GENIUS THEATRI, České Budějovice
Kůs, Martin ; Pejpek, Tomáš (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Fragmented and heterogenous space of Mariánské náměstí needs a new unifying element that will not compete with its surroundings, and yet not blindly respectful. It will simply stand there and in time become a natural part of the area. Rough massive volumes with minimum of windows boldly face surrounding urban blocks. Its dynamic facades emphasize the opennes and chaos of the area. Rough raw boulders with single elegant crystal inserted amongst them. Like a diamond amongst coal. It is interconnected through bridges. People and life flows through the whole structure.

Kůs, Martin ; Gale, Roman (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)

Closing the street line and the completion of the streets. The object smoothly recede in the street in Bratislava backwards. It creates a small, but very important public area. Fee of the real street is very essential for the further development of the area. The design responds to the local environment. Most of the courtyards is dysfunctional in terms of human and aesthetic. The design creates a separate world - paradise - inside the block.
Time-frequency analysis of technology IPOs
Kuš, Martin ; Vácha, Lukáš (advisor) ; Seman, Vojtěch (referee)
In our work, we focus on the dynamics of the volatility and co-movement during the first year of public trading. We use the wavelet analysis to investigate the return volatility of the technology stocks an their co-movement with the market in the time-frequency space. We employ the data sampled on multiple frequencies, ranging from 1 second high-frequency to daily data. We present three main findings. First, we identify gradual decline of the return volatility on all but the shortest investment horizons. Second, we do not find a convincing evidence that the technology stocks synchronize with the rest of the market as they get mature. Third, the different nature of the synchronization with the NASDAQ and S&P 500 indices is also not confirmed.
