Relationship Between Real Interest Rate Differentials and the Exchange Rate in Relation to the Sovereign Credit Rating

The subject of this Master's thesis is an investigation of the relationship between real interest rate differentials and exchange rates, or rather an empirical verification of the theory, as well as to assess the impact of the sovereign credit rating on this relationship.. The thesis examines countries that have their own monetary policy and a floating exchange rate regime. The correlation analysis, also supported by Granger causality, is based on monthly data for 91 currency pairs of 14 countries for the period 1998 to 2023.
Risk Management of Bank Credit System and Decision Making Process

The theoretical part of this thesis describes the development of Czech banking sector, especially with emphasis on post-revolutionary rebirth within the new conditions of market economy. The following part demonstrates the decision-making credit account process of a bank on a particular case study based on the methodics and procedures leading up to maximal elimination of credit risk. At the same time, the author presents a partially modified internal opinion on a decision of particular business transaction. It is accented that every decision of a bank must comply with the regulations of CNB. The conclusion of the thesis affirms the maximal efforts of domestic banks to minimalize risks within their decision-making credit account processes, which is mirrored in current stability in the development of Czech banking sector.

This doctoral thesis is an outcome of research in the field of financial performance and credibility evaluation of enterprises and an artificial intelligence apparatus in decision making. Within the framework of a cognitive objective is a complex analysis in the field of financial credibility of enterprises and artificial intelligence, as this subject is currently perceived first of all in the Czech, but also in foreign literature. Within the framework of this objective a convenient instrument in the field of an evaluation of financial performance of enterprises was chosen. For an applied evaluation of financial credibility, a convenient instrument oriented at assessment of risk spread for a calculation of equity capital costs was chosen. An inventive objective is a proposition of a rating model, application of chosen artificial intelligence apparatus for assessment of risk spread for the calculation of equity capital costs on the basis of proposed rating model and compilation of algorithm for calculation of equity capital cost.

Use of Fuzzy Logic in Investment Risk Evaluation

This master thesis is dealing with development and application of a model that employs fuzzy logic. The model is used to support a decision of a selected Czech company that plans to invest abroad and establish a subsidiary. Selected indicators determine an investment risk in all countries considered for the investment. The model was implemented in parallel in two systems: MS Excel and MATLAB®.

The master thesis focuses at analysis and research of synergy and self-organization in economics. The motivation for the thesis was joining Czech Republic and other nine countries to the European Union on May 1st, 2004. The primary aim was to analyse the problem and on a model example,assuming "ceteris paribus", confirm or refute the thought, that joining the European Union has positive synergic effect for newcomers. The second meaning of synergy is solved as a sub-problem in the master thesis, where the use of synergy in logistics was analysed and opportunities improving the current situation were suggested.

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o řízení dodavatelů firmy. Odlišné softwary jsou použity pro applikace fuzzy logiky. Nejprve jsou představeni dodavatelé firmy pro asijský region. Dále jsou vybrány hlavní parametry které vztahy s dodavateli ovlivňují a jsou použity jako vstupy pro fuzzy model. Fuzzy model poté na základě nastavených pravidel vyhodnotí vstupy a dává hodnotu na výstupu. Výstup je tedy hodnota, která vyjadřuje rating dodavatele a říká, který by měl být preferován.

The master’s thesis deals with the use of fuzzy logic for evaluating the quality of suppliers of IT goods and other material for a selected company. The fuzzy model should facilitate decisions when selecting individual suppliers who should deliver goods for the implementation of IT projects. The model created in Microsoft Excel and MathWorks MATLAB should be helpful to the company's management and sales representatives.
