The History of czech schools in nature and their development over the last 50 years from the perspective of czech citizens

Title: The History of czech schools in nature and their development over the past 50 years from the Perspective of czech citizens Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to investigate the personal experiences of Czech citizens with schools in nature. Respondents were primarily asked about the purpose, form, content, and significance of these schools. Methods: This bachelor thesis is a theoretical-empirical work with quantitative research, utilizing an online survey as the research technique. The survey consisted of 24 questions and was completed by 151 respondents who attended primary school in the Czech Republic. Results: The results showed that most schools in nature now last about one week, much shorter than in the past when they could last several weeks. These programs most commonly occur in the 4th grade, but some schools participate annually. 89.6% of respondents said learning took place only in the mornings, mostly indoors. For extracurricular activities, respondents most frequently mentioned hiking and nature games. The socialization goal was highlighted as key, emphasizing improved relationships among students and between students and teachers. Outdoor experiential learning at nursery schools

Title: Outdoor experiential learning at nursery schools Aim: The aim of the work is to find out which activities in nature using learning through direct experience are included by kindergarten teachers in pre-school education and in what form. Method: Qualitative semi-structured interviews were conducted with 3 preschool teachers in two cities (1.3 million and 11,000 inhabitants) and one village (910 inhabitants) in the Czech Republic. The interview consisted of 18 questions, which were supplemented with additional questions arising from the situation during the interview. The research material obtained from the interviews was sorted into pre-created categories and then interpreted. The analysis was carried out using open coding. Results: The results of the interview showed that when outdoors, teachers tend to prefer unstructured spontaneous activities for children, where children self-realize and learn through direct experience. During spontaneous play, children explore their surroundings, play in sandboxes, or on jungle gyms. When engaged in structured activities outdoors, the most common ones are physical games or ball games (e.g., tag, soccer, ...). Outdoor learning in physical education classes in primary schools in the Czech Republic

Title: Outdoor learning in physical education classes in primary schools in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to map the current state of outdoor teaching in physical education classes in selected primary schools (age 6 to 15) in the Czech Republic, and to analyze and compare teaching in urban and rural schools. Methods: The questionnaire survey was addressed to physical education teachers. A quantitative approach to research was used. The research sample consisted of 27 physical education teachers from 4 urban and 5 rural primary schools from the Czech Republic. Results: We found that all teachers use outdoor physical education classes when the class time and weather permit. They use this option because of the larger space, more activity options, and because the benefits of outdoor learning are applied. Activities such as athletics, ball sports and sports games are mostly included in outdoor PE lessons. Activities in the natural environment occur to a lesser extent in physical education. The difference in outdoor physical education between urban and rural primary schools is minimal. Title of thesis: Benefits and risks of Parkrun The thesis dealt with the Parkrun project, which can be classified as outdoor activity. The aim of the thesis was to assess the health and social benefits and risks of Parkrun. This is a research paper, the main sources of information of which were the electronic database EBSCO and the official website of the Parkrun organization, together with electronic articles and reports about Parkrun. When assessing the health benefits and risks of Parkrun, the thesis reached the following conclusions: Parkrun brings physical health benefits in the form of general improvement and maintenance of physical fitness. In particular, it helps to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood, reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, and thus represents the prevention of the occurrence of civilization diseases. In addition, it can dampen the symptoms of asthma and help reduce the inflammation of the airways. Risks for physical health can be extreme manifestations of the weather - especially heat or cold. Another risk may be the load on the joints in the case of incorrect technique and the predominant hard surface. Title: Schools in nature in primary education in the Karlovy Vary Region Objectives: To summarize a survey of programme parts of schools in nature at primary schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Methods: The bachelor thesis uses a quantitative approach to research. The necessary information was obtained by the questionnaire survey method. The research sample counted 20 teachers from primary schools in the Karlovy Vary Region. Results: Primary schools in the Karlovy Vary Region organise schools in nature. The main aims are to build a class team and to increase the pupils' understanding of the teacher-pupil relationship. The main activities used in the programme are outdoor trips, hiking and outdoor games. The daily programme consists of a morning lesson, an afternoon spent in nature and various games, while the evening programme includes board games and screenings. Conclusion: According to the results, schools in nature are a popular part of pupils' education in the Karlovy Vary Region outside the traditional school environment. Using experiential learning for non-formal teaching history at secondary schools

Title: Using experimental learning for non-formal teaching of history at lower-secondary schools and for corresponding grades of eight- or six-year grammar schools. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to create and realize a non-formal educational programme for a 9th graders of lower-secondary schools and for the corresponding grades of eight- or six-year grammar schools, which would serve to complement teaching of history with help of using elements of experiential learning. The secondary aim was evaluate programme by students themselves by using survey. Methods: The research group consisted of 54 students of the 9th graders of elementary school and the corresponding grade of eight- or six-year grammar schools. Data collection was based on using a self administered survey, which contained six closed question and one open-ended question. The data was evaluated with using graphs and descriptive statistics. Results: The survey results show that 53,7 % of the probands had never experienced a similar educational program before. Planning and organization of summer camps is the primary concern of this thesis. All the necessary aspects of organization, such as choosing the right location, creating the daily programme or even the ecological impacts summer camps have on out planet are present. The thesis also offers practical advice and tips for effective management. Outdoor activities and sports courses at secondary schools in the Nymburk region

Title: Courses of outdoor sports and activities in high schools of the Nymburk district Aims: The primary aim of this work was to map the offer of courses of outdoor activities and sports in high schools of the Nymburk district. Methods: The results for this work were collected by the for of questionnaires. Seven high schools from the Nymburk district were included in the research of this work, with either personal or electronic communication. The questionnaire contained 17 questions and the collected results were analysed using standard statistical methods. The final findings were visualised and interpreted using graphic charts. Results: We have determined that all the surveyed high schools offer at least two outdoor courses for their students. Private schools offer the most nature activities and sports courses - 6 and 4 courses. The most common offered course was a ski course, which was available at all the surveyed high schools. It was also the most popular course among the students (85,7 %). The second most frequently offered course was an adaptation course (85,7 %), and a 57,1 % of the surveyed schools also offered a water touring course. Title: School in nature in primary education in the Karlovy Vary Region Objectives: Find out the content of schools in nature at the 1st grade of elementary schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Methods: The bachelor's thesis uses a quantitative approach to research. The necessary information was obtained by the questionnaire survey method. The research group consisted of 10 teachers from primary schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Results: The results show that primary schools organize outdoor schools. The program of outdoor schools mainly includes hiking in outdoor activities. Primary schools do not use the help of agencies dealing with outdoor schools, but prepare a program for pupils independently. Using gamification in the outdoors

Title: Gamification and its use in nature Aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a comprehensive overview of gamification and to describe individual gamification elements in nature. Literature review: I have used the method of document analysis in the literature review. Academic texts available on the Web of Science, ResearchGate, Scopus and ScienceDirect platforms and those dealing with the topic have been the sources for the analysis. The gathered information has been systematically organized into a concise survey. Discussion and conclusion: Gamification is an interesting supporting element in many service areas and professions. It applies the fun concept of games to seemingly ordinary activities. The thesis has described gamification elements, which can be used in outdoor education programmes, and discusses positive and negative impacts on an individual. Based on the literature review and my own experience, we believe that the use of gamification in nature has a rather positive impact on human behavior.
