Vajglová, Tereza ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Macháčková, Kateřina (referee)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the application of electrical stimulation according to Jantsche on spastic musculus gastrocnemius in patients after stroke. The parameters investigated are the effect of this stimulation on the reduction of spasticity, the effect on gait speed and the investigation of the immediate and longer-term effect. The theoretical part is devoted to defining the concept, describing the etiology and pathogenesis of stroke and spasticity. In addition, this section describes the treatment options and therapeutic procedures that are used today. An integral part of the thesis is the research section, which describes the existing knowledge in the areas addressed in this bachelor thesis. The practical part is preceded by the methodology, which summarizes the examinations used and the methods practiced. The examination was carried out three times in total and I used the Tardieu scale, 10 Meter Walk Test, 2 Minute Walk Test and Timed Up and Go Test. The probands who participated in the examination were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group and the control group. Participants in the experimental group have odd numbers and participants in the control group have even numbers. The experimental group underwent electrical stimulation according to Jantsch followed by...

Attitudes of active smokers, patients of outpatient services, after a stroke towards smoking
Horvátová, Tatiana ; Svěcená, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kulhánek, Adam (referee)
Background: "A stroke is a brain disease caused by a sudden vascular supply malfunction" (Růžička, 2019, p. 213) and "nn the Czech Republic, it affects more than 50,000 people every year" (Zámečník et al., 2019, p. 676). Smoking is one of the most common modifiable risk factors of its occurrence. Chemicals in cigarettes are involved in the development of atherosclerosis and other pathologies leading to stroke and heart disease (Kim et al., 2012). Research suggests that even a complex life event, such as a stroke, does not lead to quitting smoking in many patients. This may be related to the low awareness of the population that smoking is a risk factor for stroke despite relatively high awareness of the negative effects of cigarettes in general. The emotional relationship of smokers to smoking is strong and the rationalization of smoking is strong as well. Aim: The aim of the thesis is to find out the attitudes of active smokers after a stroke towards smoking. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a research part. The theoretical part focuses on the issue of stroke, risk factors for its occurrence and explains the conative, cognitive, and emotional components of attitudes. In the research part, the attitudes towards smoking of active smokers after a stroke are determined. Methods: Data...
Nutritional interventions for patients with brain injuries and movement limitations
Kadečková, Klára ; Sládková, Petra (advisor) ; Svěcená, Kateřina (referee)
Patients with acquired brain damage, who are attending rehabilitation day-care center on the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the General Hospital and the First Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, are often limited by fatigue and lack of energy. Patients are attending day hospital mainly with brain damage acquired after stroke and less often also after brain trauma. Secondary prevention of atherosclerosis development or progression and prevention of stroke relapse is very important with these patients. Nutritional intervention plays significant role in prevention and treatment of many risk factors of an atherosclerotic artery damage. Common consequence of brain damage is development of secondary sarcopenia. Patient in day hospital must bring their own food. Individualized program as a result from examination by the multidisciplinary team doesn't include nutritional assessment. Study with patients with acquired brain damage was carried out on Department of Rehabilitation. Study used bioelectrical impedance analysis provided by InBody 370 S. Body composition of patients was measured. This data and anthropometric measurements were evaluated for presence of metabolic and cardiovascular disease risk factors. Muscle mass percentage was evaluated as well. Study found out that most...

Kozerawska, Natália ; Sohrová, Jana (advisor) ; Křížková, Štěpánka (referee)
Title: A case report of physiotherapeutic care of a patient after ischemic stroke Objective: The aim of this thesis is to summarize the theoretical information on the topic of stroke and then to develop a case report of a patient after ischemic stroke with right-sided hemiparesis. Methods: This bachelor thesis deals with stroke and is divided into two parts - general and special. The general part contains the main theoretical information about stroke. In addition, the physiotherapist's examination typical of the diagnosis is described, together with a selection of methods and procedures most commonly used in the physiotherapeutic care of these patients. The special section includes a case report of a patient after ischemic stroke with subsequent right-sided hemiparesis, including the initial and final kinesiological examination, the course of individual therapies and a summary of the effect of therapy. The background for the special part was obtained during the continuous professional practice at the Department of Post- operative Rehabilitation at the Regional Hospital Kladno from 9 January to 3 February 2023 under the supervision of the supervisor Mgr. Dita Hamouzová. Results: The patient improved in several aspects, especially in overall stability and range of active motion. However, there was...
Organization of the care and nursing process at the stroke center
ŠESTAUBEROVÁ, Anna
This bachelor thesis deals with the organization of care and the nursing process at the stroke centre. The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and research part. The theoretical part deals mainly with stroke, patient care at the stroke centre and associations after stroke. The main goal of the theoretical part was to describe a stroke, its treatment and nursing care by a nurse in a patient with stroke. The research part of the bachelor thesis is processed using qualitative research, for which two goals were set and one research question for each goal. The first goal of the research survey mapped the organization of care at the stroke centre. The first research question is related to this goal and examined the course of the organization of care in the stroke centre. The second set goal of the research survey was to determine the course of the nursing process at the stroke centre. To achieve the second goal, a second research question was set asking about the way the nursing process takes place at the stroke centre. Data collection was performed using semi-structured interviews with nurses working at the stroke centre. The research group consisted of six nurses. The interviews were recorded and then literally transcribed. The obtained data were processed using the coding method, the "pencil and paper" technique. The results were then categorized and evaluated. The research showed that we qualify care at the stroke centre as intensive, focusing on patients after stroke. With regard to ischemic stroke, the patient is hospitalized at a stroke centre with ongoing thrombolysis, which has been applied by the nurse at the emergency department after CT scan. In the case of hemorrhagic stroke, the patient is treated conservatively at the stroke centre. At the same time, we learned how the nursing process takes place in a patient after stroke who is hospitalized at a stroke centre. The results of the survey are used to create a basis for a seminar for nurses working at the stroke centre, which will serve to deepen their knowledge.

Informal client care after CMP.
VLNATÁ, Jana
The focus of the thesis is on the informal caregiver and family, who cares for a family member who has had a stroke. This topic is very relevant because CMP is one of the most common causes of disability and death, both in the Czech Republic and worldwide. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the study of literature and is divided into 4 basic areas. The first area characterizes the concept of brain and stroke, describes the causes, distribution, symptoms, treatment and consequences of this health and life-threatening event. The second area is the division of coordinated rehabilitation, which is necessary after a stroke, whether it be medical, social, pedagogical, work rehabilitation or spa care. The third area focuses on poststroke therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and psychology. The next area focuses on forms of social assistance, without which home care for a close person would not be possible, and includes a care subsidy, a special aid subsidy, a mobility subsidy, a disability card and pension. Last but not least, terms such as formal and informal care are explained. The method of qualitative research using semi-structured interview technique was chosen for the elaboration of the practical part. The research group consisted of seven members of the South Bohemian Region who take care of a close member of their family for a long time at home. The interviews were recorded and then literally rewritten. In my research, I tried to answer the question: "What are the family's difficulties in caring for family members after having suffered from CMP and what are their most common problems?" In the discussion, I summarized the findings and hypothesised, based on research. The results of the diploma thesis can serve as a source of information for persons after the stroke and thein families and help to educate the public.
