The face as an index

The bachelor´s thesis Face as an index deals with the relationship between man and machine. It exam-ines this issue through the phenomenon of face recognition technology and its connections with the context of mass surveillance. In the first part, the author introduces the reader to the psychological and brain processes that are associated with facial recognition. Further, on concrete examples of neurosci-ence research associated with these processes, he shows a connection with the development of machine recognition of the face. . In the part about dealing with the historical connotations of the development of face recognition technology, the author discusses the key moments that lead to its implementation into practice. The issue of the database, the change of the technological principle and the relation between the private and the public sector in connection with the use of the above mentioned technology is examined by the author in the next chapter reflecting its state in the last few years. In the last part of the thesis, he reflects the relationship between man and machine through artistic projects focusing on the human face and the phenomenon of machine vision.

The first phase of this work, I would like to dedicate a few sociological analysis
concepts arising under the influence of postmodern and mark them as key concepts,
which I will use for my diploma thesis.
In the next phase I want to understand how much we can trace the roots of this topic in the
history.
And the final phase I want to present the term "Imitacianismus» as designating
art term with using media avatars. In order to well
analyze this issue, I want to examine some examples of artworks that are
associated with it.

introduction:
The theme of the thesis is based on personal experience. In 2016, I intuitively felt that artists working with thematic themes would start to harden in their approach and make the creation more radical. So I wrote in the bathroom on the mirror the statement FUCK HARDER IN 2K17. It turned out I was right, and indeed 2017 was a sign of radicalism in more directions - from visual art, video clips, music, pop culture to fashion photography. In my work I would like to concentrate on this subject and selected artist from all over the world. Understand your perception of this phenomenon over the current work of selected artists, and on the basis of this you can easily indicate the further development of these artists. The selection of artists will be key to the work and will be intuitive, complemented by interviews with artists. Intuition at work will be the next key to link everything you can imagine.

Botanic Expansion

In the context of contamporary Czech science scene is nowadays possible to find several persons, whose activity is exceeding area of exact research. Projects realized by those people are in discours targed by primary focus of the field of their study, however by its quality often tend to interdiciplinar space. One of the main aspects which is possible to find in this kind of work is significant accent of aesthetic viewing of that problematic. Almost obsessive tension of this interdisciplinary thinking is present in work of botanic Jan Albert Šturma, whose science and artistic research is focused on expansive plants in European context. His activities are full of formal similarities with Czech underground scene of 60s and 70s, mostly happenings around bands The Primitives Group, Plastic People of the Universe and Dg. 307. Yet realized land art installations are typical by their intuitive unchained atmosphere and inclination to pseudosacral theme. This work aims to chart selected projects of Albert Šturma in the way of creative research and with use of participating observation method document the actual ones.

FROM NON-TRADITIONAL SPACES – INSIDE AND

The aim of the thesis is to present the Bachelor's degree program KALD DAMU
Theater Creation in Non-traditional Spaces at KALD DAMU (2012–2015),
especially the content of the field of performance. The historical context of the
field both in the Czech Republic and in the world is described in the introductory
part, following that, I continue with my own personal theater history. The specific
experience of my study of Performance and focus on working with space and
place are elaborated on. That is followed by descriptions of projects created in
the course of my master's program in dramaturgy at KLAD DAMU that were
influenced by my studies at DTNP. In the final chapter, I evaluate the significance
of the now defunct study program.

The Relationship between Human Body and Technology in Dramatic Space

This diploma thesis is an attempt to reflect the use of current digital technologies in the
scenic space and their influence on the work of actors. It tries to shortly describe the
development and principles of neo-media works, as well as the form of Live Cinema,
mainly in the theatrical context. It examines the position of real, living objects/subjects, in
contrast to immaterial and virtual images that are made up of light or sound. The
possibilities of mutual influence of technologies and bodies are described on selected
performances in the Czech theater context. How does technology change the actor's
work? Does it affect the basic theatrical relationship between the body of the actor and
the spectator's body? Are the mediative forms of theater destructing its "liveness"? How
does viewer perception transforms? These and similar questions are crucial to this thesis.

Když jsem se začínal zajímat o umění, ihned jsem byl fascinován emocemi a zkušenostmi, které vám Umění může přinést. Vliv umění mne inspiroval odjakživa. Prozkoumával jsem mnohé zkušenosti a koncepty světa ve snaze změnit naše vize a stav mysli. Zkušenosti s formou a prostorem v umění vytvářejí nový svět v naší mysli, což je ideální způsob k procítění emoce Uměleckého Díla.
V dnešní době je zapotřebí probudit představivost v myslích lidí, kteří jsou často sobečtí a frustrovaní. Od začátku století je koncepce světa v umění falešná, postrádající citlivost, a proto musíme dokázat, že svět může být zachráněn.
V dnešní době je zapotřebí býti frustrovaný, unavený, ustrašený, nemocný, šťastný a v lásce. V tomto novém věku moderních strojů a vyspělých technologií chceme zažívat nové zkušenosti. Jsme závislí na sledování představ v realitě. Což je i pro mne způsob, jak cítit emoce.

Food as a Source of Meanings in Conceptual Art

“Food as a Source of Meanings in Conceptual Art: Artistic Attitudes of Alison Knowles and Rirkrit Tiravanija” is a case study that examines the spectre of meanings mediated by food in the 20th century art and context-dependent changes of those. The thesis describes and compares the meanings of cooking and eating in Alison Knowles's pieces Propostion: Make a Salad and The Identical Lunch and Rirkrit Tiravanija's pieces Untitled (Pad/Thai) and Untitled (Free/Still), with regard to their contemporary and artistic context (Fluxus and relational aesthetics). It explores when do these activities - using quotidian acts - become an art piece and what mythology do these two artists build around themselves. One of the important aspects examined is a motive of connectivity.

Scenographic Work with Documentary Material

Bachelors thesis describes documentary project Family Dinner and the preceding partial
projects Peace Generation and My name is Sara Millesson, which study possible
methods of work with documentary approach to scenography. Thesis puts these partial
topics in context of current world documentary theatre, performance and conceptual art.
It follows the path of the topic from the initial idea to the fully realised thing. The point of
this bachelor thesis is to reverse engineer the processes which lead to the final form and
name them.
