Studená, Hana ; Spilková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Kašparová, Marie (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacognosy Candidate: Bc. Hana Studená Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Jiřina Spilková, CSc. Consultant: RNDr. Anna Polášková Title of diploma thesis: Quality control of herbal drug Sambuci fructus from cultivated plants The main aim of this thesis was to verify the quality of elderberry fruits of the cultivars Sambo, Sambu, Samdal, Samyl and of the wild elderberry according to tests specified in the Czech Pharmacopoeia 2009 and the Czech Pharmaceutical Codex 1. Loss on drying, total ash, ash insoluble in hydrochloric acid were determined. Another aim of this thesis was to compare certain cultivars of elderberry according to the content of anthocyanins in different parts of the fruits. A new modification of the spectrophotometric analysis using the pH-differential method was applied and its linearity and accuracy verified. Further, stability of the samples under given conditions was studied. A loss of anthocyanins content was observed, which was lower than 10 percent. The highest amount of anthocyanins was found in the cultivars Samyl and Samdal, the lowest amount in Sambu and wild elderberry. Although the determined quantities of anthocyanins differed in various parts of the fruit, the amount of anthocyanins in exocarp was...
Tales of musical talent - a qualitative study of development of professional musicians
Vejvodová, Táňa ; Mudrák, Jiří (advisor) ; Studená, Hana (referee)
Subject of this bachelor study is a development of the professional musicians. In the study, three interviews with the professional musicians were accomplished and later they were analysed. The main aim of the study is to assess the aspects, which the professional musicians consider important and decisive for their up to date development and for their future carrier on the field of music. It is also important to point out the barriers, which they had to break within their development and try to approach the perspective future life of professional musicians. Study is devided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is focused on musical talent and its exploring. A part is dedicated to musical instruments and researches connected with this topic. The theoretical part also mentions important and optimal aspects for the talent development and studies focused on researches of professional musicians. The empirical part includes a description of a conducted survey, its methodology, the process of the survey and a brief exploratory sample and an interview analysis. Then, results are demonstrated with data. A discussion summarizes obtained results and compares them to the studies and hypotheses from the theoretical part. In conclusion, there is a critical evaluation of the study and...
The problems of content of heavy metals in herbal drugs: Sambuci nigrae fructus
Studená, Hana ; Polášek, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Marie (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Analytical Chemistry Candidate: Mgr. Hana Studená Consultant: doc. RNDr. Miroslav Polášek, CSc., RNDr. Anna Polášková, doc. RNDr. Jiřina Spilková, CSc Title of Thesis: The problems of content of heavy metals in herbal drugs: Sambuci nigrae fructus Increasing contamination of environment by heavy metals has become a global problem during recent decades. The biosphere is polluted by heavy metals not only through natural events but chiefly through anthropogenic processes. The heavy metals may be toxic to living organisms even in trace concentrations. They cause oxidative stress, damage the structure of cell membranes, degrade mitochondria, denature proteins, etc. This thesis deals with the determination of the content of selected metals (manganese, copper, and iron) in the berries and leaves of different cultivars of elderberry bush (Sambucus nigra L.) by atomic absorption spectrometry. The cultivars selected were Samyl, Sambu and a wild elderberry growing in the environment with relatively high contamination by heavy metals. In addition, the thesis is focused on examining possible correlation between the content of heavy metals and the content of anthocyanins in the elderberry fruits. It was found that the heavy metals...
