Study of vortical structures generated by a swirl generator
Kurková, Michaela ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Urban, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the study of vortical structures generated by a swirl generator. The theoretical part is focused on the description of experimental and numerical studies of the vortex rope phenomenon. This part also includes a brief overview of vortex identification methods. The second part is dedicated to the study of vortical structures captured by CFD simulations. The vortex identification methods are compared on an example of the vortex rope.
Analysis of dispute settlement mechanism in Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and the UK
Kurková, Michaela ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (advisor) ; Tomalová, Eliška (referee)
The thesis deals with the analysis of the dispute settlement mechanism in the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The present legal arrangements governing the relationship between the United Kingdom, as the first former member state, and the European Union entail a number of ambiguities in political and legal discourse. In order to obtain a comprehensive picture and achieve the research objective, the thesis also includes the Withdrawal Agreement and a selected new generation trade agreement, the EU-Korea Agreement, as part of its analysis. To achieve this objective, the thesis sets out to answer two research questions, that is (1) how the institutional provisions of the agreements involved in the system of dispute settlement differ from each other and, where applicable, from the provisions of standard trade agreements concluded by the EU, and (2) how the dispute settlement mechanism foreseen by the individual agreements differ from each other and, where applicable, from other dispute settlement mechanisms in EU trade agreements. By answering the research questions, the author tests the hypothesis of the persistence of EU influences on the dispute settlement system in the Trade and Cooperation Agreement and the...
Influence of annular seal on rotor dynamics
Kurková, Michaela ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
The thesis deals with the problem of annular seals and their influence on rotor dynamics. In the first part the derivation of the basic analytical solution is presented. Subsequently, a FEM model of the rotor with the influence of annular seal is constructed. The model is used to analyze the effect of the seal on the rotor dynamics. The last part of the paper is devoted to the conceptual design of the experiment and its basic dynamic analysis.
Behrens-Fisher Problem
Kurková, Michaela ; Jurečková, Jana (advisor) ; Kalina, Jan (referee)
In this work we are concerned with the problem of testing the equality of the means from the two populations for the case where the population covariance matrices are unequal. Well-known problem frequently occurring in applied statistics, called the Behrens-Fisher problem. This is widely used in economy, social sciences and medicine. We concentrate mainly on multivariate case. We study variety of possible approaches, bayesian, parametric, nonparametric, with particular solutions. At the close we mention one of possible solutions of generalized multivariate Behrens-Fisher problem, Mack-Wolfe test. A Monte Carlo simulation was conducted in order to illustrate their properties for different dimensions, the degree of heteroscedasticity, sample sizes and correlation coefficients. For comparison we mention classical two sample multivariate Hotelling T2. We demonstrate impact of nonnormality by estimating the type I error and power for selected solutions. Finally we use real data form Forest inventory in the Czech Republic 2001-2004 and we present the necessity of solution of this problem in practice.

Strategic Analysis of an Enterprise
Kurková, Michaela ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor) ; Ezrová, Hana (referee)
The title of this Diploma Thesis is Strategy Analysis of the Enterprise. Subject of the Thesis is to analyse the current status of Zlichovec Brewery and to propose suitable strategy for further developing the Brewery in future. Method of the external and internal environment analysis is applied in the Thesis. Theoretical/methodical factors defining individual analyses is included in the first part of the thesis whereas practical application of the indentified findings on the respective Brewery is described in the second part. Based on the results debated in the second part thereof, evaluation of the existing strategy is provided and eventual changes in order to improve development of the Enterprise or to modify its strategy respectively are formulated.
Electronic Questionnaires
Kurková, Michaela ; Komárková, Lenka (advisor) ; Hajdíková, Taťána (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with electronic questionnaires. Questionnaires features are compared and the simplicity or complexity of the usage and the creation of an electronic questionnaire for common user sis investigated. Principles for creating questionnaires regarding particular usage of the individual questions during interview are the part sof this thesis. Important and therefore the main part of this work is the focus on the individual web-sites that offer the opportunity to create their own electronic questionnaire. In conclusion, the findings from the websites and the evaluation of the best website for creating electronic questionnaires for common users are described.
