Visual Poetry in the Network of the International Communication. Terms, Categories, Typology
Krátká, Eva ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Langerová, Marie (referee) ; Pomajzlová, Alena (referee)
The doctoral thesis is concerned diachronically with the term "visual poetry". The focus is on its progress during the period after the Second World War in the context of the extensively advanced movement, as substantially defined in international expert discussion. The use of the term, which is supported by the arguments of many theoreticians and artists of the period, is studied in the thesis from the viewpoint of the inspirational sources and specific contacts between art and literature. The focus is on the specific positions and strategies of visual perception. Visual poetry is studied - considering the different contexts of the European avant-garde movements and through the analysis of contemporaneous theories which defined three main lines of thought - as an incoherent art stream manifesting itself in the eclectic use of artistic media. In conclusion, the thesis looks at the project of Czech author poetics typology which grew from purely Czech examples based on formal language of the visual poetry works. The thesis seeks to point out the original aspects of the internal discussion of visual poetry, and to place it in the international context.
Hyaluronan in chondrogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells
Dvořáková, Jana ; Kobylka, Petr (advisor) ; Handl, Milan (referee) ; Petr, Jaroslav (referee)
6 SUMMARY OF THE THESIS The main aim of the project was to develop a methodological approach of in-vitro chondrogenic graft preparation. This graft should utilise mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) seeded in a hyaluronan based scaffold. A review of known hyaluronan derivatives with a potential for biological applications was prepared in the first phase of the project. (Sedova, Knotkova et al. 2007) As a result of the review, a hydrogel based on tyramine derivative of hyaluronan cross-linked by peroxidase (HA-TA scaffold) was chosen for the following research. A sufficiently rich, reliable and ethically acceptable source of MSCs was required. Washed bone marrow collection sets remaining after bone marrow collection for transplantation purposes was demonstrated to meet these needs. (Dvorakova, Hruba et al. 2008) MSCs reveal specific features, namely low seeding density and morphological changes during culture, which may affect the outcome of cell viability measurements in experiments. In order to solve this complication, three different methods of cell viability determination were compared, and the luminiscent detection of intracellular ATP was recommended for MSC applications. (Vistejnova, Dvorakova et al. 2009) Hyaluronan influence on chondrogenic differentiation of MSCs was evaluated in a pellet micromass system...

Chinese reaction to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine
Rothschein, Tomáš ; Kazharski, Aliaksei (advisor) ; Šenk, Michal (referee)
The main objective of Diploma Thesis: "Chinese reaction to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine" is to determine whether and how has the war in Ukraine influenced Sino-Russian relations. To determine this, the paper focuses on a research question: "Why did China not oppose Russia's invasion of Ukraine despite its long-lasting tradition of non-interference policy?". To answer the question, the paper contains a complex analysis of the evolution of the modern Sino-Russian relations, its converging and diverging tendencies, the history and relevance of the Chinese policy of non-interventionism and indicators proving close Sino- Russian cooperation despite the ongoing war effort. The tracked indicators are composed of joint-military exercises, number of official visits, official statements, and perceived patterns of behaviour in the UN Security Council. All of these factors would subsequently be analysed through the prism of Neoclassical realism. The results of the study indicate the partially fading importance of the non-interference policy, which can be outweighed by the realist cost/benefit calculations. Consequently, the said balance of power logic and attempts to maximalise state power were concluded to be the motor behind the post-invasion Sino-Russian rapprochement.
The effect of emergency medical service arrival time on survival of cardiac arrest in the field due to cardiac causes
Chaloupková, Petra ; Knor, Jiří (advisor) ; Brizgalová, Nikola (referee)
The diploma thesis dealt with the influence of the emergency medical service arrival time onthe survival of cardiac arrest due to cardiac causes. In the research part of the work weworked with the data of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) from Pardubice Region for the year 2022. Descriptive statistics, the Chi-square test of independence and Fisher exact test were used inthe thesis with hypothesis testing at a significance level of 0.05, i.e. 5 %. From the total number of 323 cases, in which sudden cardiac arrest occurred, data from 163individuals were selected. The time of EMS arrival at the place of the incident was investigated in connection with achieving ROSC or exitus lethalis. In Pardubice Region the most common EMS arrival time for OHCA was 6-10 minutes. At the same time, this is also an arrival time slot, in which the most patients (44.93 %) achieved ROSC. It therefore follows follows from this data that the arrival time of the EMS to the OHCA has an effect on survival. The thesis also looked at the factor of laic CPR before the arrival of the EMS, which could have an effect on survival in OHCA cases. During the observed period, laic CPR was provided to 67.48 % patients out of which only 27.27 % achieved ROSC. This indicates that the outcome of CPR is not affected by laic CPR. Last but...
