Instruction level parallelism in modern processors
Sláma, Pavel ; Levek, Vladimír (referee) ; Pristach, Marián (advisor)
Basic methodology that exploits instruction level parallelism is called pipelining and it is part of every processor for decades. The ideal pipeline increases performance and efficiency for a relatively small cost. But the real pipeline has number of limitations caused by dependencies and hazards between instructions. The aim of this thesis is to discuss techniques used to improve efficency and performance of pipelined processors, to implement selected techniques to a RISC processor model and discuss its benefits.
Design of measuring workspace in LabView for purpose of spectrum and luminous flux measurement
Sláma, Pavel ; Motyčka, Martin (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with luminance parameters measurement and ways to accomplish this using LabView software. The first part focuses on luminance parameters measurable by spectroradiometer and their meaning. Following part introduces reader to hardware equipment that is used in the measurement. Third part contains description of LabView software and explains what is required to make a communication between equipment and PC work. Next part explains how the communication with peripherals was achieved. Following up is the part where it is described how programs controlling AC and DC power supplies work. In this part the user interface is described.
Influence of temperature on light-technical parameters of LED
Sláma, Pavel ; Štěpánek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with LEDs and how temperature influences their parameters. In the first part it is analyzed how semiconductors and semiconductor junctions work, which is fundamental for understanding mechanisms of diodes. Next up is description of electroluminescence and basic description of physical principles, on which it works. Following part is supposed to introduce reader to electro-technical parameters and powering possibilities of LEDs. Following chapter focuses on description of lightning-technical parameters. It aims to describe their meaning and their relation to LEDs. Next part is about influence of temperature. Firstly, it names the parameters which are altered by temperature change. Follows the description of thermal management and its influence on right behavior of LED diodes. The last part contains construction of measuring workplace for analyzing temperature influence on lightning-technical parameters of LEDs. Measurement of chosen electrical and lightning parameters follows up.
Robotic hand controll using virtual reality
Sláma, Pavel ; Bílek, Michal (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with possible solution of controlling robotic hand with virtual reality. To realize this work is used a prosthetic hand from the InMoov project. This thesis describes basic principles of 3D print technology and deals with materials suitable for manufacturing of a chosen robotic hand. As next describes function and controlling of servos, hand control using prototyping platform Arduino communicating with the computer with MyRobotLab software support. To capture movement is used motion sensor for virtual reality Leap Motion.
Online Quizzes in Information System
Sláma, Pavel ; Skokanová, Jana (referee) ; Lampa, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is trying to find its way in extensive area of relatively new problems of E-learning. E-learning has come together with fast advancement of the Internet trying to make education more comfortable and faster and at the same time trying to lower its dependency on the human resources. A lot of a development of the online tests is still needed. However, it is important to make clear the rules of the "game" and to press for their integration. The first goal to achieve the full-value system which would be able to substitute the conventional methods of education is to find out and solve the issues of testing in general, to analyze the requirements and to create data format for the data portability, which is required because of the mutual communication between different systems. On these bases it is possible to design the database scheme and then the complete system.
