The presented diploma thesis deals with selected problems of monuments in the Czech Republic, which were listed on the prestigious World Heritage List by the end of the year 2022. In the first part of the diploma theses, a comprehensive search of existing Czech inscriptions and values for which they were awarded the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) is carried out. Management plans of individual sites (or other strategic and conceptual documents) are also researched and chapters dealing with education and presentation issues of the given sites are evaluated. In the second part, the thesis deals with the issues of interpretation and education of values for which estates are awarded the OUV. A research is carried out of how local management work with the term "outstanding universal value" in their interpretive, educational and presentation materials and if the criteria for which the monument is included on the World Heritage List are given adequate attention. And if so, whether they use methodological materials in the interpretation of values, or at least the principles defined in the International Council on Monuments and Sites Charter in the field of interpretation and presentation of cultural heritage sites - the ICOMOS charter. I also plan to check whether local museums and other institutions are...

Analytical verbo-nominal constructions in Václav Hájek's Czech chronicle (1541)
Martínek, František ; Adam, Robert (advisor) ; Kučera, Karel (referee)
In Chapters 1 and 2, the thesis delimits analytical verbo-nominal constructions (AVNS) based on the relevant literature. AVNS are phrases which consist of a verb with a general meaning, expressing categorical semantic features (e.g. state, change of state, and cause of change of state), and an abstract substantive: dát radu - to give advice, položit otázku - to ask a question, být v nesnázích - to be in a difficult situation. Phrases with a substantive in nominative case (jednání probíhá - the negotiation is proceeding) and with an adverb (dát najevo - to put forth) are also included in the AVNS classification. In Chapter 3, the phrases excerpted from a Middle Czech text of 1541 are classified according to their formal features and some groups of related phrases are also described. In Chapter 4, some models of AVNS-classification are critically evaluated and supplemented according to their semantic features. The excerpted phrases are classified using the following features: the state/action opposition, action phases, causativity, etc. In Chapter 5, the functions of AVNS in text are analyzed (e.g. as indicators that a given text is on a higher stylistic level). Overall, the thesis demonstrates that it is inadequate to consider AVNS as only a progressive feature of modern language. Appendices include lists of...

The Latin-Czech dictionary of Clementinum is presented in this study as a medieval work, on which creation participate two main ways of medieval literary production, imitatio and aemulatio (imitation and competition). These two ways show themselves above all in the structure of the dictionary, which is characterised by the following features: combining partial glossaries, ordered both by subject and in alphabetical order; the way of handling its sources; the dependence on its models; the method of translation. Apart from the general characteristics of the text, this study analyses the translation of the verbs in the verbal part of the dictionary, concentrating mainly on loans, calques and hapax legomena. It also includes an edition of the dictionary.
Peripheral Units of the Old Czech Lexical System: Retreating Units
Nejedlý, Petr ; Kučera, Karel (advisor) ; Pleskalová, Jana (referee) ; Komárek, Karel (referee)
Petr Nejedlý: Peripheral Units of the Old Czech Lexical System: Retreating Units (abstract of the thesis) The thesis deals with Old Czech lexical units retreating from the centre to periphery of the lexical system. It examines prerequisites of the process, i.e. loss of systemic relations of the lexical unit, and describes its individual forms (the extinction of a lexical unit in the last resort). The work submits an overview of both (intra)linguistic and extra-linguistic factors which are based on development of the lexical unit and influence its retreat to the periphery. Attention is paid to systemic changes in the language which modify internal relationships within the lexical system and also lead to the loss of central position of some lexical units.
