. Individual deviations from the correct technique in measuring appeared and thus enable their correction. Keywords: Electromyography, rowing, muscles, stroke.
Possibilities of respiratory therapy in children with spinal muscular atrophy
BRŮŽKOVÁ, Romana
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a rare, progressive, genetically conditioned disease that causes muscle wasting. Depending on its type, the disease can begin to appear at an early age. As the disease progresses, muscles of the whole body begin to weaken, causing the affected person to be bound to a wheelchair, forced to use various compensation tools and is dependent on the help of others. Very common complications of this disease are e.g. scoliosis, swelling of the limbs, contractures, and respiratory problems, to which need to be responded as soon as possible, as it is very serious complication and respiratory insufficiency in advanced stages may lead to death of the affected person. It is neccessary to strengthen breathing muscles, maintain lung volume by training and keep the airways clear and clean. The main goal of this thesis was to formulate the possibilites of respiratory therapy in children with the spinal muscular atrophy and to apply selected techniques of respiratory therapy and selected aiding tools along with the evalution of the effect. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the disease, its symptoms, diagnosis, and options of treatment such as pharmacotherapy, gene therapy, medical rehabilitation and respiratory therapy, which is crucial in children with spinal muscular atrophy. The practical part is based on qualitative research, where casuistries of three children with spinal muscular atrophy are processed. The research includes kinesiological analysis, muscular test, measurement of the chest circumference and spirometric examination. Based on this examination, a therapy plan was established. Lung function in all probands at the end of the therapy was approximately the same as at its beginning, which can be considered a positive effect of selected techniques due to the fact that SMA is a progressive disease.
Use of expanders in tennis training
Velebil, Matěj ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Vorálek, Rostislav (referee)
Title: Use of expanders in tennis training Objectives: The main object of this thesis is to draw up a conditioning training using resistance bands. The training will be divided into three parts. Different type of expander will be used in each part. These parts will be: warm up, main part and final stretching. Photographs of these different exercises will be enclosed. It will be create the stack of exercises with resistance bands. Results of this thesis could encourage tennis trainers to use these practical tools more often. Methods: On the basis of data analysis the fitness training, using expanders and divided into three parts, will be drawn up. The exercises will be validated in model training with adult players. After undergoing this suggested training an interview with players will be carried out. This will help as a feedback for evaluation of the training. Results: The result is a stack of exercises that can be used for condition in tennis training. The theoretical basis of the thesis deals with fitness factors as a complex influencing sports performance in tennis. The exercises were tested in model tennis training with adult players. Keywords: Exercises, player, fitness, resistance band, ability, muscles, tennis
The role of branched-chain amino acids in nutrition of strength athletes
Jelínková, Kristýna ; Caha, Jan (advisor) ; Vebr, Pavel (referee)
These are a significant group of essential amino acids - branched chain amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine and valine. There is evidence to suggest that supplementation of branched amino acids can be very beneficial for synthesis and reduction of muscle protein degradation in strength athletes. On the other hand, there are studies to find that BCAA supplementation is not useful for restoring damaged muscles and alleviating pain after exercise as expected. The aim of this work is to summarize the issue of branched amino acid metabolism and to compare their effects when used in the form of BCAA supplements in strength athletes. Keywords: amino acids, leucin, BCAA, fitness, strength, muscles
Physiotherapeutic processes for a patient after reconstruction of the rotator cuff
CHADTOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of rupture of rotator cuff tears and it is focused especially on subsequent physiotherapy for people who went through surgical treatment (rotator cuff repair). The theoretical part describes the anatomy and function of the shoulder girdle, focuses on the role of the rotator cuff. The theoretical part of this work is also dedicated to the etiology, symptoms and prevalence of tears, its diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Last but not least, the postoperative physiotherapeutic process is described. The practical part deals with the case studies of three patients who have undergone surgical reconstruction of the rotator cuff. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to propose and apply suitable physiotherapeutic process after rotator cuff repair. Another objective was to adapt the therapeutic unit to the frequent upper limb load to prevent the fixation of bad motion stereotypes. The last objective was to evaluate the possibility of returning to workload and to the usual types of daily activities according to the time distance from the surgery.
Evaluation of muscle with a tendency to shorten during a compensatory exercise program for a group between 20 - 30 years old at the center of a healthy lifestyle at PF
PAVLÍKOVÁ, Petra
The aim of this work is to increase muscle stretching with a tendency to shorten during the compensatory exercise program in the group of 20-30 years old at the center of healthy lifestyle at the PF in 2017/2018. This program includes the input and output measurement of the exercise probands. These measurements include anthropometric measurements, postural muscle testing, posture and BMI. The focus of this work is closely related to body posture and Thomayer's test. On the basis of the data obtained, verification of the compensatory exercise program will be carried out.
Compensation exercise program for a group of trainees women at the age from 20 to 30 years old in the centre of a healthy lifestyle at PF JU in the school year 2016/2017
PROCHÁZKOVÁ, Kristýna
The aim of the thesis is to compile and verify the compensation program for women between 20-30 years in the center of healthy lifestyle at PF in 2016/2017. The research included input and output measurements of practicing women, including body posture, anthropometric measurements, WHR index and BMI, fitness test, and functional muscular tests of postural muscles. The work is further focused on body posture, fitness test, and Thomayer test functional test. On the basis of the data obtained, verification of the compensation program will be carried out. For all women tested, improvement was noted after graduation, in the quality of posture, in the Ruffier test, and in the improvement of spine flexibility. The overall positive impact of the program was also observed in other measured values, such as, for example, functional tests of postural muscle. The compensation program therefore fulfilled its goal.
The influence of carnosine and hydroxymethylbutyrate on sports performance in the world literature.
Schöppelová, Lucie ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Haluzíková, Denisa (referee)
Title The influence of carnosine and hydroxymethylbutyrate on sport's performance in the world literature The aim of the work The aim of this bachelor thesis is to clarify influence of carnosine and hydroxymethylbutyrate (HMB) on sport's performance in the world literature. Methodology Presented thesis is mainly a literature review of the above topic. The data collection was done by meta-analysis of reliable quantitative and qualitative journals and studies where Carnosine and HMB in sports are concerned. Electronic databases PubMed and EBSCO were the main sources of the research. Results Meta-analysis shows, that β-alanine supplementation influences concentrations of muscle carnosine, but it rather not shows its influence on better sport's performance caused by higher level of muscle carnosine. Hence, it is necessary to conduct a few more studies to clarify influence of carnosine supplementation on sport's performance. Furthermore, the thesis proves that supplementation of HMB together with intensive training program has an efficient impact on the sport performance and that HMB protects muscles damage due to severe training.
