Justice and fairness in workplace: possibilities of their measurement and structural equation modeling of their relations to selected work characteristics

The rigorous thesis deals with justice and fairness in the workplace and follows up a diploma thesis entitled Justice and fairness in workplace and related tools for their measurement (Pocar, 2021). The diploma thesis is extended in both the theoretical and empirical parts of the thesis. The theoretical part begins with an introduction to the topic, defines the key concepts, and further states what are the differences between them. The following chapters describe research into justice and fairness from its inception, which dates back to about the middle of the last century, to the present. The theoretical part also deals with the motivation of the individual to perceive justice and fairness, the consequences of perceived (in)justice and (un)fairness, the prevention of perceived injustice and unfairness, and the measurement tools used to measure these phenomena. The diploma thesis deals with justice and fairness in the workplace. The theoretical part begins with an introduction to the topic, defines the key concepts and further states what are the differences between them. The following chapters describe reasearch into justice and fairness from its inception, which dates back to about the middle of the last century, to the present. The theretical part continues with the reasons that motivate individuals to think about justice and fairness, what are the consequences of perceived (in)justice and (un)fairness, and finally we present the existing tools that are used to measure these phenomena. The empirical part focuses on the adaptation of two main, foreign methods (COJS and POJ) to the Czech environment, verification of their psychometric properties, basic validation and exploration the relationships between them. Due to the validation of POJ and COJS, we also set a secondary goal, namely the adaptation of scales describing the relationship to the organization and the superior and verification of their basic psychometric data. Perception and experience of fairness in the process of buying and paying

This thesis deals with issues of perception and experience of fairness in context of buying and paying. It focuses initially on the general definition and there is stated general theoretical basis. Considerable part of thesis deals with factors, which influence perception and experience of (un)fairness and these factors are divided into four groups. In the next part it deals with consequences of perceived and experienced unfairness and provides overview of coping strategies, which the individual uses to restore the inner balance. The last chapter focuses on the prevention of perception and experience of unfairness. The empirical part proposes a research design - an experiment, whose aim is to find out, if there is any impact on perception of fairness of provided price information and price itself. The experiment is supplemented by two questionnaries, whose aim is to discover potential personal characteristics related with forming of judgement of fairness.