Analysis of crawl swimming technique
Veselá, Barbora ; Zenáhlík, Aleš (advisor) ; Hubená, Kristýna (referee)
This thesis focuses on a detailed analysis of the freestyle with emphasis on technique and efficiency of movement in the aquatic environment. The research investigated the influence of various factors such as head and body position on the changes in the technical expression of the swimmer. In addition, possible changes related to the inclusion of selected technical exercises and the use of specific aids were investigated to help improve swimming technique. The data for the analysis were obtained from the swimmer's movements captured in video recordings, which were subsequently processed. This process involved careful movement analysis and observation of key aspects of technique. The movement of the individual was observed in the FLUM swimming laboratory at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University. Subsequently, a comparison of the results obtained with existing literature in the field of swimming was made to identify any differences and similarities. The discussion then focuses on the main research questions and compares the results obtained with expectations and with the literature. These findings have the potential to contribute to a better understanding of kraul swimming technique and improve swimming instruction. They are also an important source of information for...
Comparison of dietary habits among heated tobacco users and conventional smokers
Strojná, Natália ; Pánková, Alexandra (advisor) ; Králíková, Eva (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis was a comparison of the eating habits of users of heated tobacco compared to smokers of conventional cigarettes. The main aim of the bachelor thesis was to compare whether there are significant changes in the eating habits of heated tobacco users compared to conventional cigarette smokers using responses from an eating habits questionnaire. The study compared the eating habits of 18 respondents who were divided into a heated tobacco user group (8 respondents) with a mean age of 41 ± 5.66 and a conventional cigarette smoker group (8 respondents) with a mean age of 55 ± 15.09. The parameters under statistical investigation were protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber, dairy products and fruit intake along with vegetables. Student's two-sample unpaired t-test for mean was used for statistical comparison of the groups. Before performing the t-test, the F-test was used in which each parameter was subjected to analysis for the so-called equality of variance. The resulting means of the observed traits between the sets were as follows: protein p = 0.585859, fat p = 0.536003, carbohydrate p = 0.689622, fiber p = 0.94961, dairy p = 0.475181, fruit and vegetables p = 0.544135. All observed traits were not statistically significant, given that we considered the significance level to...
Physiological prerequisites for breastfeeding preterm neonates
Dvořáková, Martina ; Zlatohlávková, Blanka (advisor) ; Burianová, Iva (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the physiological prerequisites of breastfeeding in premature newborns. Breastfeeding premature infants presents significant challenges due to physiological, neurological, and developmental limitations that affect their ability to suck, swallow and breathe effectively. My main aim was to determine when infants admitted to the intensive care unit and intermediate care unit reach breastfeeding milestones. Important milestones observed include first nonnutritive sucking, first nutritive sucking and archieving full oral intake. I also investigated the type of nutrition with which infants are discharged from hospital. My thesis was divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part I discuss the importance of breast milk and breastfeeding for premature infants, the development of sucking, the development of swallowing, and the development of breathing. I also address the coordination of sucking, swallowing and breathing. I also address the transition from tube feeding to oral nutrition. I described the work of a lactation consultant. In the practical part I have processed data of 26 hospitalized preterm infants. These infants archieved on average the first nonnutritive suck at 31+4 GA (range of values 30+0 to 33+5). The infants managed the first...
Tactics and strategies of the opposition - obstructions as a political weapon
Pchálková, Tereza ; Brunclík, Miloš (advisor) ; Jágr, David (referee)
The thesis focuses on the phenomenon of obstruction in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in the eighth and ninth electoral terms, which is specific to the exchange of political parties in the executive and opposition roles. Theoretically, the thesis is set in the themes of opposition and obstruction. For this, the literature is primarily based on Miroslav Novák's article Political Party Systems and Basic Models of Opposition, Michal Kubát's publication Political Opposition in Theory and Central European Practice, Jan Wintr's book Czech Parliamentary Culture, and the Rules of Procedure of the Lower House of Parliament, resp. its annotated version by Jindřiška Syllová and colleagues. During theoretical research, the author came across an insufficient interpretation of the term and therefore came up with her own definition. The author of the thesis set the research question: How does the obstruction strategy of political parties of the opposition differ? and attempts to answer it through qualitative research. The subject of analysis in the thesis are case studies of two state budget bills, namely for 2021 and 2024, for which all three legislative readings were examined. The incidence of filibusters is then tracked through four codes: length of debate, factual remarks,...
