Increasing of fatigue life of a ball pin using roller burnishing
Bastl, Václav ; Kolomý, Štěpán (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis carried out in cooperation with THK Rhythm Automotive Czech a.s. is focused on the problematics of fatigue life of ball pins in a car‘s suspension. As an option of increasing this parameter, roller burnishing is the proposed technology of surface treatment on the ball pin. Rolling parameters are designed, and fatigue tests and evaluation of the measured values are performer on the subsequently modified pins.
The influence of a computational model of crank train dynamics on engine block load
Charvát, Adam ; Dlugoš, Jozef (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This work investigates the influence of the computational model of the cranktrain dynamics on the engine block load around the main bearings depending on the discretization level of the bodies used. Four variants of the computational model of the cranktrain in the Multi-Body System software SIMDRIVE 3D are compared with respect to the load on the main bearings. Based on the obtained loads, a strength analysis of the EA211 series 1,5 MPI mass-production engine block, manufactured by ŠKODA AUTO, is performed, including the influence of pre-stress during the assembly of the cylinder head and bearing caps. To evaluate the results, a fatigue life calculation is performed, and the endurance safety factors in the grooves on the bottom of the engine block are compared.
The High Pressure Fuel System Application for CI-engine
Ševčík, Ondřej ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the design of new high pressure injection system application on diesel engine. The design came from company Zetor’s demands. For this application was chosen system Common Rail supplied by company Bosch. Assignment was separated into several tasks. Research of suitable components for low pressure section, design of waste system and high pressure injection tubes design including injector clamping. Due to injectors used in this system was necessary to redesign cover for valves and even new system to lead wires from outside of the engine to injectors. Injector is attached by screw connection, which is composed from screw and clamping jaw. These parts are subjected to an analytic calculations. Clamping jaw of injector is even subjected to a FEM analysis, which focuses on fatigue life. Finally, the drawings were documented.
Modern methods surface treatment of steering ball joint pin with respect to the fatigue life
Franc, Petr ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is created under study department of B-SSZ Construction machinery and equipment construction. The scope is analysis of surface treatment method influence on ball pin fatigue life. This topic has not yet been systematicaly analyzed in this branch. The thesis can be used as a guideline for choosing optimal surface coating method.
Influence of residual stress on pressure vessel part fatigue life
Boleloucký, Václav ; Vincour, Dušan (referee) ; Létal, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the impact of a residual stress, caused by an applied cyclic pressure, on fatigue life of a pressure vessel part (flat end–cylinder connection). Bachelor’s thesis includes the design of the pressure vessel according to CSN EN 13 445 regulations, analytical solution in Maple software, from which stresses and deformations are determined. Then the results of the analytical approach are firstly verified by a FEM modelling in ANSYS Workbench software and secondly compared to each other in graphs and discussed. From the values of stresses in FEM, analysis fatigue life expectations are calculated with the respect to CSN EN 13 445 regulations, for two cases. First one, where a pressure test is applied and second one, where the pressure test is not applied before the pressure vessel is put into service. In the conlusion the obtained results are discussed.
Influence of surface modifications on fatigue life
Gerec, Matúš ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Vopařil, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents the description of surface treatment technologies used on dynamically loaded mechanical parts. It explains the influence of each surface treatment on high–cycle fatigue life. Then the thesis describes the analytical calculation of fatigue limit of real part and approach to design of mechanical part on infinite life.
Fatigue life of crankshaft
Wolf, David ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Vopařil, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the crankshaft as one of the most dynamically stressed component of internal combustion engines. At the beginning describes in the wider context how is the crankshaft of internal combustion engines strained. Then it considers individual parts of crankshaft, which are affecting its construction in terms of fatigue life. And in the last section describes the different ways to eliminate the damage caused by cyclic loading and modern methods of fatigue life prediction of crankshafts.
Fatigue Life Evaluation of Composites Structures
Mihalides, Dušan ; Kopřiva, Tomáš (referee) ; Juračka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with fatigue life evaluation of composites structures. The thesis pro-vides complex review of problematic and it is based on recent situation assessment. The main ob-jective of the thesis is to design the methodology of fatigue life evaluation of composites struc-tures. The designed methodology is applied to fatigue life evaluation of sailplane wing and propel-ler blades. One part of the thesis deals with laboratory fatigue tests of composite specimens which are intended for comparison of the effect of manufacturing technology and environment condition.
Evaluation of mechanical characteristics of metalic materials under cyclic loading
Vlach, Jiří ; Slámečka, Karel (referee) ; Horníková, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on study mechanical characteristics of metalic materials under cyclic loading. In the first section there are summarized current facts about three fatigue stages: fatigue hardening/softening, microcrack nucleation and crack propagation. This part also contains information about fatigue life, fatigue strength and fatigue limit. The main aim of practical part was to evaluate the Wöhler´s curve, also called S-N curve.
Lifetime Prediction of the Welded Ribbed Generator Shaft
Ryšánek, Michal ; Pokorný, Pavel (referee) ; Majer, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master thesis deals primarily with the prediction of fatigue life of welded ribbed shaft. Recommendations taken from the International Institute of Welding (IIW) are used to express the stress values and the fatigue life. The stress values of examined place are expressed by approach of nominal stress, structural hot spot stress and effective notch stress. Results from stress-strain analysis are combined together with fatigue strength curves for prediction of the fatigue life. At the end of the analysis, the predicted fatigue life is compared with design life of welded ribbed shaft.
