Nursing process in prevention of immobilization syndrome

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of immobilization syndrome. It aims to point out the risks associated with long-term immobilization, recognize the early symptoms of immobilization syndrome and prevent complications. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of the immobilization syndrome in individual organ systems, where related changes and prevention are described in detail. The empirical part consists of a questionnaire survey, which focuses on the knowledge of nurses from the standard and ICU departments. The verified knowledge concerns the prevention and nature of the immobilization syndrome. A total of 99 respondents across the Faculty Hospital in Motola participated in the survey. The obtained data were processed and then the knowledge of nurses was compared based on education, type of workplace and length of practice. Awareness of mothers in the care of physiological newborn

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of care of the physiological newborn and the awareness of women (mothers) in the different areas of care. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the basic nursing interventions and steps in the care of the newborn from its arrival into the world, through the subsequent stay in the neonatal unit to its discharge to home care. In the introduction, basic concepts and definitions in the field of obstetrics and neonatology are defined. Attention is paid to the specific care of the newborn in the early postpartum period, the importance and significance of mutual cooperation between parents and medical staff during the hospital stay and all the necessary points of parental education after childbirth. The empirical part of the thesis presents results of my own investigation, data processing and comparison of my own results with results of previously conducted studies. Quality of Patient Education in the Home Parenteral Nutrition Programme

The bachelor thesis deals with the quality of education of clients who were included in the home parenteral nutrition program. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical parts. Indications, contraindications, and history of home parenteral nutrition are described in theoretical part. Also, its division by types and the most often used vascular entrances. The characteristics of education in nursing, the educational process, its goals, evaluation, and method of creating documentation for the implementation of all phases of the educational process are also described. The method of the survey investigation is described in the empirical part. It was conducted by using of a quantitative method by distributing non-standardized questionnaires to clients who have already been educated or will be educated during the survey. The purpose of this thesis is to gain the knowledge about how clients perceive the way of education conducted at our workplace, what information they consider to be insufficient, missing, or incomprehensible, and on what information or educational materials they would still like to have. Children's wards nurses knowledge of taking care of intermediate-term vascular access devices

The bachelor's thesis is focused on mapping and researching the nurses knowledge of taking care of intermediate-term vascular access devices inserted to pediatric patients. The aim of the work was to find out, based on a questionnaire, the level of nurses knowledge of individual types of intermediate-term catheters and nursing procedures related to catheters. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis includes pediatric anatomical specifics, general characteristics of vascular access devices, specifically described types of intermediate-term vascular access devices and nursing care of these catheters. The empirical part presents classified data in the form of overviews of tables and sectional charts, which are then compared with hypotheses based on age, length of practice, type of workplace and specialized competence of the respondent in the field of intensive care. Nursing care of a patient with a hemodialysis catheter in a chronic dialysis program

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the treatment of hemodialysis catheters. A hemodialysis catheter is an integral part of every elimination method, and without a functional hemodialysis catheter, hemodialysis is not possible. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out whether and how care for hemodialysis catheters differs at individual workplaces. The theoretical part of the thesis presents knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the kidneys, pathophysiology of the kidneys, elimination methods, vascular approaches and specifically describes hemodialysis catheters and their nursing care. The empirical part of the work presents the results of our own questionnaire survey, which took place at selected workplaces of the Motol University Hospital and at selected Fresenius Medical Care centers. The target group of respondents were nurses working at these workplaces. At the end of the investigation, 75 duly completed questionnaires were included in the statistical data processing. The bachelor thesis Chronic wound care - shin ulcer deals with the issue of chronic wounds focusing on tibial ulcers. The aim of the thesis was: To collect data on treatment options for and to study the available resources. To obtain data from the database "Care of the patient with a non-healing wound" at the University Hospital in Motol. These data were then assessed and statistically processed. To calculate a qualified estimate of the burden of nursing staff related to the care of patients with shin ulcer in internal medicine units, surgical units and in general in the University Hospital in Motol. The theoretical part of the thesis gives a basic overview of the problem. The empirical part of the thesis presents the results of the own investigation and their comparison with the results of previously conducted studies. The bachelor's thesis deals with the knowledge of nurses in the field of nursing care for patients with enteral nutrition. The work is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and empirical part. The aim of the final thesis is to map the knowledge of nurses in the field of enteral nutrition. Alternatively, increase awareness through professional training of nurses and prevent adverse effects in the administration of enteral nutrition that may occur with inappropriate nursing procedures in patients with enteral nutrition. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis deals with the types and types of artificial nutrition, methods of application, its indications and contraindications, and possible complications that may arise during the administration of enteral nutrition to patients. The empirical part of the final thesis is processed by quantitative research, it contains the results of a research investigation and subsequent comparison with the results of similar works. This bachelor's thesis is focused on the topic of ,,Care of patients with permanent indwelling urinary catheters - patient education material''. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis was to map out the theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing care in patients with an inserted permanent urinary catheter. Methods: Using the method of a questionnaire survey, we performed research of the foreknowledge of hospitalized patients with an inserted permanent urinary catheter in two hospitals - Motol University Hospital and Na Homolce Hospital. The total amount of respondents from both hospitals was 100. All gethered research was processed through statistical methods and interpreted using graphic charts. Results: From the results of predefined hypotheses, we found out the existence of correlation betwenn the patients awareness and their place of hospitalization. We have discovered if patients were able to manipulate correctly and independently with the urinary bag. Analysis of nurses' knowledge in newborn resuscitation

The present Bachelor thesis ,,The analysis of nurses' knowledge in resuscitation of newborn", focuses on the evaluation of the level of knowledge of nurses working in neonatal wards and delivery rooms. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a comprehensive overview of information on the classification of the newborn, conditions requiring resuscitation, postpartum adaptation and the first treatment of the newborn. The theoretical part of the thesis deals in detail with the procedure of neonatal resuscitation and post-resuscitation care according to the latest recommendations of the European and Czech Resuscitation Council. The aim of the empirical part of the thesis is to compare the obtained analysis of the knowledge of nurses of selected specialist departments, namely Thomayer Hospital and Bulovka Hospital. The method for obtaining data was a quantitative research using a questionnaire of own construction, which had 26 closed questions. Influence of Midline and PICC catheters use on frequency of complications associated with venous lines in hospitalised patients

Presented dissertation deals with the problematics of optimal choice of venous access for each hospitalized patient at standard internal wards. Introduction of vascular access must be safe for the patient and must allow the fulfillment of all the goals for which it was indicated. In recent years, in addition to peripheral cannulas and non-tunneled central catheters, introduction of midline catheters and PICC gets into everyday practice. The choice of optimal vascular access device since adminition can bring benefit to the patients in the form of decline of complications. Goal: The goal of master thesis was to prove that the use of new types of vascular access devices has influence on the decline of vascular access devices related complication occurence. Methods: To reach the goal we used a quantitative method of data collection during certain time period using created collection protocols. Research investigation took place from November 2017 to February 2018 at two standard wards of Department of Internal Medicine FN Motol. Results: A total of 350 venous access devices (271 peripheral cannulas, 54 midline catheters, 35 PICC) in 187 hospitalized patients was monitored.
