Vančurová, Kateřina ; Trunečková, Ludmila (advisor) ; Francová, Pavla (referee)
The diploma thesis "The Influence of Agency News from the Czech News Agency on the Content of Foreign News Sections in Periodicals" is focused on the thematic a geopolitical focus of the foreign news sections of Czech national dailies in comparison with the agency service of the Czech Newa Agency (CTK). The thesis strives to answer the question, how similar they are. At the same time, work with sources is compared. The theoretical basis for this thesis lies in the theorie of gatekeeping, news values and agenda setting. Two month-long periods were analyzed in the thesis, with emphasis on the comparability of the work with sources. March 2012, a so-called usual month with no expected events of big importance, was compared to the period between 20 October and 20 November 2012, when presidential elections went on in the United States of America. Three hypotheses were determined; of them, two were confirmed and one partially disproved. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Metabolism of the mitotic inhibitor BTB-1 by first phase biotransformation enzymes
Vančurová, Kateřina ; Indra, Radek (advisor) ; Martináková, Lenka (referee)
Cancer is still one of the most common deaths in the world and therefore new drugs are needed to be developed to stop or slow down this disease. Recently, there has been a huge expansion in drug development. Cytostatics that are still widely used include a group of mitotic inhibitors aimed at inhibiting mitosis. A representative of a mitotic inhibitor is the small newly discovered molecule BTB-1. This molecule mediates reversible inhibition of the molecular motor Kif18A, which plays an important role in cell division. In the first part of this presented bachelor thesis, a suitable method for the determination of BTB-1 using high performance liquid chromatography was developed and subsequently its sensitivity was verified. Furthermore, a suitable extracting reagent was found. In the second part of the bachelor thesis, the metabolism of BTB-1 was studied by the microsomal system of non-premedicated rats and rats premedicated with various cytochrome P450 inducers. Subsequently, the time dependence of BTB-1 conversion was studied by the microsomal system of premedicated rats. The effect of different concentrations of BTB-1 on its metabolism was also studied using the microsomal system of premedicated rats. Furthermore, the metabolism of this new molecule was studied using cytosolar systems isolated...

Modes of extrajudicial resolution
Vančurová, Kateřina ; Pohl, Tomáš (advisor) ; Macková, Alena (referee)
56 Abstract The purpose of this work is to introduce the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution as a full alternative to civil judicial proceedings. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of the alternative procedures in the Czech legal environment and on contemporary Czech legislation as well as its possible future development. The thesis was elaborated using primarily domestic professional literature, while a significant portion of the resources was represented by legal enactments including the relevant legislative history. This thesis only deals with foreign approaches to Alternative Dispute Resolution marginally, which is reflected in the choice of resources - foreign resources have been used to a very limited extent. Following the initial overview of the topic and the introduction of the author's relationship to the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution, this thesis presents the theoretical classification of these methods and collectively enumerates the legal regulations pertaining thereto. This is followed by an elaboration on the most frequently used forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution, namely mediation at first and arbitration second. For each of the named forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution, the thesis describes the differentiating characteristics of each method, the process of the...

Key moments in the life of Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960's and their reflection in contemporary Czech Slovak media
Vančurová, Kateřina ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
The bachelor thesis is about the portrayal of four key moments in the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. in contemporary Czechoslovak media in the 1960's. We picked three main contemporary dailies: Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo and Mladá fronta. We analyzed the following events: the march on Washington on August 28th, 1963, the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize laureates on October 14th, 1964 and the ceremony on December 11th, 1964, the so-called Bloody Sunday on March 7th, 1965 and the following march on March 21st, 1965 and the assassination on Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4th, 1968. The analysis includes texts that were published one week before the event and two weeks after it. With this interval, it is possible to cover the main texts about the event and consequential events. The thesis compares the objective portrait made by contemporary and present history sources and the contemporary media portrait by analyzing the language means and resources. The aim of the thesis was to determine the difference caused by the regime control over media contents and the limitations of information resources.
