Cross-curricular Links between Basics of Civics and Social Sciences and French Language

This Master thesis focuses on connecting school subjects to overcome the isolation of information that students obtain through them. First of all, the thesis describes the different forms of school subject integration and lists the positive outcomes to which this integration leads, as well as the reasons why any form of interdisciplinarity concerning school subjects could be demanding. While any sort of integration could be challenging because of the timetables or the teachers' workload, it is beneficial. The students can realize the connections between information that they acquire, and this leads to better retention of the knowledge. Plus, they feel more motivated because they can use facts from one subject in another one. Then, the main goal of this thesis is presented - to search for cross-curricular links between French language as a foreign language and Basics of Civics or Social Sciences. In order to do so, the thesis details their subject didactics and the goals of these school subjects. Based on their description and the analysis of their respective textbooks, their common themes emerge, and they can be used for further integration. This bachelor thesis focuses on the life and artwork of Camille Claudel, French sculptress that lived in the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. This thesis summarizes her life and focuses on the relationships with the members of her family, her friends and her teacher and lover, Auguste Rodin. It describes her childhood, teenage years and her start in the art of sculpture in Paris. Il also explains the lack of art education for women. Her relationship with Rodin was a key element in Claudel's life, it affected her artwork and her personal life. The thesis depicts their relationship from its beginning up to their break-up and describes the circumstances that probably led towards the end of the relationship. The thesis then sums up the artwork of Camille Claudel, describes the circumstances surrounding its creation and the response of art critics at that time. At the beginning of the 20th century Claudel started to experience psychological problems which eventually led her to mental institutions (Ville-Évrard and Montdevergues) where she spent thirty years until her death. The potential of ecological tourism in sustainable tourism development

This thesis deals with ecological tourism as a form of sustainable tourism development. The work is focused on agrotourism, its position in the development of rural areas and the demands of the operation agrotourism establishments in the Czech Republic in terms of the legislative burden, financial subsidies and umbrella organizations. In the practical part of this work ischaracterized the operation of selected farm providing tourism services. The main objective is to evaluate the importance of agri-tourism for sustainable tourism development and to analyse possibilities of support and cooperation in the operation and promotion of agritourism farms in the current conditions. Another aim is to evaluate the importance of tourism for the operation of a particular farm and assess the real possibilities of using the support, which was achieved by observation and controlled interview with the owner of the farm. In conclusion, there are specific proposals for analyzed farm. The result of this work is to defend the potential of agro-tourism in sustainable development. Agritourism occupies a key role in maintaining economic stability of rural farms, primarily because of low level of support and administrative burden in the system of allocating financial subsidies.
