Self-Replication in Cellular Automata

This thesis introduces cellular automata as an environment suitable for simulating complex and massively parallel systems, built from a large number of simple cooperating units. The thesis explores self-replication and self-replicating loops - structures operating within the cellular space, particularly those capable of carrying out useful tasks. The thesis provides a description of implementation of three such loops, executing following tasks: coloring of the space within a loop, construction of letters "MM" and binary addition. A practical usability is discussed at the end.

The topic of the bachelor’s thesis is the pre-construction condition assessment of the truss of the church of Saint James the Elder in Telč. The work begins with the theoretical part, which is devoted to the typology of trusses, methodology and technical procedures of assessments. Bachelor thesis then continues with practical part, which includes a detailed description of the truss, the execution and evaluation of the pre-construction condition assessment. Among other things, the work determines the condition of the truss and evaluates the damage. Part of the results is also the draft of repairs with regard to the historical and cultural value of the building.

The European Region has a dominant position in the world tourism market, and the EU is the most visited destination in the world. However, with increasing competition from outlying countries, the EU's relative share is decreasing. This Master thesis deals with the assessment of tourism in the EU member states, with particular attention paid to an analysis of the tourism market in Denmark. The thesis aims to provide an overview of the importance of tourism for the EU, describe current trends and outline prospects for future development in this economic sector.
Annual report of non-profit organization - accounts of foundation

Foundation is a type of nonprofit organization which is established for aiming the general welfare. This thesis introduces the legal form of foundations and specifications of their accounting. Principal aim is to show composition of an annual report and a general purpose of its creation and publication. On two examples is shown differences in management of foundations, diversity of financial resources and statements.
Specifics and problems of countries in the Horn of Africa

The paper is concerned with the problems of countries in the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia). The first part provides general geographical, historical and demographic information about the Horn of Africa. Further it analyzes the political and security situation in this region, with a special focus on piracy in Somalia. The second part, in particular deals, with economic problems and region specifics problems such as an economic dependence on agriculture and the impact of climate change, further macro economical development, foreign aid, standard of living and the fall-out from HIV/AIDS on poverty. The last part describes territorial and commodity structure of foreign trade with special an emphasis on Ethiopia, where important role has coffee growing.
